MISSION RELATED - After Curufin's Vision Post, Imagination 6
[Well, everything that vision sounds like is terrible. Extremely terrible. Fire, screams, dust...
Emporio comes on the screen looking a little wound up, but otherwise quite focused and determined. He could probably have waited until they got to where they're going but...
He doesn't know that there would be time for this after that.] ...Does...anyone here have the power to change things like the weather, or...stop fire, or clean air..?
...I have something that can, but I don't think that if anything bad happens, I can do that kind of thing alone. I mean...it's...they're really strong, but I don't want to think something like 'I can definitely do that'.
...Where I came from though, I read about a theory from home- there used to be all kinds of giant animals, 'dinosaurs' and things, until a meteor hit the planet. But what killed them wasn't the meteor. I mean...I guess some of them it was, but what happened was the dust from the crash filled the air. It clouded the sky, and blocked the sun, for years. That's the theory at least, but it makes sense- if there was only initial consequence, then the rest of the planet's life should have been fine right?
...what I'm saying I guess is... ...Even though something might hit the planet, maybe we can do something after that too, if that happens. ...I want to try.

[Video] Definitely later in the day
[It's definitely a simplification, she knows, but:]
It's not my specialty as a wizard, but I've dealt with environmental protection before. 'Stopping fire and cleaning air' are doable too, though it'd take a lot of power to scale things up big enough.
And you're right about the dinosaurs, too; if we don't get a chance to stop whatever's going to hit...
Not going to lie, depending on how large whatever's coming down there is, there may not be much left to help. But we have to try, and you've got my support, at least.

Weather can affect anything relating to the weather. He even made it rain dart frogs once. But he can also affect the smaller points- changing the chemicals in the air.
...I think... ...I think though, there should at least be enough worth saving right? ...Even with the dinosaurs, some of those lived to become birds, didn't they? And sharks and alligators, their ancestors had to survive too. A lot of things made it through- it's not right to say it's all over if anything does come to that point. Even if a little survives...that's something.
no subject
Wait- why dart frogs?
... But, yeah, exactly. And further, there are billions more insects than almost any vertebrate species on Earth; they've always been there, so I won't be surprised if it's the same where we're going.
no subject
But yeah! And... ...I guess if it's not a meteor then we don't know either... [He rubs his head, a little embarrassed.] ...I guess I just couldn't think of anything else that would make people see a red sky like that...it feels like something from a movie...
no subject
Obstacle for what?
[A pause.]
Nevermind.
[Nita's expression now is a wry one.]
And yeah, it does. I wouldn't want to watch any of those movies in the name of research right now, though.
no subject
[Annnnnd she's moved on with a nevermind, so nevermind that, he determines.]
...Right. ...I'm going to try and make a plan I guess. For anything with fire in the air, since...I guess they knew that much at least right?
no subject
And Nita nods.]
That's a good start, for sure. If you think you're going to need more power, or ways to cover other angles, well- we're here to help, remember that.
[For better or worse, they're in this together.]

...I...think?
...that didn't really come out right... ...I know that Weather has the ability to do it. I... ...before, the one who used him before me, he was able to affect the entire area of Florida...
...I don't want to make that kind of promise though. If there are others here who can do that kind of thing... ...I think it would be better than just hoping I can make it work, if that makes sense.
no subject
That's all right, you don't have to promise. None of us have powers that are absolutely predictable. Just keep hoping!
no subject
And I guess I realized it could be a lot of other things we have to face too but... [Well. The nervousness on his face says pretty clearly that thinking about too many what ifs is even worse than worrying about the first one he thought of.]
...Yeah. Just keep hoping...right..!
no subject
True. We don't always know all the things we'll have to face on a particular mission. But I guess the smartest thing to do is worry about one thing at a time.
What are your powers, Emporio? You've spoken of what Weather can do, but not in detail. I'm interested.
no subject
Umm... ...well...he can fight with his fists, [he starts, looking at his own,] Which is something I used last mission...I figured out that he can manipulate a lot of the properties of water really easily too- by icing his hands, he was able to fight the fire monsters without burning our fists. Making water, and making water into ice, and vice-versa, comes pretty naturally- it's the same with making clouds. But he can also control pretty much anything you would associate with the weather...and the use of the clouds was pretty incredible before I was connected to him.
Most of what I've done is make rainstorms, or wind gusts...I changed the air within a room once though- air is made of a few different chemicals. People talk about oxygen as a vital resource, but breathing pure oxygen is actually toxic- I... [He swallows, looking away as the incident he's referring to catches up to his thoughts.] ...It was the best way for me to survive at that time, I guess. I didn't realize I was even doing it...I just knew what was happening, and thought, 'this must have been something they prepared for the one to take Weather next'...
...But that's what he did. He reduced all of the air in the room to pure oxygen.

[ Alice sounds slightly curious. Emporio sounds so serious about it - and who can blame him, really, he's just a child considering the possibility of the place getting struck by a meteor, of course he'd be serious and worried about it. But.. ]
Do you think that's what was going on in those dreams? [ The description she heard sounded pretty vague, after all. And Alice has never even considered meteors before to a point where she'd make the connection at all.. ]
when ur brain misremembers things and u gotta play catchup for the IC stuff like-
[He's had too much time growing up to just imagine what's in books, he supposes.] I guess it could also be a volcano? Or maybe something completely different...we were just somewhere with magic I guess...
[...he's sounding a little more disheartened each time- he's getting farther away from the stuff he can recognizably help with after all!]
oh no the big mood
Emporio.
You're using what may be the most effective move of all on Alice - the disheartened little kid voice. There's absolutely nothing that works quicker to get her to mentally backpedal a little. Alice may seem callous, but she couldn't forgive herself for ever upsetting an innocent child, after all. ]
.. It's alright. [ Her voice is firm, but at least now she's firmly reassuring him instead. Even if it's while trying to not seem too reassuring since it's embarrassing.. ]
You wanted to help, right? That's very brave of you. Do you think Weather Report could help in any of those other scenarios? [ Maybe she can still let him feel he's contributing... ]
ripperoni pepperoni...
...I read about volcanoes once, and I think it's mostly stuff that comes through the air that would cause problems too... ...I think as long as it's something that's affected by the air, or by water, I can do something...
no subject
[ Maybe she's a little too calm in the face of.. well, whatever hellscape those visions were predicting, but really, Alice has had worse.
After a while it makes it a lot easier to see things relative to that. ]
I'm fairly good at dealing with threats. Bad people, monsters, the like. But that vision didn't quite sound like it was being caused by some sort of monster, did it?
no subject
They said the sky was on fire, and red...there were screams, and it was in a jungle, but that's it. It doesn't seem like a monster though...

[....Nike doesn't normally speak about her powers unless it is on a need to know basis. But in this case, she supposes she can make an exemption.]
You're not wrong. About the planet, I mean. They are normally tougher than they look. As long as its core doesn't receive a devastating hit, then it can survive all types of situations.
It can heal as well.
[A pause.]
I don't know about dinosaurs, but I do know my own world lost two different civilizations due to a global weather disaster. It almost ended humanity if it wasn't for the courage of those willing to take a gamble. Without them, I wouldn't be alive right now.
[The topic of her world was very raw to her. A detail she will realize after mentioning it. Looking down, she'll decide...]
I doubt I'll be able to control the weather the same way as I did back home, but I can help with cleaning the air! If we work together, I'm sure we can figure something out, right?
no subject
[That aside, woah!] Spirits too..? [He can't help but be a little amazed about that. It's enough to keep him quiet as Nike explains- his eyes widening as she describes the matter of two civilizations crumbling under the weather.
Slowly, he nodded.] R- Right!
I guessed the 'worst' thing right away when I started talking, [he admits, rubbing the back of his head,] ...But at the very least, the people who had visions said the sky was filled with fire, and red...so whatever is going to happen, we at least know it's in the air..! So working together to clear it has to be key!
[Fortunately for both apparently, it's just a visual thing in the end...]

[She has no idea what the other boy's world was like nor other worlds, so she won't assume that all worlds are similar. Not until they get into the new world.]
That's right. It somehow got included along with my environmental telepathy.
[It was difficult to disagree with the young man. Not to mention his earlier request for help. Does that mean...?]
Sure. I don't mind giving it a try. What can hurt? [A pause.] You know how to control the wind too...?
no subject
...I wouldn't say I know how, but it's more like...if I focus enough on what needs to be done, it should happen. Stands are...strange I guess. It feels less like it's 'conscious' and more 'unconscious' sometimes...I'm still getting used to them...
no subject
Are you saying the being is known as Weather Report -- gives you the power to control the winds -- used to belong to someone else beforehand?
[No, wait, maybe not belong to someone or rather...]
Weather Report used to have a different partner before you?
[Spirits being shared would be a possibility, even to her world's standards. After all, everyone born within the original royal family has the potential to become rain summoners. It isn't just exclusive to the royal family. Could it be the same issue for this boy? She was trying to understand the meaning of "stands".
A conscious but unconscious force? It sounds a little like her connection to her world whenever she activates her power. Could the stand be the mediator between him and the world? A small smile will form, wondering.]
You know, the way you just described the relationship between you, your stand, and the world sounds similar to my own situation. [Not to mention.] Have you figured out a way to activate your stand to get things done? Or are you still figuring it out? [He was beginning to remind her of her child self. The version who couldn't summon the winds or weather, no matter how much she focused and practice to sing.]
no subject
The one who he was connected to before though...he didn't know his name. He just asked everyone to call him the same thing, so trying to explain that 'Weather Report' makes things kind of confusing... ...I don't think normally it would be possible to pass a Stand to someone though. I guess...because he really wanted them to help through someone else, it worked though?
[Ahhh....Hmm.] I just kind of...think about it? ...Sometimes he just does things anyway, without my prompting though....
