Well that sure was one Helluva Nap.

[ Comes the voice of the Doctor. He's met a few of you by now but not everyone and that just won't do-so here he is, formally introducing himself. ]

Hullo all! Good morning! Or Afternoon-Evening? I suppose doesn't really matter-hopefully we're all well rested-or at least rested.

Anyway, I'm the Doctor-I'm here to help. Before you ask-no, not a medical doctor, though I can be if needed. Doctor is my name. No, I'm not human-don't tell me I look human-I don't. I do actually know something about the void just not as much as I'd like given the situation.

Now that that's out of the way, please, come talk to me. You can talk to me here, or come find me-I'll be in the standard coach drinking tea. Love meeting new people-you're all so fascinating-I mean that as a compliment by the way-so try not to take offense. And yes, I do mean you. I'd love to meet you all-and I expect to considering we're all sharing the same ride. No reason not to be friends, eh?

Well, I've taken up enough of your time, so erm.. as the young people say-hit me up.

[Later that day, a suspicious ghost pokes her head over a seat back to stare at the Doctor.]

Are you that "Doctor" person who was talking to everyone earlier?

[ The Doctor's seen all types, he's rarely ever surprised by appearances these days-even ghosts likely have a scientific explanation. That aside though, he can't help the small pang in his hearts that this ghost looks so young. ]

I am, Indeed!

[ He offers a warm smile and twinkle in his eye as he takes a sip of that tea. ] And who might you be?

[ She floats over the divider to "sit" across from him. Ivy's voice carries the inflection of someone talking to an authority figure. It's a reflex with most adults. ]

My name is Ivy Wakefield. Can I ask you a question?

[The Doctor should recognize this voice from the Network; she's responded to one of his posts before, asking about Nautilus.]

What void have you been in, then?

[Guess who's still taking notes?]

I can come over to the standard coach if you want, though; it'd be good to have a running comparison of all the voids we know.

Well, there's only the one void and I wasn't really in it-I just passed through it because of well... someone didn't do void travel correctly. But the Void acts as a sort of buffer to keep universes from bleeding into each other-happens sometimes anyways but usually it's so small no one really notices it.

[ He states smoothly before taking a moment. ]

Are you okay? Dreams weren't too rough on you, were they?

They were troubling,I suppose. And rather confusing.

[But... they were all about things that Will could have guessed were bothering him. To be alone, to be forgotten. These were still new things to him.]

[ Despite sleeping all that time, Conan didn't feel rested at all. From what he could remember, he suspected that nightmares had filled the majority of his time asleep. A distraction was very welcome.

Later that day he finds his way to the standard coach, clutching his own mug of coffee.]

"The Doctor, right? I think we met before when I was sick."

[ The Doctor looks up from something he's reading and notices Conan-yes, he remembers him. The boy with poison in his system. Well, he certainly looks more lively now. ]

Yes! Yes we did.

You look... erm... tired.

[ He's never been one to sugarcoat things and even after all that napping they all did, he really just looks like he'd awake the whole time. ] But your color's back-so that's a good sign.

Have you ever seen something like the void before?

Well, yes. Sort of. Depends on what you mean by 'like the void.' I've never seen the void before-until now. I'm just aware of it.

[When Bucky does appear later that day, he takes his sweet time getting close enough for actual conversation, instead preferring to watch the Doctor from afar as he speaks with a couple other people. While he works up the courage for an Actual Interaction. At least he makes no secret of how he's watching, even if staring isn't exactly polite, even where he's from.

Finally, when it seems there's no one else immediately available to take up the Doctor's time, he gets up from where he'd been sitting (with his back to a wall, of course) and approaches, hands curled into tense fists, as if they haven't been that way this whole time.] I'm Bucky. [He offers his flesh hand to shake, and there are little crescents in his palm from where his nails have been pressing into the callouses.]

[ The Doctor is seated exactly where he'd said he'd been. For someone who typically acts incredibly inpatient most of the time he's proven today that's typically an act. He's stayed in the same seat, talked to several people-helping when he could and encouraging them when he couldn't. He'd noticed Bucky very early on but he didn't push the man, preferring instead to allow him to come to him. There were a few things he wanted to ask about. ]

Nice to formally meet you, Bucky. I'm the Doctor.

[ He offers an easy smile, taking the man's hand and shaking once. It's a simple introduction but one that holds so much weight-giving the feeling that Doctor is giving him his undivided attention. There's just something about the old Timelord. ]

Are you often in the habit of posing questions you feel people might take offense to?

[Zelda asks him a few hours later, tone politely curious.]

Sure, why not. After those odd dreams, Khary wouldn't mind the company. So he went to the kitchen, made up an urn of laced coffee, vanished it, and headed on over to the standard coach. His hands were in his pockets and he looked casual as usual. No signs that he was as heavily shielded as he was. Three strong skin tight shields with access. He looked around for the person who had called them. Spotting the Doctor he slid into a seat, and eyed the tea before grinning.

"Want something stronger?"

The Doctor's still in the same carriage, back against the seat and sipping contentedly at his tea. By this time he's met a few people and had some wonderful conversations. Of course, he's always willing to meet more.

"No thanks, just tea for me. Besides, this is my fourth cup. Even I think I'm over doing it."

Well, ya do look human. So it's not really any kinda surprise that people keep sayin' that to ya.

[ Naruto approaches with his arms tucked behind his head, studying the only person in here drinking tea in an almost animated kind of way that reminds him of the voice he'd heard over the network. ]

Ya said you're here to help, right? An' that you know stuff about the void?

[ Naruto takes it upon himself to sit down across from The Doctor. He lowers his hands, tapping his fingers on the table. ]

I wanna help too, if I can.

someday, I'll meet someone that listens to what I say.. [ He grumbles under his breath before clearing his throat, though he sits a little stiffer, very offended at someone having said he looks human. Humans! However, he's good enough to not react anymore than than, not saying anything as Naruto takes a seat.]

Yes, on both accounts. Was there something you wanted to know?

[ Cal is one of those young people and he has never said that once in his life, so he's confused. ]

Yes! As I understand it, it just means 'talk to me' or at least is does in the early part of the twenty-first century.

[Dairine doesn't even bother with the ICP. Once she hears that name, she's already making her way to the standard coach in a hurry.

[She practically barrels into the carriage, a flurry of energy and excitement. She's grinning from ear to ear, her face beaming with happiness. And also recognition?]

Doctor!!

[Ah, it's bowtie Doctor! The Doctor who invited her to a wedding. Perhaps not the one she knew the best, but hey! Any Doctor was better than no Doctor.]

[ Luckily for them both he's already had the opportunity of meeting Dairine's sister who's already briefed him on the fact her sister would be glad to see him. He might not know her yet but a smile is always contagious. ]

As you should. [ He nods in approval. ] Though I've been here since the start of the month-I'm always around somewhere. You must be Dairine then, yes?
