"Have 3 issues I wanted to bring up. First is, I hate to bother people, but I just finished making a batch of candies and haven't enchanted them yet."

With this she holds up a little white sugar candy with a pink kitty head in the center, "If anyone wants to try them, and let me know how they are. Well, since I don't have any actual molds and the only flavorings were some tree sap that went with all the bacon that was used, I could use the critique."

"Second is, does anyone do blacksmithing here? I haven't seen a proper forge, but I haven't wanted to dig through everything. Privacy is almost nonexistant here and I don't want to but in on someone's personal space if there is one in hiding."

"Finally, and this is going to sound a bit odd since I look maybe twelve, but. I haven't really have a lot of experience with living like this in as long as I can remember. Watching the exploits of others on a giant screen, going on about love and what not, birthdays. These are all things I've seen, and I know they have meaning... I just haven't really paid attention to them in so long, I've kind of forgotten if they are actually important, or just a way of passing the time till the next disaster."

Oh right, tree sap, and that's about to inspire a 'uh gross?' face until ohhhh, maple, and Tidus takes the candy more happily than he might've a second ago, popping it in his mouth.

"What'cha gonna enchant it with?" asked, with a candy being sucked on.

"The standard defensive spells I've been using for over a hundred years. Takes about a quarter of the force out of an impact, either physical or magical."

She shrugs a bit at that.

[blitzcheer]

"Cool!" Said again, with a mouthful, but then he politely (read: just so happens) tucks it out of the way in his mouth. "Well I like the flavour... it's really sweet, but what you expect from a candy."

Cool words, Tidus.

"You never choked on one before?"

"No...."

She tilts her head and looks at him oddly, "Why?"

"Oh! You know..." He holds out a hand, mimics swing and blade and then having it pushed back at him as he explains:

"I was just thinking if you were sucking on it while fighting, and you got suddenly knocked hard! You don't think about what's in your mouth!"

"Enchanted. There were some issues with line people doing that, but the magic in general keeps you from choking on it."

She blinks, then shakes her head, "I could explain the formula, but... It'd take a week, and if you aren't a magical scholar wouldn't mean anything."

"It's magic!" he offers as an easier explanation. "I can understand that. But so are you preparing these for anything? Or just keeping practice and seeing you can do it?"

[grannyofthebolt]

"Right now, I'm seeing what people's tastes are. I can enchant these if they're liked."

She looks at the tray of them she has, "It has been a very long time since I haven't had proper molds or anything so experimentation is needed."

[blitzcheer]

"What counts as proper moulds? You can't just use any baking mould?"

Was there something magical about the moulds she usually had? ...or were they just cuter?

"Mine were cute. And they didn't shatter the candies when I brought them out of them. I mean they weren't magical, just it was a lot less frustrating than doing it all by hand."

[blitzcheer]

So, cuter. Tidus hums in understanding.

"I should've asked you about some candies for Romeo's movie night. Maybe another time!" But, with that said... "So, back home, everything's just waiting for the next disaster to happen? It's all work for you?"

[grannyofthebolt]

"Mostly training the next generation of heroes to deal with it. Honestly, the only reason I got involved in the last mess I did was because my sister was involved..."

"And because one of my only friends left asked me to watch his sons."

[blitzcheer]

"Well... it seems like we've all been brought here to deal with disasters too. But what you do or wanna do, that's up to you, isn't it?" He's got his elbows on the table, arms folded. "Do you think you'd be interested in getting to know people more? If we just end up here and then go back...it's kind of a weird, cramped vacation no one asked for."

''Vacation''.

"Getting to know people is one thing. Being crammed into a tiny metal box with people and no place to be alone is another really. That and knowing and being close are very different creatures."

And she copes poorly with being alone or abandoned. Not that she will ever tell anyone that.

[blitzcheer]

"Suuure," he drags out, half a means to give himself an added second to think, "but you won't get close to anyone without knowing them first. And at least most of us here-- we're not all looking to keep to ourselves, you know? It's a start. And it sounded like you were looking for somewhere to start."

Granted, he hasn't provided any ideas about that yet, but--he's got to make sure if he's gotten this right.

"I'm not sure about that. I don't have my roof to sit on and apprentices to boss around. Well, till they go away and I have to find more of them."

She shrugs a bit.

He's not sure what that has to do with connecting with people, but.

"...We can get you a bookcase to sit on?"

Get it. Because she's small.

Titus, she has no idea where you are going with this.

"There is no space for it here."

[blitzcheer]

"I mean, if you want to sit somewhere high! Bookcase was the first thing that came to mind!" he says defensively.

Okay, maybe there's better high things she can sit on. But!

She dot eyes, "I could watch the whole town from that roof."

[blitzcheer]

Don't dot eyes at him...!! Time to shake his hands defensively.

"H-hey, I didn't take away your roof. I wanna be outdoors too!"

[grannyofthebolt]

"Eh, I haven't been home in like 2 years. I took away my roof. It isn't your fault."

She rubs her head and blahs.

[blitzcheer]

His hands drop, and he feels bad for her, ultimately. Whatever's going through her head--she's got a lot more years than him to think about.

"I miss the sunrise, and the way it looked back home. ...Sometimes you need new things to look forward to, right?"

[grannyofthebolt]

"I just miss being busy. Didn't have time to think about this stuff before. You don't get angry at yourself for lost humanity when you don't have time to think about it."

[blitzcheer]

"Hmmm..."

There's the return of that thoughtful hum, and then, a decided nod.

"Next time there's any parties and that, I'm making sure you go to them. We're getting you meeting people and having fun. And you should talk to people more!"
