[ The ICP comes on, broadcasting a message to all from the Library. Two figures stand side by side, one decked in elegant custom garb; the other in utilitarian Purple, with the standard coat that comes with their gear. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Glorfindel to the left, his smile open and inviting; next to him is Roland, arms crossed against his chest, expression a bit more serious. ]

Greetings, all! For those who are new to the train, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Glorfindel, and this is a brief announcement for those on the Purple Team. And perhaps, for those who may just be interested in what we have to say, colors aside. [ There's a playful lilt at the end of his statement, but he continues with the broadcast. ] You are all cordially invited to the very first Purple Team Mixer, to be held at around Grasshopper 27 in a location to be announced, on the Train.

[ Roland nods and continues where Glorfindel left off. ]

That's right. My name is Roland for our newcomers onboard, and the purpose of this mixer is so we can get to know one another a little bit better. We've got a lot of new additions to the Team, and Glorfindel and I - [ He glances to his side. ] will be acting as two of Purple's Team Leads starting now, as well. We hope to work hard for your continued trust. [ He makes a fist with his right hand and emphasizes his point with a small pump in the air. Glorfindel dovetails after. ]

The mixer is quite simple really! Aside from mingling and gathering as one, we'd also like to discuss various topics of interest such as supplies, mission protocols, training opportunities, and how the two of us can help any one of you, in any way we can.

So it's a mixer and a Purple town hall, if you'd like to look at it from that perspective. If you have ideas on how to improve things, this is the time to come and share your thoughts. We welcome it, and we'll do our best to facilitate everything neatly and concisely so the right steps can be put into place for the betterment of all.

[ Both of them sound like they've done this before...The tone shifts slightly more pleasant now, a little more casually as Glorfindel lights up (not literally, not yet!) ]

Plus, there will be bar snacks. [ 'Bar' meaning yknow. He's trying to be subtle! There are children onboard!! ] Oh, and of course, non-alcoholic beverages too, for those who are underage or can't have alcohol! It's going to be fun, even if we'll be planning alongside the chatting!

[ Roland smiles with a side glance to his ~~new work husband~~ partner, and turns back to close off the broadcast. ]

Glorfindel and I are ready to be of service to the team. Purple is made up of a lot of talented folks, and with our combined efforts, I'm certain we can make our dynamic even better than it already is. We're looking forward to seeing everyone then. [ The two share a look before nodding to the ICP. ]

Uhm, I'd like to come, but... aren't these kinds of parties usually for adults? "Mixers", I mean. I'm only a teenager...

As a teenager, we will ask that you refrain from drinking the alcoholic beverages, then. But you are most definitely welcome.

Purple Team encompasses a wide range of people, so we will have a wide range of options for refreshments at the party. By "Mixer" we meant a less structured party where you are free to wander about and get to know people, rather than sitting at a table only able to converse with those immediately around you.

I wouldn't dream of it to start with! That'd be wrong, and also embarassing!

But, uhm. If you say so. I'll do my best to try and attend... I just wasn't exactly sure of myself, I guess.

[ Roland is only slightly amused given that back in his home world....underage drinking was almost celebrated. He didn't condone it, but the Youth Culture was something else! ] Ignore the alcohol. We'll label it properly so you don't accidentally drink something spiked. Kudos to you for keeping to the age limit in an interdimensional space train, at least. Heh.

[ His expression is kind! ] Don't worry about it. It's an open invite with no strings attached. Do what feels right for you. We just want to give everyone on the team an avenue to be heard and seen.

I just don't want to do anything I should be ashamed of. But thank you for keeping things in line. I feel like most people wouldn't go the extra mile.

And I see. I haven't had a chance to contribute much to a mission, but I want to make a difference where I can...

We wouldn't want that either, so please, feel free to come and enjoy yourself.

I am certain you will have many such opportunities. There are many ways to contribute as well. Especially in Purple where we have such a diverse group and our missions run a gamut of duties. If you see something that calls out to you, please let us know how we can support you in it.

[There's the question of how to do this when most of what she's capable of is something she has to keep a secret.]

Of course. If you do not think of something by the party, that's okay, there is no rush. But please come anyway. [he smiles gently with this]

It's really nice to make yourself available like that. If that's going to be how you run things I think we're off to a good start!

[ Roland pipes in after studying something else on the table, smiling quietly at the conversation. ]

Let's hope this gets the ball rolling to something even better. And hey, you're welcome to invite friends over to come with you if it'll help, even if they're not from Purple. It's not called a mixer for nothing, heh.

Ah, I've... actually had trouble connecting with people on the train since I arrived here. But I do have friends from home! They're both in Purple too!

[ Oh, that's not something Roland likes to hear. ]

I see. [ Not that he can force her to go out of her comfort zone, though, so for now... ] Well, then maybe you can convince them to come too. I'll introduce myself to them, if I don't already know them.

Heh. Not at all. I think if I'm not a people person by now, I'd be doing a pretty bad job at helping my teammates.
