Morning of Grasshopper Day 4 [video]
[ In Cabin 2:A, Curufin flails and falls out of his bunk with a crash, as usual when having a prophetic dream. Sorry, roommates! He disentangles his legs from the blankets, gathers himself up from the floor, grins with embarrassment at his long-suffering roomies, and then he scrambles over to the ICP on the little table. ]
Ah. . . good morning, Void Warriors. It seems I've had another premonitory dream, and like the others, it must be about the next mission. There wasn't anywhere near as much detail in this dream as in the others, though, and I don't know what to make of it.
There was just a clamor as of a battle taking place, but the sounds receded. [ Wry laugh. ] I must not have been in that fight, or I'd have known it!
Then suddenly there was a blaring alarm, maybe one of those modern sorts that they put on emergency vehicles or on buildings to warn of tornado weather? I had the feeling that some danger was approaching, even aside from the fact of the alarm. And then it screamed out again.
That's all. [ He scratches his head in puzzlement. ]
Jeez, I need some coffee.

I wish you well on this next mission. [ And he hopes you're not getting tackled! ] How do your visions work, Katsuya? Did you see something more specific than I did?

[Well he's gone this far.] Sometimes 's jus' hearin' somethin', but tha's normally a matter 'f bein' awake. Kinda hard t' go around if yer seein' another version of th' world while you're wanderin' around another, I figure. Not tha' it doesn' happen... [He grumbles, moving on.]
...Anyway...if it ain' symbolic, it'll be literal. Somethin' happens, an' it will happen'.
An' in this case tha' means I'm gonna go down a tunnel, an' get tackled by somethin'.
[He immediately hates it.] ...Gonna be real, I'm hopin' 's some kinda alien dog but w' my luck I ain't holdin' my breath...

Oh, I see. And I understand. If you're wide awake when you have a vision, you're seeing two worlds at the same time. I've had that experience, so I know how disconcerting it can be.
[ He nods. ] The symbolic visions can be hard to interpret. But the literal ones are not!
Listen, you be careful when you enter those tunnels, and make sure you always have backup. If you get tackled by something, it might not be an alien dog. We do tend to get stuck with monsters on these missions.

[He can't tell if it's better or worse that he tends to just freeze in place for those ones these days.
But, for now, he simply settles for grimacing.] Yeah, trus' me I know tha' much. I jus' know it's gonna suck either way. [Great, they would have to deal with monsters constantly, wouldn't they.] Guess I'll have t' hope I'm armed by then 'r somethin'...
[He Isn't.] ...Uhh. ...Thanks f'r th' advice though, I guess?
[The lack of experience in talking to anyone familiar with this sort of thing is...rather clear.]
