{He has had enough of alcohol, Mama. It made his head hurt! Sizhui grins shyly at the sight of him, pausing in his mixing of flour and eggs in a big bowl.}

I thought they would make it into a joke.

{Berry cake sounds delicious to him and he holds up a bowl of blueberries and raspberries and blackberries.}

Aren't they pretty?

[ Good boy! Wuxian comes over to drape an arm around his son's shoulders, obediently peering down into the bowl. ]

Of course they would! And they would be right. [ Teasing mama grin~

But then the grin subsides and he smiles. ]

It'll taste delicious, A-Yuan!

{No spices! Sizhui kisses Wuxian's cheek and gently crushes the berries before adding them to the batter.}

You're supposed to defend me. {HUFF. The color of the batter is very pretty and he mixes it with a small smile.}

Why do you think I act so ridiculous?

[ ...Because you are ridiculous, Wuxian.

He hums, tapping his chin again as he admires the shade the batter takes. ]

Mm...Surprise us. You know us both well by now.

{He will always be blessedly blunt, but his grin is loving.

Adding some sugar and mixing it all together, he pours it into a cake pan and tucks it into the oven.}

Red is the color of weddings. Will your robes be red?

[ ...Precious child. He lets his eyes go wide and a pout to form as Sizhui puts the cake into the oven. When he straightens, Wuxian reaches out to playfully pinch his son's cheek, just as he had when the boy had been a child.

But then his touch moves to lightly pat the top then side of Sizhui's head in affection. ]

Kumoko is almost done with them. They're beautiful!

[ Somehow even better than the designs he'd drawn up for her, and it has him bouncing just thinking about them and the significance. ]

{He snickers at the pinch - he still has some cute cheeks ~~that need pinching~~ - and instantly goes in to hug Wuxian around his waist.}

I'm happy for you, Mother. {Truly. Without reserve. He loves the idea of his parents being together.} I can't wait to see them.

If I can find rabbits, they will be there too. {Sizhui will dress them up for it.}

[ Exactly! He has to get as many cheek pinches in as he can! So many years to make up for. Wuxian laughs at the hug and lets his arms curl around Sizhui in return. Then squeeze gently at the sweet words. ]

If anyone can find rabbits, it's you. And they'll be extra cute.

{The same goes for all the hugs. Sizhui rests his cheek against Wuxian's shoulder and smiles at the squeeze. His Mama gives good hugs.}

I'd like to find little ones. The babies could fit in my pocket.

{And be extra extra cute with flowers on their heads.}

[ Why should he push his son away? No reason? Okay. Wuxian settles in for a nice long hug session. He grins, shoulders shaking a little in silent laughter. ]

You would have to be very gentle with them, and make sure they have plenty of carrots to nibble on.

{No, sorry. There is no reason to push away a snuggly Wen-Lan! He is a rare radish bunny anyway and he needs Mama hugs.}

I took care of the babies before! The rabbits shared them with me. Father showed me how to feed them milk.

[ Exactly! No escape, baby boy~ ]

Ah? So that's how they grew up so well!

{He's a warm, happy bunny. He doesn't wanna escape.}

Did you see them? They love being held.

Whatever you make, keep it away from your dad. I have no interest in learning how a berry cake can be made so spicy it gives me heartburn for three days.

And I thought you liked my food! I'm hurt! [ Not really. ]

[It's true, Wei was 'mama' but Tony hadn't been sure if that was supposed to be a public term or not. When Lan Sizhu says it though, that answers that question.]

Spice is good, but not in a berry cake. That's just weird and you know it.

[ Oh please, as if Wuxian's ashamed of being the 'wife' in his marriage, or the mama to his son. ]

I haven't had many cakes, but this one looks good.

And who says you're going to get some?

According to your son, you gave him nothing but radishes.

[He chuckles. How many of these conversations over the network were they going to have where all Tony does is simply laugh at how cute the boy is? He was going to get a complex over this, poor kid.]

Yes, yes you do. They're gigantic. I'm pretty sure I saw a cotton ball tail too.

{Sizhui is fine with Tony's laughter; he isn't bound to be upset that it is at his expense. His Papa raised him right and he is too gentle of a soul to lash out without good cause.}
