[Video] Rabbit Day 3... with Rabbits

[WangJi was in greenhouse carriage as usual. It was usually his place for making any sort of posts on the train as he enjoyed it there. This time, there actually was a reason... because he had two rabbits and it was the month of rabbit.

You know... appropriate.

So Little Carrot was sitting inside his robes with his tiny head sticking out, nose wiggling as WangJi spoke]

Good day. I wanted to inform those on the train with a musical inclination that I have ordered a guqin so that others may try and play it.

[He adjusted the video to show the very long zither instrument sitting on the ground near him. It definitely wasn't his own. The colors were different and it didn't have any of the markings showing it belonged to a Gusu Lan disciple.

There was also Little Radish the white rabbit next to it, sniffing it and trying to figure out what it was]

When is the best time to set up the lessons for you? Most of my work right now is laundry. I don't have a very busy schedule at the moment.

Perhaps after chores are completed if your team is doing them in the morning. My schedule is not busy either.

[Xie'er arrived a little while later after finishing up his chores and making some tea. He carried with him a tea kettle and cups that he pilfered from the kitchen and planned to return later. They weren't traditional like he was used to, but it would suffice.

He arrived in his silver blue robes and after placing the tray down he gave a bow in greeting.]

I thought you would like to have some tea.

[WangJi was well aware that the cups here were not traditional. That was fine. One had to work with what one had.

WangJi looked up as he entered, the guqin still sitting next to him. Little Radish was still sitting on the guqin like he was claiming it. Little Carrot was on the ground now. When Xie'er gave a bow, the black rabbit stood up on his hind legs and used his forelegs as if he were trying to bow. See he had been around WangJi for a while?]

Thank you. That is most kind. Please sit.

[Xie'er gave a nod and was somewhat amused by the rabbit trying to bow? He gave it a polite bow in return not wanting to offend the little one. He then moved to serve WangJi the tea being mindful of his manners and what he was taught. Next time he would remember some carrots. Only then did he move to sit down.]

[He knew nothing of this instrument. He had seen it played and heard it, but never touched the instrument himself. It was also considerd a difficult one to master. His god father didn't think he would be ready for something this challenging. Well, now he can find out on his own.]

[It was something that the rabbit had started doing on its own. WangJi had not taught him that, but since Little Carrot seemed to be attempting to bow like he did, he wouldn't stop the rabbit.

So when Xie'er bowed again, Little Carrot again attempted to mimic before lowering back down onto his feet and walking back towards WangJi. WangJi took the tea and took a sip of it first before speaking]

Obviously, it was quite a bit different than a pipa. A guqin is usually played flat, on a table or on your lap.

[His spiritual energy to hold it in mid-air didn't count. But first before Xie'er could really examine it... time to remove the rabbit. He picked up Little Radish and returned him into the ground. The white rabbit hopped a bit away and then basically flopped. Woe is him being removed from his new place to sit]

[Xie'er was tempted to pick up the rabbit, but knew he should be focused on the lessons. He didn't want the rabbits have to leave for being a distraction. He just never was around pets. Granted, his godfather had peacocks....but those weren't something he would call a pet. They were more of an loud obnoxious annoyance. It also was just another way to go look at how much money I have. Alot of the peacocks had recently began to disappear...

He gave a nod in understanding. With an instrument that big he could understand why.]

It looks like I could place my hands similiar position as I would the pippa. Would one hand be more dominate in playing or about equal?

[They will be here and eventually come back. Little Carrot was just off being himself and Little Radish was perhaps sulking, but hard to tell since you couldn't just... ask him]

This one. [WangJi showed him one hand] Will be the one that stays mainly in one area of the guqin. The other is the one that moves to change the tones and pitches on the string.

[Xie'er gave a nod and smiled, as he understood the similiarities between the two instruments. He mimicked the placement to get a better feel. It no longer wasn't as daunting as he thought it would be. It was still a challenge, but not something unknown.]

What would you say that's extremely different?

From what I know of pipa, I would say that it is similar but I have never learned anything other than guqin.
