peak performance (video)
I'm aware that there's a loosely structured list of classes on-board the train already, but after the last disaster, I think we need to seriously expand the offerings.
Engineering skills are crucial. It's come to my attention that Team Orange is often tasked with that. I gathered some scraps from the mission planet---anything in good condition is donated to larger products, but I'm using the leftovers to build samples for teaching the basics. Ideally we'd focus on a range of possible technological eras, so any talented smiths would be of use.
I know combat classes and basic math and science classes are already underway, but it might be worth reminding everyone about them. An expansion of medical would be wise too.
Any thoughts? Anything you're willing to teach us that we could use?

I'm from an era that pre-dates most modern skills, but I've lived in two worlds besides my own, and I've learned a great deal from modern people and sources and from practicing my newer skills. Here's my resumé:
I can teach sword fighting, and also, how to handle modern firearms.
I am a metalsmith, and I can teach those skills. Probably not forging, as I don't think it would be a good idea to build a forge on the train! [ Small laugh. ] That would be a fire hazard. But if I could acquire a small blowtorch, it wouldn't be as dangerous as an old-fashioned forge furnace. Don't know where I'd get one, nor the fuel for it, but I'll keep looking in the worlds we go to on our missions. Meantime, I can teach basic metalworking skills that don't involve melting the stuff.
I have mechanical and electrical engineering skills, and I can teach them if I have the right materials and equipment. Again, I'll keep looking. And I did bring back a rucksack full of hardware from our last mission.
As for medical or healing skills, I don't have any, other than ordinary first aid. But I do know how to to do basic rescue work -- how to lift and carry an injured person without wrecking my back. I can teach that sort of thing, and am already doing it.
