The more of these dreams I have, the less I feel I understand them. [Selenay sighs. There's definitely something she's missing in all of this, and she feels half-blinded without another Herald to consult, but she needs to work with what she has.

But really, would it be so awful to give her a Gifts teacher or two who would know more than she did about this sort of thing?]

True, those vacation planets don't need us, the train just thinks we need the break. But we most definitely are needed on the mission planets, as the inhabitants are unable to deal with their problems themselves, and have usually asked for help from any Voidcraft that happen to be in range of their communications networks. Funny, they don't ask for help from the Ministry of Void Travel, they ask for help from rogue Voidcraft like us!

But I agree, the dreams could be clearer, and then we'd know exactly what we were up against. But maybe it's not the train that sends those dreams to us, maybe it's just that some of us are prescient and are going to have dreams that are not entirely clear. Still, the train could warn us of anything it knows about those planets and the dangers of any particular mission.

I don't expect that the train is the one sending us these warnings, and ForeSight is ever a fickle Gift.

HA! You can say that again. Foresight is a fickle gift. It gives a person just enough information to cause alarm, and it doesn't necessarily give enough to make it possible to avoid the disaster. In fact, it usually doesn't. At least, that was my experience in my own world, and that has been my experience here on the train with these prophetic pre-mission dreams.

I suppose it must be different in mine. ForeSight only ever showed what the future would be if nothing changed. Only I never saw the distinct visions the other ForeSeers did. At least not until this train. And if this is what it is, I cannot say that I envy them their dreams at all.

Ah, I see. Foresight in your world has rules that it doesn't in mine. Though it's true that some visions in my world were regarding what would happen if nobody did anything, but there was never any certainty about that. I only found out what the visions meant after some disaster happened.

You never saw the same definite visions that others with forsight saw? But you do see those distinct visions here on the train? Too bad there is so little certainty as to what such visions mean, even here on the train. I really don't know what to think of this dream, and it seems that you don't either.

No, I never saw the visions the other ForeSeers did. I only ever got feelings regarding plans already in place. Excellent on the battlefield, but less useful for most other things. I'm not sure I know what to do with these dreams.

[ He nods. ] Feelings about plans that are in place are sometimes useful. Particularly on the bsttlefield! [ He nods again, with emphasis, since he knows this from experience. ]

I don't always know what to do with the dreams I have on the train, either. But I think it's better that we have them. We can at least speculate as to what they mean, and since we're doing that as a group, there is a chance that someone will come up with an accurate idea of what the dream means.

I'm sure it is some kind of boon, or at least this thing thinks it is, but it would be more of one if they made more sense, I think. As I've said before, I've never been truly certain what the other ForeSeers see, but I do not envy them if it's this. And Lord and Lady bless them for their patience if it is.

[ He nods. ] Indeed! I would really like it if the dreams made more sense. And I suppose these dreams give you the opportinity to understand what the ForeSeers see, and that's providing they see no more than we do on the train. As you say, they must be patient sorts, if that's the case.

If nothing else, I suppose I'll understand more when they tell me something they've Seen.
