Thank you for those who participated in sending in your nominations for train council. Dread and I have tallied the numbers and are ready to present to you the list that will appear on the election ballot in the next several days.

Please congratulate the following:

Wait, what?

Uh, I mean... Thanks to whoever nominated me?

[She does not sound half as confident as she wishes she did. Shaking her head, she adds:]

So, Kaiba mentioned all the candidates giving a speech, talking about what they would focus on bringing to the council and so forth. Should we make more Network posts for that? Since we don't yet have a good way of saving video on the ICPs.

Or should we write a speech in advance, and then meet up to give them in one of the carriages?

You can do it however you’d like. I’m not going to make a speech but I’ll answer any questions someone asks- well, any intelligent question.

[That elicits a snort.]

So, no trolling from certain Spider-Kids, right?

If Tony doesn't have anything to add, she'll check her ticket out of the ICP and start getting to work.]

What's an election ballet sir? Why is not everyone who we wroted down on the list?

[Professor Tony mode activated.]

An election ballot is an official list you use to select who you would like to vote for. This initial vote was for nominations. Since there's a little over a hundred residents on this train, the council decided that we wanted to condense that list to concentrate the votes to those most seen as leaders on the train.

In other words, if we listed everyone on the train who got a nomination there would still be forty-nine people on the final ballot. That's simply a lot of people to choose from, so we decided we wanted the top twenty people. By how the numbers went, that meant whoever got at least three nominations and didn't take themselves off the list are on the nomination list.

Does this make sense?

[He listens carefully as Tony explained what an election ballot was. It sounded very complicated but he thought he understood. He nodded.] So we wroted names and that made us go from one hundred to forty nine. So then you looked at all the names and counted and if three people wanted them to be the leader then they went on the election ballot so that's twenty people and then we will say names again from that list until we get... eleven.

[It sounded very complicated. But there were a lot of people and it would be tricky to put them all in one carriage and raise hands.] Um so out of those do we all got to say eleven names?

Yes, exactly. And if you need any help with that at all, you let me know or someone you feel comfortable with. The most important part is that we want to know who you, Romeo, think would do the best job.
