orchestra 29 - the plot recap episode [video] (cw: existential crises)

Hey, so, uh...you guys want to recap that massive plot twist that got dumped on us?

I didn't really feel qualified to talk and I already had my turn in the interrogation room, so I hung back to listen. And from what I gather...this whole tether and void travel thing is basically creating spirit clones to go off into the void while our bodies stay home?

Please tell me I misheard something, because that's kinda creepy.

Did they explain at the time if there are side effects to tethers for those who have been killed while on the train or on a mission?

[Because honestly while Yugi wasn't exactly having too many issues with this unlike others that was maybe his only concern.]

The short answer to that question is no. Anan didn't answer that specific question, and I didn't think to ask it.

[ He hadn't considered death or injury to their traveling selves, but it's a question that's going to be mentally added to his list of things to look into. ]

Likely, however, the biggest risk to your body where you left it, is the tether itself. The tether has to be refreshed to avoid things like voidsickness, and we haven't been able to do that, although I'm not entirely sure what the limitations of that are to the number of days you can travel without having the tether reset.

Based on the information from Ten-nank, the physical self is at serious risk of permanant illness or death due to the three point tether, the longer you're away from your non-traveling self.

I guess it's a question |I will have to keep in mind. Or see if there are ways to figure it out.

[Or to see if there are in fact differences. But now at least to the matter at hand.]

So it's bad that we've been away for this long?

Probably. From what I gathered, we should be refreshing our tether during our journey, as opposed to just leaving and leaving our non-traveling selves to the elements. We're also not being watched over by technicians. That might be the biggest risk to ourselves at the moment, an unstable tether.`

Yeah... that doesn't sound good at all. But now the question is how do we handle that, right?

For the moment, there's nothing we can do about the tether, unless the train or the Ministry provides a solution. So the best we can do is keep an eye out for symptoms of voidsickness and manage those accordingly.

Outside of that, it seems like they want us to keep on our adventure as we have been. Not the most expedient answer, but it may be all we have at the moment.

I guess that is all we can do, which I am fine with. I may have some concerns now though, but as you said not much that can be done about that.
