That is, I was wondering if I could take some of your time, for just a moment. My name is Alice Liddell, how do you do? ... Ah yes, there is another Alice Liddell on the train, she's the older me... or well, I'm the younger her since she was on the train first. Mr. Stark said that might be confusing so you can also call me Minnie, if you like. He says it's the same name as a cute Mouse Queen but I suppose it could also be "Mini Alice" if you like.

But oh um, that isn't what I would like to ask... mostly because that isn't a question, the first thing I said.

The greenhouse, which is the actual garden rather than the garden car... do we take flowers from the planets we visit and put them in the greenhouse?

If you just want to talk to flowers, you are more than welcome to come and talk to mine at any time. They are quite friendly and talk to me all the time. Did you know the sunflowers like to stare at me?

I suppose you could! I hadn't thought of that to be honest. I've been mostly growing food.

But if you need to find a spot or something, I can make some room where my things are. A few less plants won't hurt.

I'm not entirely sure private is accurate. Mmm.. how else to put it. It's a communal space, but some of the spaces have been taken over suddenly by sunflowers, or popotos, and those belong to individuals.. and you can mark off a spot you want to fill with your things.. but it's still a public space?

What might stop someone from shoving my plants aside for theirs? [Look, she's not saying anyone is a jerk, but she's seven and adults don't tend to think of children's things as "valuable" where she's from.]

I do enjoy talking to flowers, though the older me mentioned so many are asleep. I should think the sunflowers stare at you because you remind them of the sun! I doubt they get any of the proper sunlight while here on this train. It's a wonder we've been able to grow anything at all!

Thank you, miss! I'm just.... the greenhouse seemed very full. And I didn't know if there was... I suppose a team for that, the gathering plants of sort. I somewhat wish there were, plants are one of the few things I'm good at... at least, I'm good at speaking to them.

Very well, Minnie. I like to call people by the name they ask to be called by. It is a sign of respect.

The ways of the Train are quite mysterious. I do know you can earn points by doing the chores your team has been assigned. So, the more you participate, the more you earn. For a kidnapping entity, it seems to be trying at least a little to make up for things. Not to our satisfaction, of course.

Many are asleep yes. Do you know how to wake them?

I think you are right. I do have a bit of the sun inside of me, and I like to share it with the flowers whenever I am in that car. The Train supplied sunlamps in the ceiling. You can sort of judge when it is supposed to be night by the fact that they dim for several hours. Flowers do not like constant light. It makes them cranky.

Oh, you do? Oh, that's wonderful! You should speak to Lord Glorfindel, I believe he is quite fond of Singing to his flowers, and the Lady Persephone also. I don't think there is anything formal, really. Just find yourself a quite plot!

Hmm. It's a vegetable of sorts that grows in the ground. Very tasty when cooked right, and full of vitamins and suchwhat that most beings need to stay healthy.

[It's a potato! But Fandaniel's never calling them that.]

Nothing at all, I'm afraid, beyond some innate sense of right and wrong. After all, the train is a closed community, and they will not know this patch or that patch doesn't belong to someone rather powerful who might get very angry if their plants are disturbed!

You know I haven't really explored that part of the train but apparently you can do a number of things without anyone's permission. However I'm not sure how long we're all suppose to stay here so if you do, maybe you can ask someone to take care of them when you're gone?
