Have you ever thought about getting married? {The topic has been on his mind since a certain wedding.} I know you should be in love when you do it, but is it strange to think about it even if you're not?

I'm a Cultivator, so I realize that it isn't likely that I will ever be married - unless I settle down. But it does seem nice and everyone has someone, don't you think?

As I was growing up, Uncle was very strict with both ZeWu-Jun and myself. I grew up not knowing those sorts of emotions existed... until I first saw your mother when he came to study at the Cloud Recesses, but we were hardly immediately connected as we are now. My heart wanted it, but my head did not want to believe.

What made you give into your heart? I don't think that would be very easy.

It was not until much later that I realized I was. But I began to treat him differently, worry after him more. There were things I did in secret that I wouldn't have before.

It did not help that he had a different upbringing and did not understand where I came from and I did not know how to communicate this with him. If I avoided him, he believed I hated him. If I was not distant, he would take it too far.

[He hesitated a moment before continuing because the example is not flattering in the least to him]

He... was teasing me once - in entirely the wrong situation, saying that I liked a girl from another sect that I had only just met and had no interest in. He was laughing about it and I didn't know how to tell him that it was really him I liked. So I took his hand... and bit him on the arm.

{His father isn't the best at communicating, so he can understand some of his mother's confusion. Then again, his mother doesn't always pay attention to the finer points of a situation and his father is usually more subtle than dramatic so said finer points are how he communicates. Sizhui can easily see how they missed one another for a long time.}

You bit him? {Imagining his distinguished father doing something so rash, so crazy is... He bites his lip, trying to hold in a laugh.}

Was it hard enough to make him bleed?

[WangJi opened his mouth to speak, but closed it when an off-camera voice, very familiar to both of them, spoke up, laughing while he's saying it]

Yeah, and it hurt too!

[WangJi actually did smile at that, as faint as his normal smile was. Well, that should answer that question... and answer where WuXian was right now]

{Mother! Sizhui grins at the sound of the other voice, sitting up straighter, eyes bright.}

You were frustrated! It sounds like he forgave you.

Yes! I can't remember what led to it, but I wanted brothers and sisters, so he said he would grow them like radishes. {He laughs quietly, affectionately recalling that day.}

And you were the "seed" to grow brothers and sisters then?

[Not that he can talk. He put Yuan in a pile of bunnies when he was a toddler]

Yes! {An adorable seed for more adorable babies.} I was going to help grow another aunt too, so she wouldn't have to work so hard.
