Good morning passengers. Just a few announcements now that everyone has had a chance to get settled in.

I have a questionnaire I'm asking everyone on board to complete. The goal is to find patterns between our situations in order to determine why we're being taken and brought here. These are confidential, only I will be reading them and I'll not share anything private on them. For those who have already filled these out I've added two questions, so please add these to your original answers- yes, you too Peter!

If anyone sees or hears anything that might give us information about the disappearance of one of our passengers, Gwen, please let me know.

Lastly, yes we have a giant spider living on our train now. She's promised not to hurt anyone and therefore, has our protection as well.

Any other issues or problems that are important let me know. Any issues or problems that are stupid, please bother my intern Peter or use your brain.

[Added Later for Charlotte. Since he doesn't know where she is, this goes out to everyone. The kitchen (for those with heightened senses or nearby) smells sweet and delicious.]

Yes. That might be helpful to know. I don't think we ever discussed it before but if you ever did lose your powers I'd to be prepared.

Also since when do we discuss this stuff on an open channel?

All the reasons I wanted to keep my identity secret don't really apply here and it's way too small of a space for secret identities.

[Yes, he can read. He's just not very keen on believing the reasons given. Especially that once filled the forms would are to be secret and only Tony will have access to them.]

Those are very specific questions and I believe that I, that we all, deserve more than one sentence of explanation.

If we can better understand why we were the ones selected to be taken from our home worlds and times then there's a better chance we can find a way to reverse it. I haven't found a pattern just yet, but the reason it's so specific is because that's how data is most effective- with precision.

For instance, there's a few people who would have been dead in their current time if they hadn't been taken at the exact moment they were. Other people seem to have been doing nothing of import at all. We have ages running the range of.. well.. a single year? (Really?- to himself) To.. well however old you are.

[He shrugs.]

I admit, I don't know which of these questions are going to be helpful and which aren't. But, truly, the intent is for data and not me learning everyone's crap.

[That is ... a surprisingly reasonable explanation. He wouldn't find fault in it even if he wanted. There is more information given on the process than he would himself be willing to share. [ With a ripple of space-time roughly a second after he makes the broadcast, Charlotte arrives in the kitchen. Hello, guardian-type human!

[Tony was surprised how fast she shows up, but he tries to give her a bit of a smile.. ish. It's still weird looking at her.]

[Cooling on a board are some homemade marshmallows. He scoops one up and offers it to her from the spatula.]

They should be cool enough to touch but.. it's sticky.

[ she takes the marshmallow from him in the manner of a subordinate receiving a grace from the emperor, and takes a dainty nibble. A trail of marshmallow gum goes from her mouth to her claws as she chews, but it disappears into her maw soon enough.

Ahhhh.

She absolutely forgives you.

Or... well, maybe after a few more. ]

[Tony watches and waits for a reaction. It was a little intimidating to watch that big spider mouth in action. He wondered just what kind of magical powers she had now that she had told him about having abilities from the survey.]

Yes? No? More? Work with me here..

[ Delicious. Thanks for the meal.

Who's she kidding. More, more! She doesn't actually grab the board, but she does make half-lunges towards it, making the most plaintive spider chirps she can. ]

[He was still waiting for something to be sewn in spider web but the movement to the board has him chuckling. He steps back out of the way and lets Charlotte have as many as she wants.

What the hell are those chirps? They sound.. happy? He's not ready to say the spider is 'cute'. That's.. she's still a giant spider.]</small. So.. how are people treating you, Charlotte? You doing okay?

[ These are too good to eat all at once, so she stashes a handful of them in her spatial storage for later with a flicker of pixel-like sparkles.

And then, mouth full of marshmallow, she sketches out two scowling elves in thread and then slashes through the image with bland cheer. Writing underneath: ]

- elves suck.
- can't take off this shirt.
- everything = fine.

[Wait.. how did she.. where..?

He gets sidetracked from that line of question to the image she creates. He snorts a laugh. Who knew spiders could be funny?]

Alright, I'll try to talk to them for you.

[He raises an eyebrow at the second one.]

[ whoops, the thread is getting a little too jagged and messy as she loses concentration in her indignation. she wipes out the mess and continues more sedately: ]

[He looks highly amused at her anger over the clothes.]

[ she keeps web-writing as he talks. ]

[He rolls his eyes, but he still looks perfectly humored.]

[He has to laugh at that sign, it was cute! Stop doing that! He tries twice to speak after that and can't, because the sign keeps making him laugh.]

Huh, it's much easier to talk to people if you just look down at the text and pretend you're playing an online game, come to think of it. Maybe that's why this is going so well? Is this the cheat to socialising? ]

[He gives her a 'warning' look that just screams 'Dad's not happy' until his lip curls at the end, giving him away. He knew she wasn't being serious here. Or hoped, anyway. She already knew he was willing to engage in a fight if need be.]

I'll say. It's also good if one of the kids are bothering you. Just toss one of the marshmallows near Peter and he'll immediately get too distracted to bother you. I also believe shaking your car keys work too.

[ she's a great multitasker - at least 20% of her brain is still screaming over the idea that she can gain weight now. 30% is remembering that Peter is the spider boy and she needs to check in on him ]

[He points to a spot a few feet away from where he was standing. If he was going to use her spell in strategies, he needed to know how it worked and what it felt like.

The part about Peter had him rolling his eyes.]

[ She'd blink if she had eyelids. Then she's in his personal space, and one claw is latched onto his sleeve, and there's a lurch like falling through a doorway and falling up some stairs at the same time, and they're both standing a few feet away. Bam.

She lets go as soon as she can, and scurries back. ]

ta da !

[Tony frowns when the spider has to touch him with her claw. However, he forgets all about that when they go through the very disorienting sequence to appear a few feet away. He has to reach out and grab the counter to help steady himself.]

Whoa..

[Well, that was.. at least he now knew how that felt.]

Uh, thanks. That.. felt.. surprisingly similar to going through time.
