Nebula 2, Evening | A Matter of Great Importance [Video]

Everyone, it has come to my attention that we have a new karaoke machine. I was excited at first because that sounds like a lot of fun, but when I started it I saw that there were squids performing on the screen.

I know that many of you are human or human-adjacent and that the representation of other species may be too much to ask, but I have to ask: why squids? Why not octopi? This seems very unfair.

I won't be looking at a gift fish if it has gone south but this is very frustrating to me personally. Are octopus really held in such low regard to squid?

Please let me know. I am quite upset.

Oh, I get that. But even in worlds before humans disappeared our ancestors existed. And there must have been stories or tales about them, no?

[Myths and stories pass onto legend and the truth of her ancient kind must have had some part of the understanding of the world, right? Or were there no squids and octopi in Inigo's world?]

[ At least he's willing to own up to the fact that there could be. That maybe they're out there, but just forgotten - or that Inigo might not know about it.

But it seems unlikely, especially since he was taught so many stories about the past when he was younger, as part of his royal upbringing. ]

Instead we had stories about dragons.. Those are what existed before anything else in my world.

[She had to kind of thing about that. On one hand, dragons were the stuff of myths and fantasy, but then again so were humans.]

We've heard of dinosaurs and ancient sea beasts like the ancient kraken and umibozo. But it was only recently did we learn that humans existed on our world.

.. I suppose it could be different between our worlds. [ After all, Inigo has found so many differences between his own world and the ones other people come from at this point. Nothing could surprise him anymore. ]

After all, people talk as if dragons don't exist in their worlds.. so perhaps people like you don't exist in mine. [ There's a small pause, but then Inigo smiles, perhaps wanting to give this a bit of a lighter edge. ] Which is a terrible thing for my world, if it means that it is missing out on you.
