I'm Senku, if you don't know me. [Everyone can't possibly know him, at least, but they've probably seen him around he certainly has a distinct hairstyle, that and he's always working on a project.]

Had a bit of a slow start from the last mission, but I wanted to tell people about the supplies we picked up during the last mission, so you know the food that's available to you.

We picked up fifty-five konjac roots from the devil's tongue plants. I used about ten to make some Shirataki noodles, which are a vegan substitute. The technique can be used in a variety of ways, to substitute for other things, which I'm happy to help with if people have requests. There are about forty roots left over, just stored in the pantry. I'm not a vegan so I don't really know what people might like specifically, but it's fairly easy to do.

Aside from that, we picked up forty passionflora, which included an average of three fruit per plant. To that end, I've put forty of the fruits in the fridge, and I'll replenish them when they're out. The rest are being stored in the arms band so they don't spoil. If I don't notice, don't hesitate to tell me, or if you want them for a project or something.

We also picked up seventy-five cocoa pods full of cocoa beans. I've got them all out of the pods right now, but that means in the next two weeks I'll be making cocoa powder and chocolate, that will end up in the pantry when it's ready. We tried to gather a lot of that specifically, but chocolate takes a long time to process, so it won't be ready until then.

I had help gathering these things from Gen, Inigo, Tidus and Roland on the last mission. If anyone is interested in learning how to make chocolate, or interested in gathering things the next mission we go on, don't hesitate to ask me, I intend on continuing to do this for the forseeable future. [It's his hobby okay.]

Does anyone have any questions about any of that? [He'll stay by the ICP, but he's already picking up what looks like an animal pelt and a bone needle and stitching. He doesn't like to sit idle.]

Can we spare some of them for seeds? I can grow a little of everything and we'll replenish our supply. Assuming you haven't planned anything yet?

The devil's tongue plants I have, have the roots, so they should be able to be planted, and nurtured, although I don't know how many you'd like.

The same goes for the passionflora plants, they don't have the roots but they are cuttings, they should work.

The seeds are from the cocoa pods are still encased and just in a jar for the prep time that takes. I don't know if there is enough room for trees in there.

I've never grown cocoa before, I didn't realize they were trees...I don't need roots for rest, just seeds or cuttings. Plants powers. [She wiggles her fingers] Maybe we'll have to pass on the chocolate plants but I'll always want more fruit and veggie things. Don't know how many yet, let me check the greenhouse space.

Not a problem them. I have the cuttings in the arms band, so they shoudn't degrade at all, while you sort how many you'd like. Both would be a good thing to keep around, I would think.

I'll help you! I'm definitely interested in expanding our food options. Our vegans definitely need more appealing things to eat.

[ And then, her eyes sparkling---]

...and we definitely need more desserts! Passion fruit and chocolate together can make some wonderful treats.

[ He responds by chuckling at her passion for desserts. ]

Yeah, why am I not surprised. Another sweets fan, huh.

No problem. I'll probably working on the next phase of the cocoa bean process maybe in a week or so. Although there's probably a mission coming up. Might have to be before. I don't know, we'll see what we can do.

Mm, that's always an inconvenience. I'm happy to help with whatever you need.

Yeah, of course! So sometime next week the cocoa beans will have to be cleaned and the soft casing removed and then dried out in the oven, that's the next step. It's kinda tedious but if you're interested, I'll let you know when I'll be in the kitchen doing that if you're free.

[ That's okay, Senku looks amused. ]

Close enough! There's so many desserts I could make with good chocolate! I'll help make some, if I get a lesson.

Yeah, sure, I don't mind. I can get you as far as the chocolate and cocoa at least, but I don't know a ton of dessert recipes offhand.

Maybe I could get a cookbook centered around chocolate.

Hey, Senku. I guess this is mostly unrelated, but.. [ He makes a vague hand gesture. ]

Would you maybe be willing to teach me a bit more about modern technology? I really felt like I understood that whole deal with the microscope, after all.. [ His voice trails off, Inigo pauses, and he admits: ] Well, most of it. Some of it! Point is--! There are some things I'd like to know.

If you want, I could in return help you with stuff while we're talking about it? I can sew. A little bit. I've been learning!

[ Considering what it looked like Senku was about to do there at the end. ]

[ Unrelated topics, when has that ever stopped Senku from answering something? ]

Not a problem. [ He gestures for Inigo to continue. ]

Ah, yeah sure if you want. And you can help sew if you want too, it's not a particularly challenging craft at the moment, just a blanket, so it's straight forward. [ He's already got purple thread on his needle and he's pulling it through as he talks. ] But I'm intending on making a few of them with Gen's help. [ Gen helps with everything. ] But we don't mind the extra hands.

I'll probably be sitting here in the standard car all day if you want to come find me.

[flatteries]

I'll come over.

[ He can at least help get the work along a little while talking! It's just that he'd feel bad asking Senku for help without doing something in return at the same time, especially if Senku is working as they speak..

So Inigo cuts the feed, heading over towards the standard car right away. He's got time, and if Senku is already there anyway..

And the moment he's there, he just sits down near Senku, making a grabby motion with his hands. ]

Alright, hand me the goodies.

[ .. he just means a needle so he can help sew, but knowing Inigo, he probably heard someone much more used to regular modern day talk say that and thought it was cool enough to want to repeat.. ]

Yeah sure.

[ He's barely started on this one, but he'll stop, pull out a spool of thread and another bone needle and offer it to Inigo. ]

Sit across from me and when we're done our sides we just have to rotate that way. You just want some stitches that are fairly tight and don't worry, it takes a bit of force to get through.

If you need assistance, I have a strong arm and am experienced in mass drying of various plants.

I'd offer to help with the growing, but Persephone is so much better at it than I am! [He grins into the monitor. After all, Persephone is so awesome!]

Yes, I do, in about a week's time. It has to marinate in the fleshy part for a week to bring out the flavours. After that it'll be about drying out the cocoa beans for further processing.

Not to worry, I've promised to save some clippings and beans for her.

Yes, always. I'm working on finishing up these blankets, but if you don't want to sew, I also promised to make some knives, if you want to help with that. Or, less laboriously, I need to make more cola. I think that's about it, for the moment.

How aboout... we see which I'm good at? I don't mind sewing or knife making. How're you doing that though? What kinda knives are we talking here?

[ He's approaching this cautiously. Roland isn't one to shy away from a chance to make amends even if he feels unsettled. Senku's a friend. He knows his actions weren't done in the right state of mind, and even Roland knows it's uncharacteristic of him to be such a way. When he pipes up to the announcement, he sounds just as he would any other day...which is already a vast improvement from the last time they saw each other. ]

What a haul. [ He chuckles, genuinely. The chocolate of course, catches his attention. ] I can't wait for the hot chocolate.

[ But that's not quite what he came here to talk about, so he doesn't dilly dally any longer. ]

Yeah, we did pretty good collecting things, should work out well.

[ Senku for his part looks or sounds no different from any other day, and his tone is as genuine as it usually is. ]
