poi 16, library; video

Hey guys! [ As soon as the video feed cuts in, so does Tidus's voice, a smile and a hand raised to the screen. He's by one of the tables, breaking the 'be quiet' rule of all library spaces for a good reason - the reason which is spread out on a table, showing a selection of bottles, equipment, and even plants - one of which glows a soft gold. ]

Welcome to the newbies! I wanted to talk some about the healing we've got for people to take when they need it - plus, there's some making I was thinking some of you might be interested in - these!

[ He's grabbing a small pouch, removing the contents, and bringing a view of small green sweets sitting on his palm. ]

They're candies made from the plants we've got here. [ He nods back, and still in view is the golden plant, as well as less glowy variant. ] We've got a bunch growing, and they can be made into salves too - they're from Roland's world, and he got a book that tells you how to make them! But-

[ But- Tidus chuckles. ]

Well I've never made them before, and Roland hasn't either! Sooo... I was figuring we've got enough people here who're good at making with herbs and in the kitchen - how about we figure it out? Give people more options for healing. Then we don't have to pay for 'em. [ Heheh! ]

There's plenty of the plants in the greenhouse if you wanna try on your own - thanks, Persephone! - and the book on them's in the library. I'm gonna put some of these [ he holds the sweets back up, while also putting them back in the bag ] into the supply locker, so you can check them out. Try making them whenever you want!

[ He can't figure out the tie right now, or it's just a little too distracting. But Tidus is quiet, before he looks up from the pouch to the screen, and then to the side. His tone shifts. ]

And... if you ever worry about taking supplies when other people need them, don't, okay? Carry them with you. If you need to know how they work or just wanna ask about them, you can. And you can ask people to buy what works where you're from too. A bunch of the potions we have - they saved me more times than I can count back home. And I know Trunks swears by senzu beans.

So - yeah. [ He pulls a smile, small as it's turned. ] Drop by the library if you want! I've got an alphabet to count 'til it sticks.

[ Heh. ]

Good to know.

I won't call myself an expert, but if we did get a tank, I'd be capable of operating and maintaining it. Knew a man who wouldn't get off my case about attaining the knowledge even if I never ended up using it.

Could probably write some instructions too.

[You can practically hear the shrug in his voice.] I've met a few people from my world already, though I don't think I've run into Leia as of just yet.

Still, if there are better ways to deal with major injuries that I'm not aware of, then wasting any resources on getting a bacta tank probably isn't worth it.

The concept of this place still gives me a headache, but I've already seen enough to not assume that my world is the most advanced one there is.

Had I been that narrow-minded I'd be insistent for a lot of things from home to take priority.

I suppose I understand that sentiment, though if it was between magic healing and bleeding out, I know what I'd choose.

[He's known Sith and Jedi who're more than adept at healing, but if he's wounded then he definitely prefers being patched up the non-Force related way, personally.

But if the choice is healing through mysterious means or dying, he'll choose having a debt to someone with more power than him any day.
] Can't be picky when you're dead, after all.

[But then, not everyone is as pragmatic.] I have to say that I prefer energy weapons for the most part, but I see the drawbacks if you don't have power packs for them. Bullets are something you can make and reload into more primitive weapons, blaster bolts are a bit more difficult.

[He sounds thoughtful as he speaks. He has experience making his own weapons, of course, but he can recognize the challenges when the parts are hard to come by.] I'm very familiar with weapons. Firearms, melee weapons, bombs, poisons, acid, you name it... If things are that expensive though, I'm guessing starting small would be preferable.

Generally speaking you don't want to bring in the big guns until you know that people won't shoot their toes off.

[Same is true for any weapon of course, but. Stab wound can be treated, the aftermath of someone with a rocket launcher can only be cleaned up after in his experience.] Guess I'll start saving for some vibroblades.

And poking around to see what we have already. Improvised weaponry is a specialty of mine too.

That's good to know. [The more people who can handle themselves, the better.]

A vibroblade is a blade that uses ultrasonic waves to be more effective. Even a glancing blow would be enough to do some real damage.

If it's a vibroblade fitted with a cortosis-weave, even better, as that would made the blade effective against certain types of energy weapons. [Lightsaber would take a bit too much time to explain, but still.] They're certainly preferable to other types of blades, so... Guess I'll start saving indeed. It's been years since I haven't had so much as a vibro-shiv on me, to be honest.
