Hullo! Not seeing any sign otherwise so I think it's safe to assume we're all back safe and sound. Which is excellent-however this last mission I think took a lot more than normal for everyone so if you were injured, feeling a little more fatigued or just generally off then I'd like you to come by the medical carriage for a quick check up!

I'm very good at it and I promise it won't take but a tick and you can get back to whatever else it is you do on the train.

Just let me know if you're coming and I'll make time.

Oh, I should probably mention, for those that don't know-I'm the Doctor.

He doesn't say anything at first-instead he just uses the sonic to pan over that cat and clicks his teeth.

"Nice try." He says simply. "But that's not what the sonic is telling me and I haven't really noticed an abundance of fish on the train. Not this month anyways-I suppose we'll see what the next one brings.

"One of my friends said he'd bring some back fur me. So that's how the sonic is supposed to work?" Given how he's seen it used before he's never been fully sure. Well, at least he could have fin figuring out what he knows of the Doctor is core to the Doctor and what of it is the influence of the City of Change, he supposed. "Are you sure you calibrated it based on the time signature of my home world and not Nautilus where time is broken?"

Did this Doctor react to something like that like the four he knew would have? Time to find out.

"What?" The Doctor asks, looking down at his instrument. "It doesn't work any one way-it works lots of ways." He explains before storing it back in his pocket. "Lovely and quick way to read vitals on someone-among other things." He doesn't react that at all-he'd hear Nita mention it once before he'd already explained to her that he didn't remember that.

"Sorry, time works a bit differently for me-your past with me might not necessarily coincide with my past. It might actually be my future-or a different version of me since the multiverse is a thing to consider here."

"Yeah, I was kind of hoping that wasn't the case though," he said a bit glumly. "Sorry, I can just leave you be if you want. I don't think the yous I met are from your future, given the mural. So that means a whole other set of yous, and this you shouldn't have to deal with the people the other you chose to spend time with."

He jumped down off the exam bed, intending to leave. With so many people recovering from the mission he suspected he could find an empty quiet car where no one would see him transform to cry it out for a while.

He hurt all over. He missed everyone from home and everyone from Nautilus so much that it just... hurt.

But as he kept telling Adrien and Ten... no one wanted a sad cat. His job was to make people laugh and comfort them. So until he could do that... he needed to go away for a while...
