Sooooo, not being able to talk to most of the train that day sucked, huh? I don't know what to think about any of that, but since we can talk to each other now, I was thinking: How about we share where we're from, and see who's from worlds like ours?

And who speaks the same languages too! An actual list be better if that ever happens again, but for now, tell us about the kind of place you're from, what makes home home to you! You got kings or dragons? Machines? Portals to other worlds? Talking sea life? You just trying to get through school?

I'll go first to give you guys an idea, but share whatever you feel like!

.. I'm pretty sure you brushed off the most important part of that entire explanation, man.

[ JUST SAYING. Most of the other stuff Tidus says makes sense to him to some extent, and some of the other stuff he already knew.. but that first part is exactly what makes his world sound unique in the first place! ]

[ Tidus makes a face. ]

I mean...yeah, I guess, but I didn't really live it.

[ what does that even mean ]

[ That's exactly what Inigo is wondering right now... ]

Live it? Does that have to do with that thing you talked about before? [ See, being considerate may be a general Inigo trait, but not blurting things out like a dumbass comes a little less natural. He's trying right now though! Just in case Tidus doesn't want others to know about him having ended up in some other place before? ] Or is it just something from way in the past?

Er- yeah. [ He looks caught, scrambling for that excuse he can latch onto at the end of Inigo's words. Sighing loudly, but it's all show while he regains control of the conversation. ]

It's just a really long history lesson... but since you asked for it! You ready? There aren't as many dragons involved as yours.

You might as well mean to say that it's going to be boring with that..

[ I mean, no dragons? How can a world be cool without them! ]

But.. sure. I guess I've asked for it now, so I'll listen.

Well, I'm going to make it extra boring for that!

[ Let him do some dramatics, straightening his shirt and giving a cough and a 'ahem!'. ]

Okay, so one thoooousand years ago...!

[ And then he laughs very lightly, and breaks the face he was making, the drawn out voice he was using. ]

'kay, so. Back in the past, everywhere used a lot of tech as far as I know. Or it got really popular, and that had something to do with a war that ended up taking place. You had summoners--people who could summon beings to fight, and then you had another big city, filled with machines called machina.

The two cities fought, and the summoner city was losing. So the people left decided to use what they had left to make a summon... that summon being Sin.

[ His voice has been neutral, normal for the most part until now, where he sighs some as he speaks. ]

I don't think they meant it to do what it did...but it basically destroyed everything. The other city, theirs--everywhere. Nobody knew why it showed up--well, not the regular people. But a summoner called Yunalesca came up with a way of destroying Sin for a while, and that became the one way people knew how to take it down. Machines didn't really work, and people thought that's why Sin had shown up in the first place -- because everyone got too lazy and used too many.

So, because people started to think machines were the problem and Sin was always destroying everything... everyone lived a simpler life. They followed a religion they thought would help them get rid of Sin one day, and summoners would...

[ He pauses, his mouth frowning. ]

...they'd give up their lives to defeat Sin. To bring peace to Spira, even for a while.

They thought it was the only way.

[ Well. There may be less dragons, but there are still some parts of the story that feel familiar to Inigo. Some huge threat appearing out of seemingly nowhere. A group of people willing to give up their lives to defeat said threat. Sure, the packaging might be different, but there's something very familiar as its core.

It's why he takes it in quietly, and for once seriously, without acting like a total jackass over it. ]

And.. did they defeat Sin? Or is that still yet to happen?

[ He nods, short and quick. ]

Yeah, Sin's gone. Yuna defeated it--and the aeons Yuna summoned helped, and the other guardians with us. The Al Bhed and the rest of Spira. Everyone played a part.

[ He speaks coolly than with an excitable energy that might be expected, but no less proud. ]

We got rid of the one summoning Sin from within. And now...Spira's getting to heal.

That's good.

[ He's glad. Tidus' world apparently had that kind of happy end. Maybe that means he can hope for his own world to somehow achieve that happy ending as well under similar circumstances. ]

But.. Yuna did that, huh? [ Even though Tidus said she had a lot of help, that's definitely what Inigo is chosing to focus on-- ] It seems like she's pretty impressive.

Sure she is! [ As if Tidus will ever downplay Yuna's achievements, even with everything going on between them now. ] She put everything into being a summoner! Even if I didn't agree with what she was going to do... Yuna worked hard. She gave a lot of herself to keep Spira safe.

She's the strongest person I know.

[ It's so cute how Tidus admires her. Seriously, why aren't these two hooking up yet? Even if things sound kind of awkward between them, Inigo feels like it's nothing they couldn't figure out with some talk!

Maybe he'll just have to play matchmaker. Especially since it gives him a way of distracting himself from his own love woes. ]

Okay, wait, let's scrap what I just said. You think she's pretty impressive.

[ He may be wiggling his eyebrows. Just a bit. Hint hint. Nudge nudge. ]

[ He sees those eyebrows. And he's folding his arms!! Unimpressed face! ]

Yeah, and you can too.

[ ... ]

But not like that. [ You're taken! ] I'm not going to downplay what she went through just because of how it sounds. I was her guardian!

[ For some reason (dramatics, it's always dramatics) Inigo looks so offended all the same at that 'not like that'.

It only lasts a moment though. There's something more important to focus on here. ]

Yes, but does being her guardian mean you couldn't be something more with her too?

[ Tidus flinches, a moment of uncertainty or how to answer or react to that. Conversations and emotions of a tangled mess he's been able to ignore in this discussion about worlds, but if it would be better here to brush over, laugh or deflect-- ]

Drop it.

[ He's looking aside, voice soft yet firm, not having it in him to deceive even with white lies. Not wanting to think about might be heard. ]

[ Half-instinctively Inigo almost pushes. He's so used to people shutting him out like this where he knows he has to keep pushing or they'll never let up and let someone in for once, after all. But thankfully he realises that this might be a little too serious to push. That it's better to not say anything before he shoves his foot further up his mouth and completely ruins his friendship with Tidus. ]

Oh, okay. ... Sorry.

[ It's awkward now. Tidus wants to express in some way that Inigo doesn't have to apologise, feels the urge when he hears it. But it's difficult, he doesn't know how else to continue, and it takes him a moment--frowning, shuffling and lost on the spot, before he sighs and says, with some struggle: ]

I'll-- another day. I'll tell you. ...Not like this.

[ Now this whole conversation just turned into awkward boy stew. Especially since Inigo feels just as bad hearing that from Tidus, wondering if he didn't just accidentally guilted the other guy into saying that. ]

.. It's alright. If you want to tell me, then of course I'll listen, no matter when that is. But if it's something you'd rather keep to yourself, I'll understand. Especially if it's hard or painful for you.

[ Listen, he may screw up a whole lot of other things, but he's at least trying really damn hard to be a good friend. ]

[ Now Tidus can wave a dismissive hand, shaking his head as he does so. ]

It's just something I don't wanna talk about like this, you know? [ Or rather, not drag out with such a down mood over a public communication. Not that Tidus is thinking about anyone else. But it's weird and awkward!! ]

It's fine! Don't look so serious.

[ And Tidus even picks up his own, as if chastising Inigo by the smile he shows him.

There, now there's no reason for being all serious. ]

I'm--

[ He pauses, letting out a breath as Inigo too seems to relieve some tension. ]

I'm not looking serious, you are. [ He's making sure to say that as petulantly as possible on purpose. At least it'll help make the mood lighter again. ]

I'll leave you to explaining your wild world to others for now, but let's talk about that some other time then.
