Hello! Hi. My name is Murphy, pleasure to meet you. Having a great time here, really. Loving the whole 'pre-apocalyptic civilization experience', that's always a favorite but.... Ummmmm.

[He purses his lips for a bit, makes a little popping noise, before continuing.]

Sooooo... there was a tupperware container in the fridge holding an item wrapped in brown paper. Silly me, I didn't think to label it. [Tiny wince. Oopsie doodle.] That item was a human brain. Pretty recognizably a brain. That is my brain, and I'm gonna need that back. [Big smile? Big smile. Come on, do him a solid.]

Yeah. That's probably a good idea. You'll sleep better. Or you'll just sleep, we don't get much choice in that.

[Hey, hey, Murphy hates Zombie apocalypses! They suck. He misses civilization. He just has the great misfortune of being a serum ordained zombie overlord and that actually sucks a lot.]

Really? I've been sleeping like a baby. This is the longest I've gone without hearing a gunshot in months! It's great.

[Deep, deep sigh.]

Well, I was hoping I could just find it by asking. But if it comes down to it, I can track it down by scent.

I just don't really want to do that.

[Because it's creepy, and while he understands he's now creepy by default, he does prefer coming off as civilized as possible.]

Yeah well, let's just say it's not loud noises that causes the lack or sleep.

[ He is not getting into the whole reason for his poor sleep schedule. The last thing he needs is more people joining Team Get Peter Parker to sleep. ]

I'll check the triage car since I'm by it anyway.

I come from a zombie apocalypse. Everyone has seen at least one person they love eaten alive. Hell, I've seen me eaten alive. Had to get the awesome zombie powers somewhere. [He's always going to be bitter over that.]

All the best origin stories are meant specifically to make some person miserable or pissed off enough to act out. [For good or bad.] Take some melatonin and just accept that your PTSD is gonna be ongoing trauma for as long as this train needs us to fight something for it.

[Murphy is harsh about trauma. Partially because seeing people shut down because of it usually ends up in them dying somehow.]

But let's see if I can make one little bit less trauma and find this brain before someone else does and has a meltdown. [So, so exasperated. He even throws up his hands.]

I don't have PTSD. [ At least, he's pretty sure? Yeah, he's got a few triggers and what not but he's fine. Mostly. ] Just, don't like to sleep much. You don't have nightmares if you don't sleep so.

But I-I'm sorry, that-I couldn't even imagine.

I'll let you know if it's in the triage car.

Oh my god, what year are you from? Have they not yet made an afterschool special about PTSD with a famous guest star yet? Complete with garbage music from a band that was popular a decade ago? Nothing?

Lack of sleep because of vigilance? Trauma. Nightmares? Trauma. Except for me, who can't dream anymore.

I'd recommend my shrink to you but he's a whole universe away.

[Doc's a lot more patient and better with kids than he is. But finally he clicks off. He's gonna go investigate the medical car.]
