To those who offered to help with running illusion training, I've drafted a schedule to run through for a first session. Miss Spider, I'm more than happy to come to you! Curufin Fëanorion, Young Hero Casper, Caleb Widogast, Zewu-jun, Wen Sizhui, you make up the rest if you'd like to come to me, though Casper I know we're still seeing how it'd work.

( Then he claps his hands and smiles at the camera. )

To everyone else, we'll be using half the training gym on Merriment Three from morning to mid-day for people wanting to continue or begin training in illusion recognition and breakthrough. It's about time for another mission to end up falling into our laps, so best prepare as we can, ah?

( Lowering his hands, he only pauses to again shake a finger at the screen: )

There are also eleven extra pendants in illusion resistance I had made from people's donated extra crystals! If you'd like to borrow one for training purposes or mission, ask myself or your Team Lead. No promises on effectiveness as of yet, but they may help.

( Cheery wave and then off goes the camera!

ooc: Given how much will be going on wrt mission coming up, at present I'm not planning to put this particular training log up and would say handwave it: this is likely to be ongoing if Wei Wuxian has his way, so future sessions (probably in non-mission months OOCly) will have logs! )

What are your confusion arrays? What do they consist of?

Oh, setting up talismans in an area to keep it and anyone who walks into it contained. There's a wide variety, I just happen to know a few. Think more... wandering lost in mist, can't tell direction, that kind of thing for what I'd manage in a quick and dirty way.

Oho! And to do that requires talismans? I like your description of the illusion: lost in the mist, can't tell which way is which. [ It almost rhymes. ]. You'd set that up for those who wish to learn how to tell whether or not their environment is an illusion or not? Nice! Say, I'll have to try walking into an illusion made by you, just to see how good you are!

Hah, talismans are one way, and what I'd do here—you could set them up directly on the ground, with particular objects, engraved in living trees, or short term ones in even more creative ways I wouldn't recommend!

( those ways largely involve blood, and in his case, his own blood, so. you know. not a great plan? in fact a terrible one. )

Either way, yes, it'd be for assessing directions of movement and environment illusions, navigating out of one that's keeping you turned around and detecting when something's using that illusion to disguise their movements.

( the fact birds and chains have been part of this equation before should explain approximately nothing and everything at once. )

Hey, someone needs to help test if what I set up is even effective, I'd appreciate the insight!

I really want to see that! These talismans sound so interesting. [ Grin. The creativity that Wei Wuxian wouldn't recommend is intriguing, too. ]

[ The blood sounds like an idea that can easily be left out of any plans for this project. Wouldn't want Wei Wuxian to suffer from blood loss! ]

I'd be willing to give that a try, those assessment methods that you are describing. It sounds very valuable to deal with illusions in that manner.

I'd love to help you with testing whether your setup is effective. I'd use my own means, at least some of the time. And I'd learn from you.

All around, there's nothing but benefits from learning from each other, so why not strive toward that? If you want to head over early the day of I can see about setting up a basic one for you to prod before we get the rest of those interested showing up.

I totally agree with that! If we human beings couldn't learn from each other, or didn't want to, we'd lose most of what makes us human. And by the way, I consider myself to be human, even though I'm an Elf. I believe that there are many different types of human beings, and not all of them have the same heritage or even come from the same world.

All right, I'll show up early on that day, and we'll see about that basic confusion array setup. I can hardly wait to test it. [ Grin. ]

As I continue to have no idea what Elf really means, everyone being human in some grander concept makes enough sense to me. More reasons to unite, because reasons to not are as common as grains of sands in a river.

I'll tell you my history and my world's history sometime, if you're interested in hearing it. But I like what you say humanity as a grander concept. We need such concepts in order to overcome the tendency to split into factions and fail to address the needs of all of us, especially the need not to be destroyed by some external enemy.

[ Wei Wuxian is certainly right about that! -- being trapped all together in a line of train cars doesn't make it easy to unite. It takes determination and the abilty to listen to others. ]

You do that! Set up something interesting. But I don't think you will ever be a disappointment, not to me, anyway.

( He laughs, and knows part of it is the self-awareness that no, no, he certainly can manage to disappoint near anyone, just usually not out of intention. A work in progress these days, but awareness he has, nonetheless.
