Um...hi.

[It's a female's voice, lower and calm--not quite deadpan.]

So, I came on board recently, and my name is Raven. I'm on the purple team.

[Awkward introduction is awkward, but none of that should be showing through in her manner.]

I've met some of you already.

[There's a pause and a slow blink, and now the awkwardness is showing somewhat.]

I'm speaking out though, because of the aftermath of the inspections. I'm an Empath--I sense emotions basically. I've been trained since I was very young though in my control over it, and I respect privacy a lot. Mostly because I'd want mine respected.

But I can also project my empathy--which is why I'm speaking up. If you're feeling overwhelmed or panicky and it's left over from the void-particles or whatever, if you want I can help you calm down.

[There's a shrug, and the awkwardness is definitely there now. If anyone has questions, now is a good time to ask them.]

[ Luke nodded, pausing as he thought of how to explain the everything that was his father. ]

He's a... very large, very powerful man, though he was heavily injured in the past. He hasn't told me why, and considering how much of him relies on machinery just to live, it's not hard to see why he doesn't like talking about it.

I can see from that alone, how the Inspectors would've reminded you of him, but the way you said it--it seems like it was more. I'm guessing your father can use the Force too?

Yes.

[ A small smile came to his face. ]

My father is very strong in the Force; he's the one that's been teaching me.

I should probably be worried about that, considering what the Inspectors felt like. But...that was what was weird, and I just...

[Raven sighed, trying not to fidget.]

I feel like...you might understand.

[ Luke paused, tilting his head. ]

...your own father?

[Okay, that fidgeting wasn't happening but she was definitely nervous. Crossing her arms, and quiet while she thought about what to say. How much was safe to say.]

I...don't have a good relationship with him. Not the way you seem to with yours. Unlike yours though, it's a good thing--there is no good in mine. No light. Only destruction, and a desire to conquer and subjugate.

[Her voice had gotten softer, clear that this was hard to share and she was trusting him.]

There's nothing wrong with that.

[ Luke gave her a gentle smile at that. ]

It's the responsibility of the next generation to call out those that came before when they do wrong. There is nothing wrong with being against that, regardless of your relation to them.

[He had it both oh so right, and oh so wrong. It made Raven snort softly to herself, but she also couldn't be mad. She could feel how earnest he was, feel the 'light' in him, as it were.]

It's...not easy to share. I hid it from my friends back home for as long as I could.

[Her voice was still soft, cowled head down, trying to not huddle in on herself.]

He doesn't believe he's wrong. He also could care far less, about what I want. Or need. I'm a 'tool' to him--something I never wanted to be, and have fought against my whole life. It's....I hope this train and the places we go are far far away from any influence he has or can get.

[There might've been a hint of venom near the end in her voice. Along with the rattling of the booth slightly, in response to the vehemence of her emotion.]

[ Luke was silent a moment, his expression hard to read. Oh, he understood very well what that was like, though not from his father. The Emperor treated him in a similar way; not overtly, not yet, but considering what happened to his father? He didn't need to imagine what would happen if he allowed his venomous whispers to poison his mind. ]

[ He already got a taste of it as it was; he was in no mood for a repeat. ]

[ After a moment, Luke pressed his hands together before him. ]

And what would you do if he were to appear? Either as invited on this train, or in direct opposition to us?

I can't see him being here and not being in opposition. He'd destroy anyone who opposed him, and likely only use anyone else until they were useful before they'd be discarded.

[There were no external signs of how difficult this was, not from her powers at least. Instead she crossed her arms and her voice was still quiet.]

He's already sent a messenger after me once. Threatening me, hurting my friends...

[But that wasn't necessarily an answer to Luke's question.]

I'd run, but I'm not sure where I'd go to if he could find me in the void. I won't be used as a tool though, fulfill a destiny I never wanted or asked for.

And what would we do, if you were able to run away?

[ Maybe it was an unfair question to ask, considering he didn't know the exact circumstances of what her father was really like. So far he had gathered "Emperor levels of bad", and that was certainly enough for him to be worried about their chances. ]

[It was a necessary question, fair or not. Raven sighed softly, and curled up more in her cloak if it were possible.]

Hopefully, he'd leave you be unless you got in his way. The same with his messenger. But just from talking with you, and a few others---I think you'd all make it a point to get in his way.

[There was another sigh, and Raven did her best to meet his eyes from under her cowl. Dark purple, and young-and-old. Or rather, young but forced to be mature and grow-up fast.]

I don't think he can get here, without using me as a portal. That's why he needs me--as a way in to the dimension back on Earth.

We're all rather stubborn individuals that won't let anyone walk over us. The majority of us would stand and fight.

[ He smiled faintly, knowing very well that he would be counted among those people. ]

If I may ask, how does he use you as a portal?

"I don't know. The prophecy doesn't specify. Only that it's apparently what I was 'born' to do."

[Raven definitely sounded young there, or at least lost where normally she was far more in control.]

I...I'm trusting you, with all of this. Because I think you understand. From what you talked about, with your Father.

[Now her head ducked, arms crossing as she shrank into her cowl.]

I'm sorry to surprise you with it.

[ So it would be foolish to dismiss the possibility of her father deciding to force his way into the void, especially if he discovered that the train to travel the multiverse. The thought of someone with the same callously evil motivations as the Emperor having free access to countless other worlds... yeah, no. He was going to make sure that never happened. ]

It's no trouble, Raven.

Easy for you to say.

[It had slipped out, and she didn't mean it meanly. Quiet for a moment, taking a deep breath or two.]

...I don't usually trust easily, and this--this is a big deal, at least for me. But from our conversation, and just how you feel. You feel trustworthy, but I'm still sorry to spring this on you.

[ Luke let out a soft noise. ]

I don't trust easily either, but I sense your honesty... and I understand your concern. I appreciate you coming to me about this.

[Hopefully he couldn't sense her legitimate fear as well, and worry, and anxiety over the subject of her father. Raven worked hard to school her emotions and keep herself calm, and aside from that one instance of making things in the room shake, she'd done a decent job.]

...thank you. I...just...I'm not sure who to trust yet, but I need to trust someone.
