Video
[The video opens with very excited Quatre, quite clearly trying to keep from bouncing excitedly]
Fellow passengers of the train, good morning! I made a request for an item and I wasn't actually sure if I'd get it or what it would be if I did, but...
[And he shows off what arrived for him... which just basically looks like a large box]
It is mobile suit cockpit simulator! So it's like piloting a mobile suit without actually piloting one!
[He very briefly showed off the inside of it, which looked like a cockpit]
Once I get it to the games carriage, I'm going to take a look at the options already programmed and add as many as I remember. It'll be available for anyone to try out. Also if you have one that would be piloted like that, I can try to add yours.
Action
Quatre can either be found in the luggage carriage, trying to figure out to move this very large object... or he can be found in the games carriage once it has been moved, checking what has already been programmed into the system.

[ Listen to this excited start of the feed from Tidus! A big grin, and some laughter following! ]
You got it! Hey, I'll be right over! Help you move it!
[ Heheh! ] Remember you owe me first game!
no subject
[He chuckled. Good they were both excited for it]
Sounds good. I could definitely use some help moving it.
[He grinned] Of course. You get the first shot at it.
no subject
On my way!
[ And that'll be his very clear warning that he's coming, Quatre! Tidus promised to help with the relocation, but he's excited too to see this thing in person.
An 'in person' he'll be very soon, cheating by using the transgate set inside the luggage carriage to make his appearance. It opens up wider, and Tidus steps out, shapes from the device fizzling away he looks around and spots Quatre. And the goods!
Aha, there he is! ]
So this was what you were talking about? It's the same type?
[ Nothing odd or different about it from first looks? ]
no subject
But he didn't have too much time when Tidus suddenly showed up like magic, Quatre looking up at the transgate to see Tidus arrive.
He nodded] It looks like the same type as the one I'm familiar with. The cockpit configuration is that same at least. I didn't want to start going further into it until was in its final home.
no subject
[ Just like he said he would! Tidus walks up to the simulator, looking it over around the outside, up and down. Humming, like he's looking for something; and his hands do find places to perch, Tidus eyeing the distance between where he puts them, and where the ground is. ]
Soo... okay. Hey, can you look where my hands are from the ground? I'll make it disappear, but I need to remember the height it'll come out. The less is rocks, the less likely I'll get crushed under it!
[ A joke, but also! ]
no subject
Of course. I can do that.
[In fact he does one better and opened the notebook he had been carrying with him since Tidus had already offered to help and used the lines to get a generalized "height"]
no subject
Somewhere they can at least take it out again. Tidus turns to Quatre, smiling -- a smile that then drops. ]
Uh - and let's make sure I don't bring it back on my feet.
[ Sometimes, you get the wildest ideas out of nowhere.
But now will be a good time to use the cheat transport of the transgate, straight to the games car, yes? ]
no subject
Yes, we will make sure none of you is stuck underneath the machine when it comes back.
[He wanted Tidus in one piece too, not just the machine. Tidus was being in one piece was more important than the machine being in one piece in his opinion.
Yes, this would be a good time use the transgate to get to the Games Carriage quickly]
no subject
Up the top, or down here? We can stick them near the other machines.
no subject
I think upper would be more appropriate. It seems like the lower is more board games, which this doesn't qualify as that. The upper has more of the tech games.
[While this really isn't a game per say, it could definitely be treated as one, especially in circumstances where there were no mobile suits]
no subject
[ He doesn't care one way or another, climbing the stairs to the second floor and heading in the direction of where the other machines sit. Along one of the walls, starting to tread into where the giant gaming pieces sit.
And even more so, potentially. ]
Hmm, other here, near the fly sim?
no subject
He followed Tidus upstairs, glancing over where the large machines were, which seemed to be Tidus's idea as well]
Yeah, that seems like a good place.
[And he'd open his notebook again so he was ready to "measure" the height]
no subject
Luckily, he'd remembered to touch this machine from the front than the back, so he doesn't have to try shimmying the big ol' thing too much after it's out. But first is getting it out...
And once they think they're ready ("Okay? This look good?"), Tidus will - with his arms awkwardly holding the air, make the machine re-emerge with the same golden sheen, the simulator materialising from nowhere.
And only with the tiniest bump-up of Tidus's hands, a fraction lower than they should be, but thankfully not sending the machine flying, than kicking his hands where they need to be.
But behold -
Tidus takes some steps back, and mimics wiping his brow. ]
Phh-ew! It took some lifting, but we got her here!
[ Truly, he's absolutely out of breath. ]
no subject
Once Tidus was in place and Quatre could have a chance to measure, he nodded to tell Tidus that it looked good so he could finally bring it back. Certainly impressive how little effort it had taken to move something that big and he couldn't help but chuckle at the feigned effort]
I know. That was a lot of hard work on your part and I appreciate it.
[Now for the main part]
Let's get it up and running and you can have the first try.
no subject
I'll give you moral support from the side.
[ But if there's a plug Quatre wants putting in, well, he can do that much, at least. ]
no subject
Of course.
[Once they've gotten it powered up, Quatre sat down in the cockpit of the simulator, getting it started up and making sure everything seemed to be working. It seemed to have mainly Federation and OZ suits in it, but that was fine. He could work on it later to get the Gundams in there]
Alright, looks like it is ready to go. No Gundams at the moment, but you can try out some of the other ones and I'll work on getting the Gundams' information loaded in.
no subject
Oh, okay. [ Though- ] What's on here then? You have something other than gundams? [ Wait ] --spaceships?
[ Is that what this is...? ]
no subject
But these mobile suits are similar to the Gundams so it is the same basic feel as piloting one of them... but the OZ suits were not as good when we first started.
[He adjusted the screens so the one easiest for Tidus to see would show the images of the mobile suits as he spoke] But we've got Leo and Tragos, which were mainly used on the ground; Aries, which was used in the air; Cancer and Pisces, which were used in the water; and looks like it stops with Taurus, which was one that could be used in space.
[Then more to himself] I'm surprised it doesn't seem to have the Mercurius, Vayaete, or Tallgeese... but those weren't intended to be mass-produced.
no subject
So these were on planet suits? And the Gundams - they're made from that gundam metal, and they're meant for out of space. Is that the difference?
[ He thinks he's getting it now. ]
no subject
Taurus was the first mass-produced one that wasn't. Most of them were not intended to be used in space. I'm sure there were some that were meant to do repairs, but initially the fighting was always in a place with an atmosphere. The Gundams also initially were not meant for space, but they too were rebuilt in order to accommodate. Wing Zero, Vayaete, and Mercurius were the first Gundanium based suits to be designed for space.
no subject
He looks at the controls lower down from the screen, and then back up. ]
Soo, how about showing me one? What about that one you said flies in space? [ In the air or water is cool, but, space. ] Or let me jump in and figure it myself! How hard can it be? I can't crash anywhere!
[ Aww yeah, Quatre, let him have that first dibs!!! You can be the guiding gundam pilot over his shoulder. ]
no subject
Sure thing. Let me queue it up and then it's all yours.
[It didn't take much to set it up so the Taurus's programming would come up. Once he did, he slid out of the seat so Tidus could get in]
I'll walk you through some of the control, but yeah probably not as much stuff to hit with the Taurus.
[Unless the colonies were programmed in there. In which case there were some very big things to hit... eventually]
