Hey, got a quick question for the magic people on the train who used books to learn! Any of you got any book titles you can share? Or know how a guy can learn to summon, get fiends or...uh, [ His voice grows quiet, but still audible. ] What should I call them?

Yes... It sounds like there are lots of people who come from places where you can use magic even if you are not... innately magical. So you could learn too.

[Thank you for the save Tidus, it's much easier to turn this on Inigo than try and deal with how much faith Inigo apparently has in him.]

Why do you always ruin these moments, bro. Man. Dude. Inigo knows you're perceptive enough to notice what he's trying to do here, so why! But whatever, it's too late to push for his own narrative now.. ]

Oh.. [ He laughs, rubbing the back of his head. ] You can actually do that in my world too. No one is just born with magic there, it's all learned. I've just never had the talent for it.

[ Oh you bet he knows, Inigo...! ]

You don't wanna try again? Learn some moves with your sword? You can learn to move faster, like me! Why don't we all learn a new skill?

You could learn with me. [He smiles] Magic I mean... [Obviously not sword work, he can practice that with Tidus.]

What skill do you want to learn, Tidus?

[ Maybe the skill to be nicer to his good friends!!

Okay, no. Inigo has learned. No more bickering with Tidus or teasing him in Taiki's presence, unless they want it to end in sadness. He's holding his tongue! ]

Well.. I guess I wouldn't mind learning if we were doing it together.. [ Although he's a little worried about ending up as the one who falls behind..!! ] Hanging out while learning would make it more fun for sure.

Well, I was learning some magic already... but what if we learn with you, whenever you get books or...someone to help you out? Like that! [ Ah- ] You two joining me in somethin' I'm already doing might make it better too. I mean, for me... but also help the two of you too!

That would be good... It would be nice to learn with friends. [He still says friends like it is a word to describe the most precious of things. Which it is.]

Samata says her magic... doesn't need any magical ability, just maths. I think learning that will probably be... our best option.

[Tidus clearly has magical ability already, but Inigo doesn't and he... He has no idea. His horn has healed enough for him to consistently feel the ouki but beyond that? He doesn't know.]

I think I might be more doomed if we're going to have to rely on math than on magical ability..

[ Not that Inigo has any magical ability - not innately, anyway. But that says something about just how much he dreads the idea of math. He's hardly even learned much in his own time, how would he be supposed to adapt to future math?! And that's even aside from how boring it'd be! ]

Joining Tidus might be a better idea. And more fun. Though we'll definitely need some books to learn. [ We can't all have glowy hands, okay. ] People were able to learn magic where I come from as well without being born with it.. I could see if I can maybe order some of those books Laurent always used to read back home? He was great with magic. And I'm.. at least fairly sure it doesn't involve numbers.

[ Inigo wasn't the only one internally grimacing at the mention of maths. Ugh, maths, in his magic? Magic was pain enough to learn...! ]

Yeah... let's see what Inigo's books can come up with! Doesn't hurt to check out all our options. [ Especially any without maths. ] But you should see how it goes with Samata too, Taiki. You... want us to join in with you though? As support.

Taiki guesses his world is more like his own. Like Tai. He doesn't know really much about education there... But then again... Inigo was a prince so surely he learned some things...]

Inigo dreads every single part of this. He can feel every part of his mind scream out at the very thought of having to deal with math magic. But Taiki is.. he's using that tone! He's saying that thing again, and there's nothing in this world Inigo wouldn't do just to make sure Taiki is okay. ]

No! We'll do it! [ He doesn't miss a single beat before answering. There's no other option. ] How could we ever not want to do something together with you?

[ Uh oh--oh, oh no, great! There's a split second where Tidus thinks he'll have to speak up, be the one to wrangle Inigo into this. But no, Inigo actually gets there before him, and Tidus feels the relief go through him, not missing his opening once it's there. ]

Exactly! We'll go. I'm the one convincing you to do this, so I should go.

[ He puts a hand on Taiki's shoulder, smiling at him. ] No problem!

Um... As long as you are both sure. [A glance to Tidus, smiling at the hand on his shoulder and then at Inigo through the screen.]

If you find it boring or hard or... anything you don't have to... It will be fine.

[ Inigo laughs. ]

[ bro even Tidus isn't going to go that far (maths??? in his magic?!), buut- ]

We're gonna check it out. That's settled. Whatever happens after, we're still gonna be learning something new. That's a promise.

[ Whether it involves maths or else! ]

[He nods, happy that they will both at least try.] Is there anything you want to learn Tidus?

[After all he was working so hard on helping them find new things to learn. He's not sure what Tidus might want to learn though, he doesn't seem the type to put anything off.]

[ Look. Look. Inigo understands how the last Teasing Each Other In Front Of Taiki situation went down. He remembers! But this isn't negative teasing, okay, it's positive teasing! Surely Taiki wouldn't think they're actually mad at each other just because Inigo cracks a light joke. ]

Actually, [ if Inigo is going to get all SASSY over there!!, ] I've been learning energy manipulation--ki training, with Piccolo! And I had to pick up meditation to do it. So I was figuring Inigo could join me in that and give him some start learning how to do all that--energy bending. Messing with it. You know?

[ He waves a hand, like yeah that makes sense right. ]

I'm using it to learn to move faster, and higher!

[ That counts, right!! ]

[This kind of teasing is fine, he understands this kind of teasing and he smiles. Because even if it is a tease it is a real question, Tidus is capable of so much!]

Mostly and these two help him and teach him so much that he wants to pay them back, even if it is in such a small way.

[ Not that Inigo likes the idea of meditation a whole lot. He's probably just going to get lost in his own anxious thoughts if he's going to have to be quiet and think.. But not like he's going to admit that out loud. ]

That kind of thing sounds like it'd be pretty handy in battle. [ Especially since he wouldn't need to learn actual magic for it - it would just help his natural way of fighting. ] You should definitely help though, Taiki! If you want, that is. You can be the meditation teacher. At least I know you wouldn't be hard on us!

I wouldn't mind the company! I...usually go inside one of the quit rooms to do it.

[ Which he admits, somewhat sheepishly. He'd like to say it's because he can't concentrate well, but it's half that, half because he's embarrassed.....

But despite that, he brightens back up his tone. ] I'll need to introduce you to Piccolo, Inigo. He's the one who knows more about ki than me. I'm no good explainin' that stuff.

[ 'That stuff' that lets him use overdrives, blah blah blaaah. ]

Okay. [He nodded, he would teach them, though he was sure other people would know much better than him. He had only learned a little bit after all when he was very young.

He doesn't know Piccolo very well but it's good he is helping Tidus with his training.]

[ Look how nice Inigo is being. (Or maybe it's because of Taiki's presence in this conversation, who can say.) But either way, he's not pointing out Tidus's sheepishness in the slightest, just letting it slip by without embarrassing the other.

But he might be making a bit of a face when Tidus gets to the other part of what he's saying. ]

[ Please. No. Inigo has had enough of strict teachers to last him a lifetime, and he hasn't had to deal with one for years now! ]

Yup, but he's a good guy! He just expects you to do what he says. Has one of those kind of faces, but he's not as bad as he looks, you know?

It will be fine Inigo, I'm sure you will do great. [And have no reason to fear stern looks.]
