[She does leave soon after that, though, out to go find Rich in his music room haunt. She's a little greasier than usual, forgive her. She was doing some repairs earlier that day and just chooses to spread the machine juice around the train rather than scrub just yet.]

[She is completely forgiven for being greasy! Rich knows she's usually doing important work anyways, so he just smiles when he sees her, not giving a second glance to her current state.]

Yo! Sorry to make you come find me. I just felt a little weird talking about this where everyone could hear.

Alright, well! I'm here now. So unless there's someone hiding nearby, no one's going to hear anything.

[She listens for a moment.]

[Rich does manage a smile at her antics, but his hands are still nervously rubbing at his arms. Usually, he isn't at all self-conscious about them, but when it comes to how they might burden him... he's a lot less comfortable admitting weakness.]

I was just kind of curious about your ideas for clothes and stuff... I kind of have trouble wearing a lot of fabric, considering, you know.

Do you think you might find something that'd be a little less itchy on my scars? It's no big deal if that's not what you were gonna use the clothes for! I just thought...

[He can't meet her gaze anymore, and he rubs the back of his neck so he has something non-harmful to do with his hands.]

Yeah! [She says without a second thought.] I could do that! Like I said, the idea is that like with protective armor meant to defend people in combat, a low-level enchantment on clothing should provide a user with constant effects as long as it's being worn. Even if those effects are something that basically provides irritation relief.

Because it is irritation, right? Itchniness isn't just about an inconvenience. It's definitely discomfort. You don't have to dress it down.

[She's already taking some notes, though.]

[Rich is surprised, both that she's so excited to rework her experiments to something that would help Rich, and that she's being so understanding. Rich gives her a soft, hesitant smile and nods.]

I guess it is kind of discomfort, yeah. Even if they've healed over, they're dry, and sunlight definitely makes them hurt more rather than the lighting here on the train, you know? So I guess I could use a jacket when we're on missions or something.

The idea isn't to cover them, exactly. Magical armor still usually accounts for the entire body, even if the enchantment is localized. It may react more intensely on contact, but good armor protects the whole body.

[Meaning he could get away with something like a shirt or even simple jewelry.]

Oh... you think it would be able to actually protect this without actually covering it?

[Then Rich might be a little more comfortable with that, honestly. He wouldn't want to look like he's hiding part of who he is.]
