Fellow passengers of the train, good morning! I made a request for an item and I wasn't actually sure if I'd get it or what it would be if I did, but...

[And he shows off what arrived for him... which just basically looks like a large box]

It is mobile suit cockpit simulator! So it's like piloting a mobile suit without actually piloting one!

[He very briefly showed off the inside of it, which looked like a cockpit]

Once I get it to the games carriage, I'm going to take a look at the options already programmed and add as many as I remember. It'll be available for anyone to try out. Also if you have one that would be piloted like that, I can try to add yours.

Action
Quatre can either be found in the luggage carriage, trying to figure out to move this very large object... or he can be found in the games carriage once it has been moved, checking what has already been programmed into the system.

[Quatre had taken the small computer out of it so that he could look through all of the information without having to search it on the cockpit. Also that way he could add and modify things if he wanted to. He still remembered the basic information of how his and the other Gundams handled so he should - in theory - be able to add them in if they weren't there.

Also he could definitely play around with this and see if he could add other suits not from his world.

Everything was still connected at least so all he had to do was put it back when he was done playing around with it.

He looked up as she came in and smiled]

It is going well. Already tested it so it does what it is supposed to do. Checking some of the programming now so I can see how this thing works. Interested in taking a look?

[ Ple Two would be picky about specs... assuming her memory of them was good enough. It's been over a year. ]

I'm curious at least. I haven't been in a mobile suit since I arrived, of course, but this is interestingt.

Of course. Let me just put this back... [He probably didn't need to, but also messing with stuff when software was active was usually a bad thing to do. So to prevent any thing from messing it up, he saved what he was doing and put the computer back before getting up. He moved to the entrance to the simulator's cockpit to show her]

So the cockpit is over here. Having piloted for a while and having seen several different suits, it is standard for mobile suits from my world.

I'm used to cockpits with a much wider range of vision, but it's comparable to others from my world as well.

[ Not that she needed that kind of cockpit with her abilities. ]

Otherwise it looks familiar enough, like learning any new mobile suit with its own control placements.

A wider range of vision? How much more? [There was pretty good almost 180 event with this simulator. True, could be better. The side screens of the earlier OZ suits were smaller than in the newer suits and the Gundams, but even then there was a pretty good blind spot if someone could somehow avoid detection and manage to sit there. Just was not easy to do, considering proximity alarms...

He nodded]

I suspect that even experienced pilots will have a learning curve, but that the simulator will make it easier since that's the point of it.

Panoramic cockpits with a sort of round cockpit surrounded with screens, except where the seat is anchored... but I guess it can still replicate the main camera console. That's more important.

[ She'll cope. ]

Panoramic cockpits?! That sounds amazing! Too bad they aren't here. I would love to see that.

[So totally jealous right now...]

So this is a Federation simulator. At the moment, it just has Federation mobile suits, which are fine. Just not as much fun. But it looks like I can manually enter the information for other suits so I can put in the Gundams from my world and I can work on others as well.

They're standard military technology, but probably a lot more difficult to add a simulator for that as well. ...and a matter of space.

[ So she's not spending her points just yet. ]

What matters is keeping sharp more than anything, I think.

Yeah, might be more difficult for a simulator. At least one that operates like this. Would probably have to be more like an actual cockpit.

[Yes, he'd just heard about it and was already overthinking it]

Yeah. This would at least help with that. Interested in giving it a try?

If you have a preference of type of suit, I can try to make a recommendation. If not, you can pick one and give it a try.

I'm used to specialized Newtype weapons which I doubt you'll have so... anything with long-range precision?

[ A sniper is clearly not the same but still. ]

I'm not sure about Newtype weapons...

Long-range, we'd have... [He presses a few buttons to bring them up so he could show the basic information for them] Leo, ground-type with long range capabilities if equipped; Aries, used in the air, also capable of long range with the right weapons; and Taurus, used in space.

[He'd already looked as much as he could and it didn't appear there was anything of the Zero System here...]

A space unit... that's what I'm most familiar with certainly.

[ The Zero System would NOT be good for her. ]

[To be fair, if he did see Zero System starting, Quatre would definitely be the first to cut the simulator. That was too dangerous to just spring on people]

Then Taurus would be the best option then. It's pretty close to how our Gundams are configured so it's probably the best representation outside of the Gundams.

The last Gundam-type mobile suit I was in was such a wicked looking machine...

[ And huge. And her faction was dropping a colony. Bad stuff. ]

This one might be a little more nimble, though.

Oh? What did it look like?

[He nodded] The Taurus was pretty quick. It was one of their newer designs.

[pleple]

Forty meters tall. Covered in twenty mega beam cannons, among other weapons. ...purple.

[ Slow, but inexorable. ]

I do think a more nimble machine puts my skill to better use, at least.

Forty meters... That is a very big mobile suit indeed.

[He's trying to picture it even though he knows in his head what that should be]

Sounds good. You can start up the simulator for the Taurus and if you have any questions about the controls, I can help with that.

It was something of a superweapon... meant to use a newtype as a singular force in battle.

[ She flicks through settings and such in the simulator. ]

Just another way to use us as mere weapons.

[Quatre frowned] I'm sorry to hear that. It's... easy to forget even in a normal case that there is someone inside the suit that you are fighting because it is essentially a mask. I tried not to forget that. No one is merely just a weapon.

[Several of his teammates had thought they were just weapons or that their life had no purpose if they weren't fighting so he had seen it]

The further away, the more barriers in the way...

[ But there were reasons to fight, regardless. That's why she kept up her training. ]

That's the way it always seems. Granted, there's no mobiles suits that big in here, but if you give me some more details about your suit, I can try and build it in the system as much as possible if you wanted to practice with it.

I might be better off with something simpler anyways. Better practice for the basics.

Probably a good idea. I don't have any of the Gundams loaded yet. Taurus is the most advanced of the set. Leo would be one of the more simpler ones for practicing the basics.
