[There's a blend of trauma and guilt at play there, but he's relieved to have someone acknowledge he needs to change. Most tend to just absolve him of his blame, which is incredibly frustrating to him.]

God, yeah. It's worse when you don't have any special skills to offer. I feel like I'm almost always getting rescued from messes in those.

Have you thought to learn a new skill? I know a lot of people do that on the train.

[Allen hasn't really had much a need for it himself considering he is very much capable of fighting. But he soon found himself surprised.]

I'm usually around the dining carriage. At least when not in the gym.

I have thought about that, actually. I've been working on self defense with people, but I'm still not exactly superhuman, so it's a little hard to compete.

[Everyone else is at least a skilled fighter. All he's got is a few wrestling moves.]

It doesn't matter if you are super human or not, self defense is still a good thing to have because sometimes there might be moments where those superhumans might not be so super.

[It's why he is glad he can at least do basic things for if he didn't have his arm again. Can still fight.]

You can also learn how to use a weapon as well.

Yeah, that is a good point... I don't know if I really want to use a weapon though? It... I don't know if I'd have the guts to seriously hurt anything. Like, I've never even thought about killing anyone.

[Unless the fire counts, but everyone besides himself wasn't at all intended.]

Just because you have a weapon doesn't mean you only use it for the purpose of hurting. My weapon while it can change into a sword doesn't actually hurt anyone. It's purpose is different. It just depends on how you use it.

Or you can think of it in another way. While I am very much against killing... believe me the thing I just mentioned came about because of my unwillingness to kill people. I have to learn to think of other ways to help save someone, even if it does mean having to hurt or kill. But those are more last resort.

Well... where I'm from, most weapons actually are used for causing harm. Don't know if here I could use a weapon differently, but I don't know if that's possible...

I don't know if I'd ever be able to kill someone... I want to protect people, but deciding someone else's fate like that is...

Anything is possible if you honestly put your mind to it.

As for if you'd be ever be able to kill someone. Some people aren't and that's a good thing. If I could I would avoid it myself, but sometimes a situation might call for it if for example they are doing something where there is no other choice. It is deciding their fate but it can also mean you are letting them finally have peace.

[And yes he tries to think of the positive to having to kill someone.]

You just have to hope that never happens.

I know sometimes there's no choice. I guess I'm just not used to being in situations that dire. I've really only been in one that was that bad, and I mean, there was no one to sacrifice.

[Besides himself, but that's a far different situation, something a little easier to swallow.]

I guess I'll just have to keep hoping I don't even need to think about making a choice like that. It sounds like too much pressure.

Maybe stick with Orange Team then. They are the ones least likely to have to deal with fighting. Not impossible for it to happen, but the least likely.

But if you do want to go to another team, I can always help so you don't have to if you don't want to.

Yeah, I've been doing that... I don't know if I'm nearly as smart enough as everyone else, but I'm doing what I can.

[He still wonders, though, if he'd be able to accomplish more on a different team, so long as he learns a bit more about fighting.]

IT depends on what you define as smart enough. I myself am very much not. I'm what you call a reckless fighter sometimes. Basically a think before you act kind of guy. But I feel like protecting overs weighs more than protecting myself.

[So you'd probably already be smarter than him in that aspect.]

I offer because I honestly want to look out for everyone and to not see anyone hurt.

Heh, maybe we've got more in common than you think. I was always pretty reckless. Don't get in a lot of fights anymore, but you know.

[And his expression looks just a little darker as he dwells on the rest of what Allen has to say. Yeah... Rich knows a bit about hurting yourself to save others.]

It's always good to look out for people, but you should probably be careful... try not to get hurt if you can help it.

The only fights I ever purposely got into that weren't Akuma related were with a certain individual who didn't like me. So we always argued. At least that got better.

[Still would probably bicker honestly. But he soon chuckles.]

I've lost count on the number of times people have told me that. Alice probably more than anyone I know.

[He wonders why she is friends with him sometimes. But he enjoyed the friendship they had honestly.]

But it's easier said than done when I've chosen to protect as many people as I can regardless. Because everyone needs saving in some way.
