It's come to my attention, that aside from a woefully inadequate medical supply, this trip appears to be lacking in medical personnel.

It should be known that for about three years I've been acting in the capacity of a doctor where I come from.

I'm a scientist, but I did a lot of study in the medical field, traveling around the world and learning how to deal with different pathogens in my early teenage years.

I have treated and diagnosed illnesses, injuries and performed surgery including an IV blood transfusion.

The reason for telling you this, is if you require medical attention, you can come and find me and I'll help you.

[A pause, he remembers his conversation with Minako.]

I'm also happy to answer any scientific-related questions pertaining to any of the scientific-related fields, such as geology, physics, biology, chemistry, engineering and mathematics to name a few. Minako told me to mention that. [He shrugs slightly.]

There are actually several medically trained personnel on the Train, but perhaps there needs to be more communication?

But please do not discount those of us with low-tech or magical backgrounds? I served the Lord of Imladris for three thousand years, and know how to make the healing salves for which he was famous.

I am also able to speed healing with my...the glow that I exude. It also aids with mental clarity and mood.

Yeah, maybe, or I haven't talked to enough people. Either way, the information is there. If no one ever needs my help, that's fine by me.

[ He shakes his head a bit, it's not his passion, it's just a skillset he has. ]

I can't answer to magic, I don't know anything about it, but I haven't said anything about the level of technology. I've studied in high tech environments, but the medicine I've practiced is without all of the technology behind me. Technology is obviously better, but I've studied extensively enough how more traditional medicine works.

I just know what is in the medical car is not the least bit sufficient, and the lack of antibiotics in particular concerns me. This is a small enclosed space, if someone gets sick, we're all going to get sick.

Glorfindel knows all too well the effects of an epidemic on humans, though few things can effect an elf, and so far nothing had effected him in this life.

"Glad to hear it," Glorfindel said warmly. "I am intending, now that I am growing the plants, to make enough of the healing salve for everyone to have some on the mission. It will allow for quicker healing of minor injuries and bruises without tying up the resources we need for the major injuries. Plus, used in conjunction with other healing, can speed the recovery from a major injury."

A healing salve? Useful.

[ He's not unfamiliar with this, not at all, and he's used it himself, although it's entirely possible they aren't taking about the same plants, or if there's magic involved, he certainly doesn't know any, but the basics, he knows. ]

It would be good to keep infection at bay, and potentially soothe any pain.
