Sooooo, not being able to talk to most of the train that day sucked, huh? I don't know what to think about any of that, but since we can talk to each other now, I was thinking: How about we share where we're from, and see who's from worlds like ours?

And who speaks the same languages too! An actual list be better if that ever happens again, but for now, tell us about the kind of place you're from, what makes home home to you! You got kings or dragons? Machines? Portals to other worlds? Talking sea life? You just trying to get through school?

I'll go first to give you guys an idea, but share whatever you feel like!

[ She wants to believe that. The people here have been pretty nice about all of that, and some even have powers of there own. Still, it's hard to forget about all the hate back home. ]

Yeah...there have been some problems with how people view those with powers. But we're doing our best to get through it. [ She shrugs. ] That's all we can do, really.

[blitzcheer]

[ He gives something of a sympathetic tug of a smile. ]

There was another guy who's from a world like that too. ...or, sort of? I think he said he was from an Earth as well. You got anywhere called England, you know? 'Cept, he called it magic than genes.

We do have a country called England. I'm not so sure about magic, though, but I wouldn't want to say it doesn't exist, either.

Hmm... maybe it's the same thing, different name? He said they had to hide away too since humans didn't really treat them well.

...it sucks how often that seems to come up.

It's possible. Some people might think what we do is magic.

[ She's sure it isn't, but it's really just semantics at this point. ]

Yeah. People are afraid of what they can't understand. It's just too bad most of them don't try to learn.

Well... other than your abilities, what's life like for you? What would you usually be doing? You're not like, on the run or anything, are you?

[ He has no idea what it might be like. From the stories he's heard from other people though, a majority are 'life is bad, always'. ]

No, not on the run. Other than having a special power, I live a relatively normal life. I go to school [ even if most of the people there hate her ], hang out with friends. Stuff like that.

But I also go to an institute that helps people like me train with our powers, and try to use our powers to help people.

[blitzcheer]

Oh yeah? Hey, that's not so bad! So you get to meet other people who can do similar things too.

Is there anyone there with the same power as you? What is it anyway?

Well, sort of. There are some people that have similar powers, but generally what powers someone has can be random.

I have the ability to phase through things. I haven't met anyone at home that can do anything similar, though.

[blitzcheer]

Huh, cool! So you don't have to open any doors? That come in useful for anything?

[ What would he do with a power like that? ]

[ She laughs. ] Technically? Though it is still courtesy to use the door.

[ Especially since she has gotten in trouble for not knocking before phasing. ]

Yeah, it's actually come in pretty handy. Locked or sealed rooms, trying to slip away or sneak around, stuff like that. I can even phase through people if I need to.

[blitzcheer]

You can?

[ His voice rises a little, eyes widening, an unsure look crossing his face at the idea of anyone phasing through another person. ]

W-what's that like?

[ is it spooky

'cause it sounds spooky to him!! ]

Well, usually I pass through them too fast to really think about it.

[ And she usually tries not to think about it, otherwise it gets too weird. ]

[ Unlike Tidus, who's going to think about it long enough to give a shiver. ]

I've had memories go through me... but not another living person!

It doesn't feel cold or sorta solid or...?

No worries. Like I said, it's just something I try not to think about.

But if you wanna ask me other questions about my powers, go ahead.

But it's different, that's for sure. Have you actually been on any missions back home? How do those work?

[goingthroughaphase]

Yeah, I've been on some missions before. Normally, I'm with a team of others with different powers, and we see what's needed to fulfill our objective. Even if that means not using our powers.

[blitzcheer]

The last mission here was a little like that. Some people had trouble using their powers when we got there. Don't know why; it din't affect everyone.

You think that's possible for you? Just...not being able to use 'em, 'cause something's blocking them?

[ She hesitates a bit as she considers that. ]

Well...I'm more used to using them, but we're also taught to adapt, and think on our feet. I won't say it wouldn't be difficult, but...I'll try to manage.

[blitzcheer]

Oh, hey, don't worry! I was thinking because you said it's in your genes, right? I didn't know if anyone would be able to do anything about that.

[ Whoops, he didn't mean to worry her...! ]

But whatever happens out there, we'll have your back! We don't know each other, but we're all in this together.

Technically yeah. But sometimes the powers themselves don't manifest until later. My powers only started manifesting around two years ago.

[ Wow, has it only been two years? It feels like much longer than that. ]

That had to be a weird day for you. All I had to worry about was puberty.

Or if we're talking two years ago, making it in professional sports.

[ Not waking up and finding he could phase through things. ]

Ugh, no kidding. At the time, I thought I was having the worst day ever.

[ How young and naive she had been. ]

But it turned out okay. That's when I joined the institute, and things got better.

[ And in some ways more difficult, but that's another story. ]
