To those who offered to help with running illusion training, I've drafted a schedule to run through for a first session. Miss Spider, I'm more than happy to come to you! Curufin Fëanorion, Young Hero Casper, Caleb Widogast, Zewu-jun, Wen Sizhui, you make up the rest if you'd like to come to me, though Casper I know we're still seeing how it'd work.

( Then he claps his hands and smiles at the camera. )

To everyone else, we'll be using half the training gym on Merriment Three from morning to mid-day for people wanting to continue or begin training in illusion recognition and breakthrough. It's about time for another mission to end up falling into our laps, so best prepare as we can, ah?

( Lowering his hands, he only pauses to again shake a finger at the screen: )

There are also eleven extra pendants in illusion resistance I had made from people's donated extra crystals! If you'd like to borrow one for training purposes or mission, ask myself or your Team Lead. No promises on effectiveness as of yet, but they may help.

( Cheery wave and then off goes the camera!

ooc: Given how much will be going on wrt mission coming up, at present I'm not planning to put this particular training log up and would say handwave it: this is likely to be ongoing if Wei Wuxian has his way, so future sessions (probably in non-mission months OOCly) will have logs! )

You're a teammate, ah? More than important enough. Besides, we're saving worlds, haven't you heard? Sounds like you definitely qualify for "young hero." You know, just remembering not to do the young heroing all alone.

I would like to at least observe this practice if any participants are willing. Not only would it show me examples of successful resistance, I really want to research these crystals!

I don't see why they wouldn't, but asking each, ah, that may be best? Observation might also mean participation in a passive degree depending on the session, as a warning.

The crystals in particular interest you?

Oh yes. I study them. Crystals are a major power source, magical conduit, and data storage unit on Etheria. I'm very interested in what created these.

Ah! That's fascinating, while they can be used for various things where I'm from, nothing like that. Did you end up claiming any of your own?

Oh, hey, cool! So you got this set up? So uh, what's the set-up? We going to be meditating...?

[ Like they did at the monastery? There's no grimace or anything from the question, but a simple curiosity. ]

Mm! Meditation overviews for anyone who has trouble with it, but this is more like what we've encountered between the last two missions. Following the categories the monastery caverns seemed fond of, so: active mediation in some cases, re-centering of selves in others. Direct fighting secondary to the rest, but for those who specifically want to work with that, we can arrange as much.

Ahh, that sounds like what I was doing when Pi taught me meditating, but I was still bad when it came to the illusions...

[ There's a sigh, a thought - was it because he never really thought to apply that study to the illusions? ...probably. Thinking and being rational are hard tasks for him to apply in the first place...

Mm, it doesn't innately link, but it can help to clam the mind for you to start picking up on what your other senses are telling you. With your meditation, did you gain any awareness of the energies of the world around you?

( Which is the more relevant part, but for Wei Wuxian, meditation is about controlling and recognising those energies, specifically. )

Then we're happy to have you at the training! Is there any specific kind of illusion you had more trouble with, or are they all challenges in their own ways?

Great! Saves people from just dealing with what confusion arrays I can set up for them to navigate out of.

What are your confusion arrays? What do they consist of?

Oh, setting up talismans in an area to keep it and anyone who walks into it contained. There's a wide variety, I just happen to know a few. Think more... wandering lost in mist, can't tell direction, that kind of thing for what I'd manage in a quick and dirty way.

How do the crystals work?

[Anything to extend her own prowess for the sake of the team, but she's also just curious.]

In the sense we know they should, or the sense of what we've tested outside of on world during our three days of intense potential training?

The latter.

[Sometimes, she really hated magic. Technomagic even more so.]

Crystals are a benefit to increasing your resistance to the type of illusion that each crystal addressed, so—environmental ones relying on your enduring what isn't there, the ones which disguise or present as real aspects of your environment around you which must be navigated, the ones which rely on your heart's desires, and the ones which prey on your fears. How much help each one provides is what we don't know, and the monks indicated it was a greater help to the people who were granted a crystal for passing the trials themselves. Yet any crystal helps versus having none at all, to some degree. It'd be convenient to see if we could amplify their abilities, if it's even possible, but we don't presently have the time, and any tinkering I've done to this point hasn't had any visible effect I know of.

I'd be willing to help test pendant effectiveness, as far as I can tell I have little innate resistance to such magic and may be able to provide a ... base line.

Thank you for your willingness! You won't be alone, we'll be on hand to stop things as needed or requested, but it does help to start with people who've minimal resistance to see what we can do to best be helping them work on building that up from the bottom.

Please, come, I don't know if it's the same for you, but half of my earliest run ins with confusion arrays and the rest were with you back home. Insight from your perspective is always welcome!
