[It's about an hour after the messages from Curufin and his mother. Your self-proclaimed leader is ready to 'lead' at you.]

Alright, we all heard the warning. Team leads, check in with your teammates both new ones and those who have been here awhile. We need people to volunteer making packs like the last mission for rations and supplies for everyone. Those with first-aid training should offer refresher courses or introduction demonstrations as we have some new people on board.

What kind of abilities and powers do we have on board that could assist with people who might be freezing? We need to brainstorm quick ways to make either potions or devices that we can give or use to prevent hypothermia.

They never give us much time with these things, so let's get on this.


[Second message not too long after the first.]

If anyone with a taser used it last mission and needs it fixed, let me know. If you'd like a taser, also let me know. These are specifically for those who aren't accustomed to fighting.

We will be fighting the ice itself.

[ Luke's voice sounds vague and distant, like he's remembering something. He shook himself out of it after a moment, a determined frown on his face. ]

Purple team, I'll need to know what everyone's capable of. I have a feeling we'll be front and center this time.

I’m functionally immortal unless someone cuts off my head, stabs me through the heart with wood or silver, or puts me in direct sunlight without protection. I’ll be just fine battling ice monsters.

Ice can be sharp as well. Be mindful.

Yes, it can be very sharp. But unless it’s made of silver or wood and pierces my atrial sinus, I’ll bounce back. I’m being extra careful about my blood supply this time around, and I don’t have to worry about it going bad if we’re going to be stuck in a refrigerator.

I’ll be fine. My healing factor is better than Parker’s.

[faithfulson]

[ Luke let out a faint noise, a lopsided smile coming to his face. ]

How many people here have some kind of healing factor?

[ Luke paused, squirming awkwardly, before glancing away. ]

Just a feeling.

[ His tone was just oh so innocent. Don't you believe him, Tony? ]

[Oh give him a break. He's so eye rolling at you.]

We just had two others announce they have visions. Are you going to get all embarrass over the fact you have them too?

[ Luke let out a strangled noise, like he honestly thought Tony would let him get away with blatantly lying. ]

It's not that, I just...

[ he paused a moment, glancing away from the screen again, though this time his face was screwed up in annoyance. ]

I hate having them. They remind me of the Emperor.

Of course we're fighting the ice.

[ She doesn't sound surprised. She's not surprised. She's kinda just rolling her eyes a lot at this. It's all in her tone of voice. ]

I'm several times stronger than the average human, I can sense danger. I have heightened senses, agility and stamina. I'm durable, meaning it takes a lot to take me down and I can stick to things.

Most things. Ice is a problem. Can't really stick to that.

[faithfulson]

[ Despite the seriousness of the situation, Luke can't help the mental image of the Spiderkids trying to stick to moving ice, and sliding right off. He pressed his lips together in an effort to fight against a smile, clearing his throat after a moment. ]

I can't imagine these things would be very fast. Your ability to keep ahead of them will work to our advantage.

[ WOW RUDE. ]

Neither can I, but I'll be ready if they are. There's always those small tricks and surprises that monsters and villains have.

[ .. he's.. not sure if he can fight.. ice? Are they talking literal ice here. Are they just going to hack away at some frozen pond. Inigo is slightly confused by what Luke first said, but he continues. ]

Although the problem is that I don't have my usual weapon with me. I can fight with a sword, or even an axe-- but I'd have to find one first.

[faithfulson]

[ Oh... it's his snowball target practice. Luke offered him a sunny smile, wondering how he was going to do in context of his dream. ]

Would you be able to improvise, and procure on sight if needed?

[flatteries]

[ Please Luke, he doesn't want that particular experience to be his legacy.... ]

.. probably. [ He's never really had to, since he always had at least his sword at his side back home, but it doesn't sound impossible. ] As long as there's something remotely like a weapon there. It needs to be sturdy enough.

[faithfulson]

[ Nope, too late. ]

Shouldn't be too hard; just stick behind the battle line until you have a weapon. Once there's an opening, you should be able to slide in.

How well can you take a hit?

[Fëanor is keeping to his own team. Usually, he would have no business with the Purple but right now he needs to ask for a favour. It's a risk. He doesn't know Luke well enough to be sure he can trust him but it's a risk he must take.]

Luke? Can I have a word with you in private? I won't take much of your time.

[faithfulson]

[ Luke seemed to sense the seriousness of the situation, judging from the expression he gave the screen. ]

Of course. I'm at the gym right now; Mr. Stark just left.

[Fëanor comes as he said, immediately. Tension radiates from his every move. Here's one used to making demands and now not in a position to make any. Too proud to ask for help and yet now he must.]

We don't have much time to prepare so I'll get straight to the point. I know you already have your hands full and I don't want to add to your burden. [He pauses. But he does, doesn't he? That's why he came.]

My nephew is on Purple team. Tall, long dark hair. Fingon. I'm sure you'll find he's quite a capable warrior. It's just ... [Another pause.] He's uncomfortable with ice. [That's one way of putting it. And an understatement of a century.] The place we are going to is nothing but.

Please, could you keep an eye out for him?

[A possibility exists he might yet come to regret asking for it. Still, he'd regret more if he haven't.]

[ Luke was just wrapping up his workout, cleaning up the area and wiping down the mats he was using. He looked up as he sensed Fëanor enter, curious when he noticed they weren't on the same team, though he made the reason for his meeting request clear rather quickly. ]

Uncomfortable with ice... or afraid of ice?

[ He wasn't sure where to start with this, not with the information he had at least. ]
