Apparently it's not always common but life also falls under my domain. And Entrapta tells me there are a surprising number of people with soul location issues.

I might be able to help, if you're willing to talk to me about it. I'll be in the rock garden if you want to talk about it.

Yes and no. Well...more or less.

See, I was working in exchange for the ghosts trying to get the breathers to say my Name three times. So, I could be seen by the living and interact with 'em.

And the Netherworld is hella dull. 0/5, do not recommend. I have left scathing reviews on Yelp.

Sounds like it must be very different from Hell. More a Fields of Asphodel situation?

It is hell. Sorta. No fire and brimstone, but, eternal paperwork for people who screw up their life by ending it. The Netherworld is kinda like TSA slapped together with an endless labyrinth.

[Beetlejuice rambled cheerfully, with animated little shrugs here and there, and the occasional hand gesture for emphasis.]

....but, t'be fair, there could be something beyond the labyrinth. It's designed so the dead don't escape and walk the Earth and all that shit. Demons are supposed to hang around and kick it in bureaucracy for eternity, so, we don't get to go along for that part of the trip.

The traditional Hell has proven to be an enormous pain for reasons quite outside its purpose.

You make extra-work by messing with your expiration date, you help with the work. Of course, that means working for my mom for eternity, or however long they're assigned....and that's a special kinda hell all its own.
