[Video] Egret 24 ~ Train Council

I found out awhile ago I was nominated and I... have been struggling to figure out how to address this. I'm worried that I may have been nominated because of who certain individuals may think I am.

[ Luke paused, glancing away and biting his lip; it is entirely obvious that he's very nervous. It takes him a moment to look back, taking a deep breath before he plowed on. ]

My name is Luke Skywalker; I'm the son of Lord Vader, who was here previously. In my version of home, I am the commander of his Black Squadron, and... if my father has anything to say about it, the heir to the Imperial Throne.

[ He hesitated again, looking down as he fidgeted with his hands, taking another deep breath. ]

There are a lot of things I'm not that others have expected me to be, so I'll speak as to what I am and my experience. At eleven, I was enrolled at the Prefsbelt Imperial Academy, for pilot and officer training. I graduated at nineteen, and was promoted to commander in the middle of a battle to defend the Destroyer I was stationed on. I have been in three dogfights, and I was in the middle of an on going mission to usurp the current Emperor before coming here.

I grew up in a galaxy where the Emperor's word was absolute; where if you had the money and the favor, you could get whatever you wanted. It's not... a pleasant place at my point in time. My father and I, as well as a team of others, have been doing what we could to make things better, with myself taking point in attempts to gather allies.

I don't know how that will translate to being on train council. I admit, my diplomatic abilities are... lacking, as recent events have made evident. I'm doing what I can as a Purple team lead, but I know there's much I still have to learn. If I'm chosen, I will do my best to step up and learn from all of you, so I may serve you as best I can.

You're right. Obviously you were so entranced when you saw me on the street and simply had to see me naked. [ The sarcasm in her tone is so thick you could cut it with a knife ] How dare I sell myself short.

I doubt that's the case either.

[ He will probably regret being that blunt soon enough. ]

[ She pouts at the camera for a moment before grinning ]

That might have hurt my feelings if I didn't have such a high opinion of myself.

[faithfulson]

[ Luke let out an exasperated noise at that, before shaking his head. ]

At any rate, I felt it best to let others know what they were voting for. Whatever... happened after my point in time can't really be held against me.

[ Right? ]

It was a smart tactical decision and I agree, they should know who you actually are instead of continuing under false pretenses.

[ Her expression softens to show a hint of the true affection she has for Luke ]

And if you need any help just let me know. I'll even keep my commentary under control to not embarrass you.

[ Luke's expression softened as well, the faintest hint of a smile coming to his face. ]

I appreciate it.

[ He paused, before glancing away, an almost shy look coming to his face. ]

And... thank you for being patient with me.

[ For a moment she's immensely grateful they aren't in the same room together. This is perhaps the most open Luke's been with her since she was brought here and she'd missed their friendship more than she'd expected. Hopefully the distance would help disguise the riot of emotions running through her at the moment. ]

Of course. This entire experience was jarring for myself, I can only imagine how much worse it was for you.
