"Have 3 issues I wanted to bring up. First is, I hate to bother people, but I just finished making a batch of candies and haven't enchanted them yet."

With this she holds up a little white sugar candy with a pink kitty head in the center, "If anyone wants to try them, and let me know how they are. Well, since I don't have any actual molds and the only flavorings were some tree sap that went with all the bacon that was used, I could use the critique."

"Second is, does anyone do blacksmithing here? I haven't seen a proper forge, but I haven't wanted to dig through everything. Privacy is almost nonexistant here and I don't want to but in on someone's personal space if there is one in hiding."

"Finally, and this is going to sound a bit odd since I look maybe twelve, but. I haven't really have a lot of experience with living like this in as long as I can remember. Watching the exploits of others on a giant screen, going on about love and what not, birthdays. These are all things I've seen, and I know they have meaning... I just haven't really paid attention to them in so long, I've kind of forgotten if they are actually important, or just a way of passing the time till the next disaster."

"Anyways, thanks."

I can't help with the blacksmithing thing, but two out of three ain't bad, right?

I'm totally down for taste-testing, so sign me up. And... yeah, love and birthdays are pretty important! They usually go hand in hand, too.

"I don't actually remember when my birthday is. I kind of forgot a lot of things over the years. Was always to busy."

"Still, if you want to try some candies I'm in the dining car!"

"Sure, I'll head on over. And we'll totally sort out the birthday thing. Where are you now?"

This girl was going to get a birthday, come hell or high water.

Glorfindel walks in and over to where she is. "Hello, I would like to try the candy. I might also help partially with the forge issue. I'm not good as a blacksmith or metal worker, unlike Feanor, Curufin, or Nerdanel, but I can act as the forge itself."

Then he smiles at her. "You sound a little like one of my guardsmen who spent the good part of three hundred years out on assignment. They had some trouble re-integrating into society at first."

"I'd say anything's as important as you want it to be in life, but personally? I think everyone should get to enjoy things like that! Birthdays, love--"

[ Ah. ]

"You don't have anyone close to you, Sakura?"

"What do you need blacksmith for?"

Fëanor is more cautious with offers of help now. So spill the details kid, maybe you'll get him interested.

Here it means that you'll be able to learn so much more. I would be happy to continue sprouting about love to you if you'd like.

"I'm in the dining car. Found it easier to cut the things in here than in the kitchen proper. It was too hot in there and the temperature was causing the candies to sweat a bit."

"No. There was my sister, but.... I want to say we grew apart, but more, I realized she was absolutely nuts. And Reagan had his family... Other than that and the group I was traveling with, I'm just granny. I hate being called granny."

"I need to have a new magic rod made. One that preferably won't catch on fire after the first lightning bolt, or dry out and whither the first time I channel other magic through it to bonk someone trying to get too close. I'm not really asking for the moon and the stars, just a simple pattern I have and leave the rest up to the smith's muses."

"Oh? The forge. Fire magic?"

With that she pulls apart a few of her poker chip sized sugar candies and offers them over.

"As for the other thing. I've spent over 700 years as an ageless oddity. Back home I founded the country I lived in, just because I was tired of not having people to do all the things I didn't know how to. I've been less of a person and more of a terrifying founding spirit for longer than I want to admit."

"I'm not so certain there is much to learn. I mean you are welcome to keep going, but I have a kind of horrible personal issue with the whole thing. Being stuck in a twelve year old body is... It leaves doubts."

"Oh? ...What about auntie? Is auntie better?"

He was going to say more but this is very important too!

"Not really. It is still weirdly familiar yet distant. Sakura is fine at that point. Why? I don't remember training you from diaper age."

"It's not that serious- we use 'em where I'm from too. It's all about how you use it!"

And really beside the point right now, but he's had a few words about referring to people as such while being here.

"Anyway, where are you? Talking in person's more fun."

"I'm in the dining car. Cutting candies. Where it isn't getting in anyone who's cooking those disgusting carrots way."

That gets a small scoff from Tidus. "Got'cha. No carrot-flavoured candies anytime soon."

Or ever. But with that said he'll find his way around about five minutes to the dining car, greeting Sakura with a "Heey!" as he approaches her section of the table. Eye the selection of candies, because of course.

And quirking an eyebrow. "What did you say were in them again?"

"Sugar mostly. A couple of different kinds. And tree sap. Maple. Most of the coloring is just various food dyes."

She cuts one off and offers it, "I haven't enchanted them yet. Since the magic comes out as you suck on them, I need to make sure they aren't gross."

Oh right, tree sap, and that's about to inspire a 'uh gross?' face until ohhhh, maple, and Tidus takes the candy more happily than he might've a second ago, popping it in his mouth.

"What'cha gonna enchant it with?" asked, with a candy being sucked on.

"The standard defensive spells I've been using for over a hundred years. Takes about a quarter of the force out of an impact, either physical or magical."

She shrugs a bit at that.

"Cool!" Said again, with a mouthful, but then he politely (read: just so happens) tucks it out of the way in his mouth. "Well I like the flavour... it's really sweet, but what you expect from a candy."

Cool words, Tidus.

"You never choked on one before?"

"No...."

She tilts her head and looks at him oddly, "Why?"

"Oh! You know..." He holds out a hand, mimics swing and blade and then having it pushed back at him as he explains:

"I was just thinking if you were sucking on it while fighting, and you got suddenly knocked hard! You don't think about what's in your mouth!"

"Enchanted. There were some issues with line people doing that, but the magic in general keeps you from choking on it."

She blinks, then shakes her head, "I could explain the formula, but... It'd take a week, and if you aren't a magical scholar wouldn't mean anything."

"It's magic!" he offers as an easier explanation. "I can understand that. But so are you preparing these for anything? Or just keeping practice and seeing you can do it?"
