Yeah, hello and greetings to all of us on the Voidtrecker Express. My name's Lan Jingyi for those who don't know me, and I'm still Lan Jingyi even if you know me.
( he did cup his fist to bow to the camera, but now he's waving a hand in front of himself, as if dismissing the . )
Do any of you know practical forms of practising this CPR stuff? I get the idea, and since technically we aren't supposed to go around using our energies on each other without being careful I get why it's important, but how do you practise any of this practically?
( someone fully reviewed the First Aid course after pulling together in the wake of the most recent one day exhaustion of mission assistance. only the CPR stuff is just taunting him when there's enough people mortal here he doesn't want to actively injure them worse if it ever comes up, thanks. )
Second, if anyone is................................................ of a spiritual persuasion, and is up for working with me on something involving truth telling, let me know.
( he reaches to turn off the ICP from live recording, then pauses, and pulls his hand back to point at the screen. he doesn't really think any of this is an issue, and mostly he's handling the 'don't yell at me randomly' part, but: )
Right! Third thing, I'm going flying in the garden carriage 'tonight', which means if you run through and use weather you get to deal with dripping dragon, that's not on me. Also no peeping, or shouting, both are annoying, thank you, goodbye.

[ but that is teasing, he realizes that jingyi would not have suggested it otherwise. ] Shall we discuss your speculations soon?
I was about to assist with laundry but should be free after that if you are not otherwise occupied. [ or, you know, tell him it's really urgent and save everyone's clothes because he manages to do damage even when using modern technology. ]

( he half-grins, waving at the ICP in a shoo shoo gesture, which feels scandalous but also, well, manageable. plus he's getting business done right now, and they're friends, so it's time to go be friendly with an elder generation who's barely older than him at all anymore.
that said, he does turn off the ICP and head to the kitchens, drumming up the tea and putting it in a thermos because there's no pot to take with him. cups are easy, at least, and so he arrives with a thermos in paisley pattern and two mugs, tail lashing in anticipatory restlessness when he sees lan xichen. )
Hey, I didn't look at what this one was called, but it smells nice. Almost roasted?
( to then sweep into the small room, setting thermos and mugs down, dispensing with formalities in a way that should feel more strange than he lets himself dwell on. unscrewing the top of the thermos, he begins to pour the tea. )
We're all spirits on train, right? So I was wondering, would Inquiry work on us?

the laundry takes a bit but he is first to arrive to the quiet carriage and does not have to wait at all before jingyi arrives. it isn't long. brows lift after they greet each other and xichen looks at the tea. ] I will trust your judgement on this. [ with tea, it cannot be famous last words. right? ]
[ but then they are seated and jingyi is not wrong, it does smell nice. he is surprised by the words, though he shouldn't be. it takes a moment, before he nods. ]
We are but we are not the same sort of spirits one normally calls with Inquiry. [ at least, xichen does not think they are if they could return home. ]

( that part is said very quietly, like he's afraid to make that a suggestion anyone acts on. a spirit rehoming itself, or shoving a spirit out of its rightful body. )
That we're going back to our own, hopefully, doesn't mean the concept is so far off, I don't think... it freaks me out.

but the implication does make him worry as well and he nods slowly, considering it all. ] They can if desperate enough. [ are they desperate enough to try it? and if they cannot, does it mean that the people they help from other worlds are not quite alive themselves. ] If it does work on us, it may not work quite the same as it does on the spirits we know.
[ but that matters very little, ultimately. ] It doesn't? [ xichen is quite perturbed at the idea of it. ]

( he flexes his fingers, curling them into fists again afterward. )
So I was just... wondering.

Someone who volunteers and knows how to lie, I guess.
