So... I guess I've been doing a lot of thinking since the last mission.
[Danny shifts nervously as he tries to figure out how to say this. This was a lot harder than he had thought it would be. Sure, he'd gotten used to the idea that it was okay to be open about his powers here. But there was a difference between that and admitting to some of the things this last mission had made him realize about himself.]
And I kind of have some things that I was hoping that someone could help me out with.
I guess the first thing is.... I haven't been really hiding that I have ghost powers? But the thing is, I guess I kind of realized that I've been avoiding trying to get stronger with them? [Because the mission had made him realize that he was still afraid of his future. Afraid of how powerful he could be in just a few years. It had been easier to just focus on learning how to fight and how to better use the powers he already had. But if the last mission was any guide, that wasn't always going to be enough. He needed to get stronger with his powers, and prepare for the new powers that he knew were still waiting for him.] So I guess what I'm asking is.... Does anyone here have any ideas on how you train ghost powers?
And kind of to go with that.... It kind of got pointed out to me that I have a lot of abilities that could be a Problem if I got brainwashed again like that. So, I guess what I'm asking is whether there are any ghost hunters here? Or people with experience with stopping supernatural stuff? And does anyone have any ideas on how to block mind control and illusion stuff? More than we already trained for, I mean. Because that obviously wasn't enough.

[Later, Danny picks up his most recent purchases from the train shop and goes in search of his friends. He had some tools to hand out.]

Re: [voice]
Do 'normal humans' where you come from sometimes have powers? Or magic?
[Because he had been thinking about this as developing like a sorcerer, and 'normal human' cues him to what would be a better framework, one he could also speak to.]
Re: [voice]
[Which was just another thing that made him different. ]
Re: [voice]
[And Zelgadis can't keep the bitterness out of his tone regarding 'transformation'.]
Anyway, when I was first transformed, I didn't know my new limits either. Strength, speed, magical power -- which I did have as a human, just not much -- durability. It took me a while to figure it out, and I didn't get anything I had to actively think about. That I didn't know how to do before.
But to figure my limits out, I had to actually try to use what I had. Probably the same way you've been learning you have powers; by getting into things that you can't cope with human abilities alone. You don't have to like having powers to want to know how to use them properly if you're the sort of person who the world just can't seem to leave alone.
Re: [voice]
Uh would it be far too late to offer my condolences for all of that? [ Because if anyone knew what it felt like to suddenly be half something other, it was him. And Danny could confirm that it sucked. ]
Its not like I don't like having powers? I'm mostly used to being like this now. And being able to fly is really cool. [Now the part where ghosts were feared and hated by most humans. Apart from the ones who'd decided to join his fan club. He still wasn't sure which was worse. Those he could do without.]
But yeah, I'm probably someone that the world won't leave alone. I've got terrible luck that way.
Re: [voice]
But if the world won't leave you alone, it's better to practice now so you can deal with it. Even if some of those abilities of yours aren't yet at a place where you should do them on the train.

Re: [voice]
Re: [voice]
[Maybe he should just start picking abilities out of a hat to work on. ]
