[Her voice might sound a little tired, but it's nothing to be concerned about. Especially because she sounds fine other than that.]

I suppose since I've had the time to finally settle in somewhat and to figure out what is going on here, that I ought to offer my services. Or, well, my knowledge as the materials and methods to what I can and cannot do are a little difficult to get a hold of.

The first, and perhaps the more useful of the two, is that where I am from I was from a clan that was known for their sealing abilities. When I say sealing, I mean just that. Whether it be a method to have a scroll summon someone or store items to sealing rather... difficult creatures into vessels, it can be done. Though whether it can be done depends on a few factors. I suspect here, the most we would be doing would be summoning and sealing weaponry into potentially easier to carry vectors.

[She pauses for a moment, taking a slow deep breath.]

The other is that I have something of, I suppose a gift? from my time being the vessel of a particular creature of which is no longer with me, where I can sense negative emotions. This has proven... rather useful in diplomatic matters and, I suspect, there might be some use here. Whether it be things on the train or with the knowledge of this Ministry, should we need to speak to them again. I have yet to discover any sort of detriment or way to fake said sense, so I figure it rather... well, foolproof.

Don't you have all your demon overlord powers back now that you're embodied again, though? Can't you just nullify the sealing if she attempts to seal you like that?

... Literally the demons that were sealed were all some kind of animal or insect and were sealed because they were causing some kind of actual destruction and threatening people. The only way humanoids, of any manner, are involved in seals, is if it's a teleporting seal.

[Zetta is getting angry about things that he's decided to make all about him, as is his wont.]

Animal and insectoid demons are people too! Even King Drake the Third doesn't deserve to be sealed just because he's a big cat person, and if you knew him you'd admit that was saying something.

...besides, destruction and chaos are kind of demon things. Next you're gonna tell me you lock your dog in a scroll because it barks at the mailman! Or bind your bathmat up in a thousand years of duress because it got wet after you showered and stepped on it!

[Look, as post-traumatic stress disorder goes, this is probably the best result anyone could hope for after the most badass freaking Overlord in the entire cosmos got trapped in a book for a couple years. And frequently shelved. ON THIS VERY TRAIN NO LESS!]

Please do tell me what the alternative was to stopping a rampaging demon being controlled by a traitorous villain that was en route to destroying my home, my people, my family. I suppose, in theory, they could have been killed. But instead I sacrificed my own wellbeing in order to calm it down and keep it contained so it wouldn't happen again. As was the job of my successor and of the one after her.

Do tell.

Kill the controller? Free the demon and turn it on the guy? Woman up and take the L? None of this even sounds like the demon's fault, and it got the crap end of the deal left and right!

There was no freeing it from that control, given the method that was involved. And, no, I was not about to continue to let it rampage and destroy everything around us. [She shouldn't be getting this defensive about it and she knows it, but there's something about being told that wasn't the right option that gets right underneath her skin.]

I had enough problems keeping it asleep for the years that I did. From keeping it from escaping at my most vulnerable. Listening to the constant threats to destroy me. I have absolutely no pity for that monster. [It's probably good that she doesn't know the full extent of Naruto's friendship with it, oops.]

Oh yeah, Magog forbid the imprisoned demon try to escape. Also, threats are pretty much par for the course. Someone who's listening in give an estimate of how many threats I've tossed at you, the train, the people on this train, the Prinnies, the people responsible for us being here, the garden car, my own minions, the Prinnies, the library, and that one washing machine that overflowed and doused me in suds that one time.

You greatly underestimate the level of power and insanity said controller had. Given that said controller could control arguably the most powerful demon to walk our world.

Look, no offense, but that demon was barely fit to lick the boots that my boots wear, so the whole power thing isn't much of an argument. Plus, seriously, you guys had an enemy like that and you just imprisoned the demon? That's like locking up a mugger's knife, except the knife is sentient and just got roped into the thing.

You were not in our world nor know our world so this comparison between you and them is meaningless. Lets not assume what came after disarming the enemy for fear of looking like a hot-mouthed idiot.

If you could've done it after that, you could've done it before that and spared the demon being caught in the middle. But you're right that the comparison is meaningless to someone as badass as me!

And the point is, binding people into inanimate objects isn't cool. That doesn't change just because I got out of it! I may not be a book now, but I was one!

... when did she ever say she was going to do that, though? She mentioned sealing creatures before she came here, sure, but she said she'd be happy to seal objects to make them easier to transport. Like sealing one of the medical beds to make it portable, or sealing the food ingredients left over from the previous month when we haven't used them all.

That's like saying, "oh, here's this giant pit of torture and despair that I usually use to capture people who aren't like me for an eternity of suffering, but let's use it for storing ice cream." The whole first part of that sentence doesn't bother you just because you're getting ice cream?

You're speaking to someone who grew up in Tartarus, mate. It's about as "giant pit of torture and despair, for an eternity of suffering" as it gets.

I try not to judge mortals for their customs since everyone's got a different life to live and a different path to follow. Maybe the demon overlords of your world are great, but the demons in her world might be creatures that are only interested in devouring people and stealing their souls, in which case I don't blame her for trying to defend herself and her village.

If she's not hurting anyone on the Train, especially not you, then what does it matter? Just don't go out of your way to antagonize her and you'll be fine.

Back up a moment. Again, what's with the double standard? I declare my intention to conquer a world and everyone's down my throat about it, shelving me in the library, and generally judging the hell out of me, but someone who's deep into the whole eternal-duress thing gets a pass? Where's MY support?
