[ The ICP comes on, broadcasting a message to all from the Library. Two figures stand side by side, one decked in elegant custom garb; the other in utilitarian Purple, with the standard coat that comes with their gear. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Glorfindel to the left, his smile open and inviting; next to him is Roland, arms crossed against his chest, expression a bit more serious. ]



Greetings, all! For those who are new to the train, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Glorfindel, and this is a brief announcement for those on the Purple Team. And perhaps, for those who may just be interested in what we have to say, colors aside. [ There's a playful lilt at the end of his statement, but he continues with the broadcast. ] You are all cordially invited to the very first Purple Team Mixer, to be held at around Grasshopper 27 in a location to be announced, on the Train.

[ Roland nods and continues where Glorfindel left off. ]

That's right. My name is Roland for our newcomers onboard, and the purpose of this mixer is so we can get to know one another a little bit better. We've got a lot of new additions to the Team, and Glorfindel and I - [ He glances to his side. ] will be acting as two of Purple's Team Leads starting now, as well. We hope to work hard for your continued trust. [ He makes a fist with his right hand and emphasizes his point with a small pump in the air. Glorfindel dovetails after. ]

The mixer is quite simple really! Aside from mingling and gathering as one, we'd also like to discuss various topics of interest such as supplies, mission protocols, training opportunities, and how the two of us can help any one of you, in any way we can.

So it's a mixer and a Purple town hall, if you'd like to look at it from that perspective. If you have ideas on how to improve things, this is the time to come and share your thoughts. We welcome it, and we'll do our best to facilitate everything neatly and concisely so the right steps can be put into place for the betterment of all.

[ Both of them sound like they've done this before...The tone shifts slightly more pleasant now, a little more casually as Glorfindel lights up (not literally, not yet!) ]

Plus, there will be bar snacks. [ 'Bar' meaning yknow. He's trying to be subtle! There are children onboard!! ] Oh, and of course, non-alcoholic beverages too, for those who are underage or can't have alcohol! It's going to be fun, even if we'll be planning alongside the chatting!

[ Roland smiles with a side glance to his new work husband partner, and turns back to close off the broadcast. ]

Glorfindel and I are ready to be of service to the team. Purple is made up of a lot of talented folks, and with our combined efforts, I'm certain we can make our dynamic even better than it already is. We're looking forward to seeing everyone then. [ The two share a look before nodding to the ICP. ]

A short time passes after their joint announcement. Roland is standing with a finger to his chin, eyes narrow as he reads through the terminal. He dons a rather wry smirk.

"Heh. The drinking bit definitely got their attention." Roland walks over to the table, occupied with various papers and books shared between Glorfindel and himself. He leans against the edge, arms crossed back on his chest.

"I hope we get a good turnout. What do you think?"

"Considering the number of members of the Purple Team, even if only 50% show up, we'll have a good turnout," Glorfindel pointed out.

"We'll want to start the discussion part before the drinking gets serious, though."

[ Heh! It's fond sassing all around--because hey, don't think he's going to leave a certain other 'older than they look' individual out. ]

[ He quirks an eyebrow up, smirk threatening to break. Cheeky as always I see. ]

We sure are. I guess you could say there'd be a certain somebody who would never have let me hear the end of it if I didn't put on my President's hat soon. Heh. [ Oh, you think you're getting off that easily? HE'S NOT DONE-- he looks around, as if dismissively, seriously!! ]

But you know, we do still need someone to count...I could always throw your name in, since I know you've got practice.

One question. What's a mixer? Because I'm i pretty sure you're not talking about the kitchen tool.

It is a party where you do not have designated seating, but instead mingle and mix, meeting new people and getting to know old friends better.

There will be snacks and beverages, and all of Purple Team is encouraged to come. Your ideas are as welcome as your presence, but if you prefer to speak to any of the Team Leads in private, that is fine as well.

I know I haven't been present on our missions lately because I've been called to the smaller teams, but I'll help however I can.

Would you like me to bring some breads to the meeting? As I understand it, it's a good idea for our adults to have access to filling snacks while they're drinking.

The Purple Team Leads are unanimous in that we feel that the members of the Purple Team should go on the mission that they feel best meets their needs and the needs of the various teams.

What we want to know is--how can we best support your decision? Do you need supplies? Do you see a need that isn't being met that we can address?

And yes, your breads would be very welcome. There will be a wide range of beverages available for the wide range of Purple tastes, and bread will go well with all of those.

Your thing is highly effective. Is there something we can do to support your thing? Sometimes teamwork means giving someone space, but making sure they have the necessary resources. But if you would like to try something new, we can help with that as well!

There will definitely be food. Purple Team needs to keep up their strength!

As a teenager, we will ask that you refrain from drinking the alcoholic beverages, then. But you are most definitely welcome.

Purple Team encompasses a wide range of people, so we will have a wide range of options for refreshments at the party. By "Mixer" we meant a less structured party where you are free to wander about and get to know people, rather than sitting at a table only able to converse with those immediately around you.

Look, I get that we all come from different worlds and dimensions so don't worry about it too much. We'll label the drinks table so no one accidentally drinks something they shouldn't. In general, just stick to the standards of your home world. We trust everyone who chooses to drink understands what they're doing. [ Though you all best believe Roland's going to be ID'ing the ones that look like kids 8| Just not...as strictly! He chuckles under his breath. ]

I see someone's getting ready to knock back a cold one. Save a toast with me, alright?

No problem. It's not mandatory to attend. We just wanted to start off by opening the floor to people who may not have had the chance before. If this isn't your style, then you're welcome to see myself or Glorfindel whenever you want to make it more private. [ He smiles with a light shrug. ] You can find me by the library or dining car on most days, if that helps.
