Llama Day 20- Video

For those of you who were busy during Della's get to know you session, I'm Death. Not a god thereof, just... Death.

Apparently it's not always common but life also falls under my domain. And Entrapta tells me there are a surprising number of people with soul location issues.

I might be able to help, if you're willing to talk to me about it. I'll be in the rock garden if you want to talk about it.

[Feel free to action on over to the gardens to discuss the matter in a less public venue]

[Haneul had kind of figured. Not that nothing affects her, but her perspective is vastly different for a variety of reasons.]

You've seen a lot more than most of us have, probably.

There's that.

[Though he wonders who helps her on those occasions where she does need it.]

Does "the usual" get wearing sometimes?

Even when they're newly dead and freaked out?

[He pauses.]

Though that's when they'd need you the most, so you being tired of it wouldn't be good, especially if they picked up on that.

[So yeah, stupid question.]

Yeah, that was kind of a stupid question on my part.

[He can admit it.]

You had to learn that.

[Which makes a lot of sense, and also makes him wonder how much else she and her siblings had to learn about their roles.

And then he's quiet for a moment.]

There are ghosts back home. Most humans can't see them, and spirits don't generally care for them, and they're often desperate for some kind of contact, to the point where they'll approach any human who might be able to see them. Problem being that the humans they approach are generally not remotely prepared for it, especially when their appearances... make it really obvious how they died.

Yeah...

I honestly don't know. When I first started seeing them, there was nobody around I could tell. I started getting used to it eventually, but it took a long time.

[Granted, he'd been about five years old at the time, but still.]

The spirits are their own thing. They have their own realm that they can go back and forth between, and most of the ones in the human realm don't really interact with humans unless they have a reason for it, even if that reason is "screw around with the spirit-blind." They don't tend to take being seen by humans all that well unless they're making themselves seen deliberately.

[Ask him how he knows.]

But no, if there's a good way to send the ghosts to people used to them, or to send them on, I don't know about it. Then again, I wouldn't.

As far as I know, yeah. I don't really know what causes a ghost to move on, or even if they do. There was a ghost in the old dance studio I taught in back in New York who seemed to hate all the living people, or at least found us actively annoying - I think he mostly stuck around out of spite. On the other hand, there's a little girl ghost in the dance studio I currently teach at - or taught at, before this - who used to have some nasty ghost tantrums until I started giving her dance lessons after hours. She hasn't shown any signs of wanting to move on either, but she also... died very young.

[And then there's a long pause, as something else occurs to him.]

Is time still moving, back home? Or do they just stick us back where they took us from when they decide to send us back?

[Assuming they're actually going back.]
