Hello! So, Vee did that game where everyone got to ask it three questions. And I thought it seemed kinda fun. It would be a fun way to get to know everyone here. So I think it should be a game for everyone to play.

If you can do this.... Caw, ICP? Thingy. And talk to people. Let people ask you three questions and use it to get to know people! And even if you're the kind of person who doesn't care about getting to know people, it's still worth trying, because if we're all on teams and going on missions together, the more we know about each other, the better we can work together. Tactics, battle strategy, abilities, knowledge, strengths and weaknesses... And things like personality, history, all of that. The more we know about each other, the better we'll be.

Why not? I'm Persephone, goddess of spring,and I'm at least part of the reason we're kept in decent amount of fruits and vegetables. Plant growing powers. [She wiggles her fingers] So uh, ask me something?

Have you ever wanted to hold dominion over a different aspect, or were you assigned the most suitable role?

Huh. That's... difficult to answer. This is who I was made to be. I am spring in a manner of speaking. I guess I would have liked a more important role in our pantheon, if given the choice, but I think I'll have to make my own importance. But I can't think of a specific 'aspect' that suits me.

[eyeslikeblood]

[ He laughs, though he quickly tempers himself back into smiling only faintly. ] Apologies, it's hard to imagine a god governing springtime being seen as unimportant. It was a good answer. May I ask another?

When your mother is the goddess of grain, the harvest, agriculture, and a dozen other things, being the goddess of basically flowers kinda gets overshadowed. [Her tone is wry and self deprecating but there's a hint of genuine defeat in there, at the end. ] Not to mention all the other gods with their far reaching domains. But sure, go ahead.

[His smile lilts understanding.]

I'm sure it's different to those from a world where their children do not grow on trees. Hmm. Where did you live? In the heavens, or among the people?

Well I was currently living in Olympus, the traditional realm of the gods, but I grew up in the mortal realm, in Sicily. My mom didn't really approve of how they were running things in Olympus, some personal things, so we lived in a beautiful valley near but apart from the humans.

I... Wait do your people grow on trees?

[the solitary life of a sage, it sounds like. he can understand why she might have felt overshadowed.]

Yes, all life grows from the fruit of the white trees. It seems to be a unique method, from all I've heard aboard. [a thought occurs to him, and he laughs.] Actually, as the ruler, it falls to me to pray to the heavens for new plants. In another world, I might have been praying to you.

How strange! It at least, strange for me, I've never heard of that way of creating life. Seems a little round about but I'm sure you'd find the methods we use just as odd. [It makes her wonder if they have family structures, if all life is only created through trees or just human life. Do the trees keep fruiting or--Her cheeks flush and she waves it off] Yes, well, probably my mother. Or maybe both of us, we get that sometimes. But regardless, you have your own gods, I assume? The ones that bestow the trees?

Yeees? [She drags it out as she thinks] I need water. Uh--maybe in the garden? There are little river things in there. I'll just have to ask.

Are you after the flower or the root?

You are the one that makes it so we have fruits and vegetables on the train...? [She wants to thank you, if so.]

Are you limited to certain ones or do you take requests...?

Well others plant as well but I can keep things in blossom or fruit as needed. [Grin] I don't eat meat or fish so I have a bit more incentive to keep us all stocked. Considering that's most of what people think to gather on worlds.

Have you ever had tofu? I know the logistics to make it, but I've never done it myself. It is a great alternative source of protein instead of meats or fish.

I do like fish and meat. Octopus used to be strictly carnivorous, but we branched out to other foods.

Ohh, tofu is good though! Can you make soy beans?

It is really good, and I bet we could make it here on the train easy enough.

[Count her amused, watching this back and forth] Firstly, no, I've not had tofu and I'm not... Entirely sure I could make a soybean plant. I'm not really sure if I've seen one. If you ordered some soybeans, I could grow them.

[It seems obvious now, but the idea of ordering something so mundane never occurred to her.]

OK, first of all, thanks. For the fruits and veggies I mean; I tend to do a decent amount of cooking even when it's not Blue team's turn, so they're super handy.

Now the actual question: what kind of edible plants would you suggest for someone without magical plant powers and who's never really done any gardening before to start out with?

Mint is pretty foolproof but isn't super useful unless you really like mint tea or mint jam. Most herbs are pretty easy honestly. Tomatoes are easy. Or at least I think so...I might not be the best person to ask, I only really do gardening by hand when I'm feel like I should be closer to mortals and their struggles..[She waves her hands] Not that you're struggling! You just don't have, you know, magical plant powers.

Did you want me to save the seeds from any fruits and veggies I cook with if I can? Or can you just magic the plants into existence without them?

I tend to just save seeds from new plants, ones I'm not familiar with. I can create most plants that I already know from scratch. So don't worry too much about saving seeds. Oh, unless you bought something new or just from your world. I'm kind of collecting new plants from the world we visit

And for my third question, as our resident plant person, perhaps you can settle the eternal debate. Tomatoes: do you consider them a vegetable or a fruit?

Technical definitions aside, vegetable. Who ever uses a tomato like a fruit? No one.

Exactly! Whatever science says, sometimes you just gotta go with the practical definition.

Though that does make me wonder what other fruits and veggies we might be technically naming wrong. Everybody knows about the tomatoes thing, but there's bound to be others...
