Bassoon Day 6 -- afternoon, video
[ Curufn has been awake for hours and is dressed in his road-crew orange clothing, but he came back for a shower, and he's still in Sleeper Carriage 2:A, speaking from the ICP in the cabin. His hair is not yet combed, and it is still wet and straggles about his forehead. He looks worried. ]
I hesitate to tell you this, but I think it's my responsibility. I had a dream last night, and I don't believe it was just a dream. Let me say that in my home universe, I had visions of evil things occurring, and they always came true. So, I'm sounding a warning, so that we may prepare in any way that we can.
I saw a city in flames. There were people in those burning buildings, and I heard screams. Other people were running, some escaping and some not. The air was choked with smoke.
There were winged creatures flying about this burning city, and I think they must have been demons, as I've seen that sort of creature before. I seemed to be standing quite near a building, as a wounded man came running around it toward me and would have escaped -- except that a small, white-haired, red-eyed being came swiftly behind him and stuck a spear into him. And then it turned on me, and I was about to get into a fight, but I suddenly awakened.
I don't know if many of you come from cultures that credit such visions, but I'm concerned.
[ OOC: This dream was PM'd to me -- to Curufin, I mean -- by the voidtreckermods last night, so you can bet it means something! XD ]

Yes, I can use the grounding. Food tends to do that pretty well. If you want to make some tea, I'll certainly drink some, and thank you again. [ He takes a bite of the salmon and toast. ] Delicious!

I'd be delighted to! [So Sarai goes. But it's likely to be something with soothing chamomile in it, if she can avail herself of it. Tea ceremonies were fairly proper in the Steppes, so even if she's not standing on ceremony, there's likely something of that in her movements and preparation.]
I'm sure you're going to have a handful of people asking you about your dream. So would you prefer to speak about something else? If you'd rather speak of it, I'll listen.
[But she'll let him have the option.]

[ He watches with interest, perceiving the ceremonial intent. Elves don't have tea ceremonies, but they certainly have other kinds. ]
As for the dream, the Elvish culture includes a belief in such experiences. We've been guided by them so many times in the past that I can't help but pay attention. And I personally have received visions in the past, so I know to take them seriously.
But do you have something you'd rather speak of? We can change the subject if you wish.
no subject
I know the Xaela have prophets, but I've never been gifted with dreams or visions--there are just enough instances at home that I give them credence! [But she grins a bit. But then, she pauses, but shakes her head.]
There are a lot of subjects we could talk about, though! You pick one.

Than at least we're on the same page: each of us comes from a culture that believes in visions.
Topics, hmm. How about the most important one there is? -- what do you care about most? You answer and then I'll answer. Good enough?
