Hello? Oh ah, I beg your pardon. [Alice has never made any sort of announcement before, she has only ever responded to them.]

That is, I was wondering if I could take some of your time, for just a moment. My name is Alice Liddell, how do you do? ... Ah yes, there is another Alice Liddell on the train, she's the older me... or well, I'm the younger her since she was on the train first. Mr. Stark said that might be confusing so you can also call me Minnie, if you like. He says it's the same name as a cute Mouse Queen but I suppose it could also be "Mini Alice" if you like.

But oh um, that isn't what I would like to ask... mostly because that isn't a question, the first thing I said.

The greenhouse, which is the actual garden rather than the garden car... do we take flowers from the planets we visit and put them in the greenhouse?

The Train has also supplied us with some seeds, and you can spend the points you earn to buy more from the Train store.

You can also ask one of your fellow Gardeners for a cutting, if you'd like to grow something similar.

What kinds of flowers do you like? I am partial to Golden ones myself. [He is smiling quite kindly.]

Next to your name on the Passenger Roster, it lists how many you have. [He looks up the information on his side.] Based on the picture, I'm going to put you as the littler Alice, correct? You have 13 points.

If you just want to talk to flowers, you are more than welcome to come and talk to mine at any time. They are quite friendly and talk to me all the time. Did you know the sunflowers like to stare at me?

I am the littler Alice, yes, you may call me Minnie if you wish. Mr. Stark does. How did I earn 13 points? I've barely even been here... I'm not even sure what I did! Is that a lot? Or not much at all?

I do enjoy talking to flowers, though the older me mentioned so many are asleep. I should think the sunflowers stare at you because you remind them of the sun! I doubt they get any of the proper sunlight while here on this train. It's a wonder we've been able to grow anything at all!

Very well, Minnie. I like to call people by the name they ask to be called by. It is a sign of respect.

The ways of the Train are quite mysterious. I do know you can earn points by doing the chores your team has been assigned. So, the more you participate, the more you earn. For a kidnapping entity, it seems to be trying at least a little to make up for things. Not to our satisfaction, of course.

Many are asleep yes. Do you know how to wake them?

I think you are right. I do have a bit of the sun inside of me, and I like to share it with the flowers whenever I am in that car. The Train supplied sunlamps in the ceiling. You can sort of judge when it is supposed to be night by the fact that they dim for several hours. Flowers do not like constant light. It makes them cranky.

Well, if you wish, sir. I don't mind. Minnie, Alice, Little Alice, I've been partial to Lacie. Lacie is just my name rearranged in a different way! So any of those names will make me happy!

For a kidnapping entity, it doesn't seem to explain much.

Oh yes, the awake ones told me! But that shall be quite a few flower beds I'll need to redo! I'm not sure I'll have enough dirt to make the flower beds so firm. And who is to say they wish to be awake?

I imagine the flowers the only open in the moon would be terribly upset!

For me, my name is Glorfindel. Or Laurefindil. The only nickname I do not like is Glory, but other than that, you can call me what you will.

No, no, the Train is remarkably silent, isn't it? Perhaps it is shy?

I am sure we can come up with more dirt, if need be. Start small and just keep going is a good motto.

Fortunately I do not think we currently have any of those. Otherwise that would be quite sad indeed.

The thing about mottos is they sneak up on you. You don't realize you have one until it comes out of your mouth.

Exactly so! And introduce itself, to say the least rather than insist on all of us writing a pamphlet. And it can give us back our clothes because the one it gives us are simply dreadful. [WHO ON EARTH LOOKS GOOD IN ORANGE!? Besides Sailor Venus.]
