I didn't really feel qualified to talk and I already had my turn in the interrogation room, so I hung back to listen. And from what I gather...this whole tether and void travel thing is basically creating spirit clones to go off into the void while our bodies stay home?

Please tell me I misheard something, because that's kinda creepy.

You didn't mishear. This experience is something which happens on my star so it's not entirely unfamiliar to me. The soul traveling elsewhere and existing in corporeal form while still anchored to a physical body. As well as the soul which exists in physical form even after the body is gone.

Perhaps I can offer some insight.

Ten-Nank and I spoke, and the documents go along with what they told me. Tethering involves taking our soul into the Void while leaving our body behind. Physical bodies cannot safely travel into the Void. The tether sustains the body in terms of hunger and thirst, but for us, there are other dangers not normally present.

It's alright to feel overwhelmed or frightened. Sometimes life is that way, with or without Voidtrains and interdimensional travel involved; you get into situations that you feel unprepared to deal with, that make you feel like you're in over your head.

But you know? We've been in big, overwhelming situations before. We've faced them and we've overcome them, together. And that's how we'll get though this one too.

Basically? According to the Ministry, our hearts are here, but our physical bodies are still back home. I'm not sure if I believe it or not, but even if it is true, we basically already knew that with regards to you anyway, since back home you merged with Sora. So it's nothing you need to worry about.

That's all fine and well, [Though his tone would say otherwise to all of this.] However I have yet to see someone address the situation of those who have come from another location between their world and this train. Or several.

I had been under the impression at the last, ['Prison'... ok, it wasn't literally a prison, but he and others were still forced and stuck there.] Location that our worlds were on hold while we were away, despite the fact people came from different times in their timeline. Is this implying they copied our spirits or whatever they are from those locations rather than our home planets?

The part about this that I don't get is that if we're supposed to be just... astral projections or whatever of our selves when we're traveling the Void, then how is it we have corporeal forms in other realities than our own?

Probably a question to direct to the Ministry, but still. Something about this isn't adding up for me.

Making new physical bodies has been done before. My. Original body. Is back on Earth. But when my self got pulled to Beacon, a new one got made. Both times I died in Beacon, a new one got made.

And the scientist in Beacon wasn't even as advanced as the train.

The question I've still fuckin' got is that if they could create cloned bodies whenever they want, why the shit did some people still come in with the same injuries they had when their souls got snatched?

Not exactly new information, Anan explained how the tethers worked to me back in Kamakan which was in Llama.

Did they explain at the time if there are side effects to tethers for those who have been killed while on the train or on a mission?

Uh, I don't know what clones are, but it's whatever we are, spirit, consciousness, essence, whatever you want to call it, out here and made physical 'cause we believe we're supposed to be, while we're tied to the Voidtrecker Express and our bodies back home. We're anchored.

Most of us, at least. Nothing's created, we're always exactly us.

( He's frowning, half because he doesn't know what in the world Jake is talking about. What are clones. Where did creation come in? Clearly they were stolen! (This is, at least, clear to him, who has more of a concept of spiritual divide from physical self.) )

Okay, so, I tried asking the train a few questions. Dunno if anyone wants to try asking their own, but-

The train said it does the three-way tethers for all of us. [ There's a beat, leading into an awkward huff. ] ...--even the people who don't have a body where they were anymore. Or, you know, were supposed to move on.

[ Awkward, and Tidus's gaze goes off-screen for just a second. ]

But it can't tell what's up with any of the bodies that aren't travelling. Like, nothing that's... here, I guess? [ Uh, anyway. ] It didn't say the info in the file was wrong either, but I didn't ask specifics. Just, what was up with it, you know? Is it that bad? And it said it was the basics of it.

...But- [ there's a sigh; he doesn't want to just leave it at that. ] Whatever's up, we can figure it out. Ask the train, the Ministry, whoever - whatever this means, we've lasted this long. And people who've disappeared have come back too.

That's gotta mean something.
