poi 16, library; video
Hey guys! [ As soon as the video feed cuts in, so does Tidus's voice, a smile and a hand raised to the screen. He's by one of the tables, breaking the 'be quiet' rule of all library spaces for a good reason - the reason which is spread out on a table, showing a selection of bottles, equipment, and even plants - one of which glows a soft gold. ]
Welcome to the newbies! I wanted to talk some about the healing we've got for people to take when they need it - plus, there's some making I was thinking some of you might be interested in - these!
[ He's grabbing a small pouch, removing the contents, and bringing a view of small green sweets sitting on his palm. ]
They're candies made from the plants we've got here. [ He nods back, and still in view is the golden plant, as well as less glowy variant. ] We've got a bunch growing, and they can be made into salves too - they're from Roland's world, and he got a book that tells you how to make them! But-
[ But- Tidus chuckles. ]
Well I've never made them before, and Roland hasn't either! Sooo... I was figuring we've got enough people here who're good at making with herbs and in the kitchen - how about we figure it out? Give people more options for healing. Then we don't have to pay for 'em. [ Heheh! ]
There's plenty of the plants in the greenhouse if you wanna try on your own - thanks, Persephone! - and the book on them's in the library. I'm gonna put some of these [ he holds the sweets back up, while also putting them back in the bag ] into the supply locker, so you can check them out. Try making them whenever you want!
[ He can't figure out the tie right now, or it's just a little too distracting. But Tidus is quiet, before he looks up from the pouch to the screen, and then to the side. His tone shifts. ]
And... if you ever worry about taking supplies when other people need them, don't, okay? Carry them with you. If you need to know how they work or just wanna ask about them, you can. And you can ask people to buy what works where you're from too. A bunch of the potions we have - they saved me more times than I can count back home. And I know Trunks swears by senzu beans.
So - yeah. [ He pulls a smile, small as it's turned. ] Drop by the library if you want! I've got an alphabet to count 'til it sticks.
[ Heh. ]

Does he actually do a very good job at preparing for said Inipedo coming straight for him? No, considering he's in a not-so-comfy chair that won't tumble along with him, meaning that he and Inigo? Are getting smacked to the ground, tumbling in a messy boy pile. ]
Ooooowwwwww! [ Owwwwww! ] Why'd you have to-- you broke my back!
[ His poor, beautiful back! Something hurts in his side - likely not his spine, but still, owie. ]
no subject
[ Is Inigo just as sore because of their stupid tumble to the ground as Tidus is? Of course, though Inigo does have the slight added benefit of not being the one who's mainly on the bottom of this boy pile, so he's probably had a little bit more luck when it comes to the physical department than Tidus.
.. and it doesn't even seem like he's planning on voluntarily getting up, since he's not moving. Maybe Tidus will have to physically throw him off to end this boy pile. ]
You know how much I like candy! [ He likes it so much, apparently, that he is currently sounding like a big dumb whiny baby about it.
The only thing missing is actual tears, honestly. ] Why would you do this to me, Tiduuuus?!
[ Whine.
So much whining.
This is your best pal, Tidus. ]

He should care a lot more about being sprawled out on the floor with a guy being a lump on top of him, but if one thought being in a library would have Tidus considering the noise being made and the hazard the pair have become? So not his style. ]
If I give you one, you'll want another one! And I wanna know they work too! [ That's a very important point about the candies, Inigo!! ] What's wrong with training and then getting one! It's fair!
[ Totally fair, bro! ]
no subject
When that definitely isn't true at all. ]
What's it feel like, huh? Being a bully?
[ Says the guy still on top of another guy... Pot, kettle. ]
What does it feel like, humiliating one of your best friends for some candy?! [ He still isn't moving. ]
no subject
[ This would sound a lot more demanding if Tidus didn't sound like he was going to start laughing all the while, but he has decided he'd much rather not have a lump of weight on top of him, so he's pushing- pushing, anyway, as best he can, to move Inigo the side of him, and to get into a sitting position.
Come on brooo, let him up!! ]
no subject
That only lasts for about a few moments though, before Inigo gives up, sighing dramatically as he lets himself roll off the other guy. Fine, fine, Tidus! You big bully! Be free!
But regardless of whether Tidus decides to use his newfound freedom to get up, Inigo remains here lying on the floor. His back against the floor, his facial expression one of dramatic agony. ]
I don't think I'm going to make it. Betrayed by my best friend.. And candyless..
[ Isn't he so sad. ]
no subject
Tidus does get up, as far as being able to sit on his butt, eyeing the remains of his friend once known as Inigo, now turning into little more than a husk of a guy. Apparently, as Inigo would like to pain it, and-
Sigh. Siiiiigh. He shouldn't really encourage him, but what's one sweet? Okay, so it heals; but it's not like the train didn't give him a bunch, and so.
And so, Inigo may not catch as the pouch materialises in Tidus's hand, and he pokes in his fingers, takes out one of the green sweets; poofs away the back, and instructs Inigo: ]
Open up.
[ And if/when he does- ] Don't choke.
[ That warning is definitely coming first before Tidus pops in the green, herby sweet with a liquid centre. ]
no subject
And yet. And yet, when Tidus asks him to open his mouth, he actually does so. Despite the fact that the other easily could have pranked him by popping something else in there. Inigo apparently just trusts his friend that much, or it's just the obedient dog within him taking over.
Thankfully Tidus doesn't prank him though, and Inigo instead finds a taste in his mouth that's.. different. It's a little strange, but.. not in a bad way. ]
I--
[ There's a moment where he definitely sounds like he's choking, despite Tidus's warning. It's just not a good idea to lay there on your back, with a sweet in your mouth, and try to speak at the same time, okay.
But he recovers. ]
Now I can live. You've saved me, Tidus..!
no subject
[ SIGH. SIGH! Look at this guy he puts up with, and truly, Tidus didn't expect Inigo to question the command - a sign of how long they've been together (and what Tidus knows to warn for, and that has no need). ]
Suck, don't bite. It's better that way - 'least it was, with Sakura's candies.
[ There's no real reason to guide Inigo into how to approach a sweet, but he's got nothing to do; and he does consider popping one in his own mouth, but he's got an idea instead.
For right now, he lets Inigo stay laying for a while longer. ... ... just a little while, though. ]
Are you going to get up?
no subject
[ .. the obvious problem here being that, as Tidus has helpfully pointed out already, Inigo isn't hurt at all.
So it might just instead be that Inigo is - more or less - comfortable on the floor, or just doesn't quite feel like standing up yet. Either way, he doesn't seem to be making any motion to stand up, especially as he's trying to start sucking on the candy. ]
no subject
Tidus looks out of the corner of his eye somewhere else, his brain attempting to come up with some better understanding of what Inigo just said than what each calculation comes to. He's waiting to be healed. Are you hurt? the question Tidus could ask, and he looks at Inigo.
He doesn't look hurt to him.
...
...
So he casually takes a hold of Inigo's closest forearm in both hands, and twists them to pull the skin, only stopping once he hears a good enough yelp. ]
no subject
Granted, it's nowhere near the worst pain Inigo has ever felt. It doesn't even really register on that scale. But something about the sudden shift in this situation - Inigo lying there one moment, at peace, completely content with his candy, and then sudden pain the next - makes the yelps come so naturally, even though Inigo's pain tolerance sure is a heck of a lot better than this. ]
Ow!
[ It's a sharp yelp, even. ]
Ow, ow-- Ow, ow!
[ Even if Tidus relents after that first 'ow', the others follow all the same.. Because it's Inigo, and there's no way he isn't going to be a little drama queen about this. If Tidus fully releases him, he'll even roll back and forth on the ground like a baby. ]
Tidus! [ Whine. Whine!! ] What was that for, man?!
[ Look how serious this got. He even got a 'man' out of Inigo. That's when the real shit goes down! ]
no subject
Tidus doesn't even change expression, keeping it unaffected, unimpressed, and letting Inigo's arm go free from his hands as he brings them to rest as he folds them under his chest. ]
What? You said you were waiting to see if it worked.
[ So?? Feeling better yet, pal? Buddy. Ol' chum. How is terrorising Tidus's very serious Helping Hour going for you? Has it been worth it. ]
no subject
It's the only way to protect it. ]
How am I supposed to know?
[ It's half-audible, since there's still some of that candy he's sucking on..
(The pain is kind of fading. It's just Inigo being a drama queen.) ]
Maybe you'll need to give me a second piece now, just to make sure! [ H-Huff!
He's at least sitting up now though. The last thing he wants to do is be a convenient target lying on the ground for a Tidus pounce. ]
no subject
[ How about that for making sure? He doesn't really sound like he's going to do it, but the suggestion is still put out there, ... and maybe he'll follow it with displaying a fist in an offering way, since Inigo's sitting up.
This thing? Bonking you on the head? Sound fun, pal? ]
no subject
[ Of course that's the instinctive response - with a slightly raise in the pitch of his tone and all, born out of nothing but sheer dramatic panic. Why is his bro like this? He hasn't even tried to hurt Tidus!
.. that pounce obviously didn't count for that. Clearly.
Inigo is now getting to his feet as quickly as possible. For how comfortable he had seemed a few moments ago, ready to remain lying down on the floor there, he's now suddenly standing up at the speed of light - wanting to make sure Tidus doesn't have as easy access to his head without being able to expect retaliation. ]
I'm so nice to you, every day, and this is what I get in return?! [ Waah, waaah. Big baby spotted. ]
