 Does anyone know where I might find some good adhesive and possibly some sandpaper? I've got a good selection of bamboo that I want to cut into strips and laminate together to make practice knives so people can learn how to fight and protect themselves on missions if need be. But I need a way to do the lamination and something to smooth the edges and properly shape them.

As a people we seek for perfection of form over function. After all, if you're going to use a thing for a very long time, should it not also be pleasing to look at?

That is an excellent point. Humans in my world try to do the same when it comes to art, but not always with things that are more functional. But to some, industrialism is its own art style.

Well, anything can be art I suppose, but is it beautiful, is the question.

But isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder?

Well, there is some truth in that. But equally there is beauty and there is Beauty, and some things are just... ugly.

How very true. Thankfully nothing on this train so far seems to be visually offensive in that way.

Indeed! Well, it's very spartan, by my standards, but not unlovely.

It's a lot nicer than some places I've been. The beds are softer and warmer than some I've had.

Hah! There is a good deal of truth to that. I am old enough now to appreciate a roof over my head, and a comfortable bed.

Every time I grow complacent, or disquieted, I remind myself of those.

I do the same thing. It's easy to forget the hard times, but also important to remember them.

I think that one appreciates the good times more, for them.

I agree completely. I think if I hadn't had such hard times, I would be more cross with how little space the sleeping cabins have.

Indeed! I've had to sleep in the forges a time or two, and there are plenty of other locations I much prefer to the beds here too. And well, the food is perfectly nutritous, and options for making your own are provided.

I'm curious to see what the next food option will be.

As am I! I hope that 'twill be something easy to cook with. And I confess, I am hoping for more fruits.

As long as there is some meat available for Amira, I will be happy. Cats are obligate carnivores, after all. And I can survive off anything edible.

I suspect whoever supplies us has our needs clearly in mind, considering. [ She hums thoughtfully ]

They say that things are removed from the pantry after it becomes clear that folk here cannot eat them. Surely they would also provide for those who need certain things?

I would assume so. But then again, everything is so mysterious about this train that I am hesitant to expect anything.
