... What is 'online', and is that actually an advertisement common in your world?

Oh geez. Okay, you know these computers we're talking through? Some of 'em can connect to this thing called the internet, which is a big... portal of information I guess? And spam. And a lot of furry art. Even some weirdos roleplaying furries, too.

When you're on there, or 'online', you can see ads like that. Usually it's just for 'hot singles in your area,' so I added the clarification. Sometimes they're more specific, anyways!

So... like flyers, but inside of the screen? For relationships?

Yeah, a bit like that! But not just for relationships. For like pretty much anything you wanna learn about, or anything you wanna do. It's for learning, communicating with people, sharing your own work for people to see... I don't know what else. I've grown up with it, so it feels hard to explain all of it.

Oh, uh, yeah, I guess you could call them flyers! Usually they're just ads for the dating site itself, and not the people who want dates, but you know.

But I guess it's pretty much like a library, except with books that are way easier to find and no librarians shushing you.

If a librarian is shushing you in a library that's on you. Some people prefer to do their research quietly.

[But he's chuckling. Some people just aren't library compatible.]

It's not my fault I have a naturally loud voice! And that I keep accidentally turning up the volume on videos...

[And unplugging his headphones in the process. He's definitely been caught deep down in a Youtube rabbit hole more than once in the library.]

I'm a - well. I suppose you'd call me a 'nerd'. And libraries are only really in big cities, so I enjoy them where I can.

You're not a nerd if you like books, really. I liked being around in the library, too, when I was younger. At least just to have somewhere nice to sit.

They tend to be expensive if you do not have permission to browse in the libraries. There's smaller ones, but the research libraries are controlled by large factions.

Oh, right. I guess in some worlds, printing presses don't really exist, huh? That's kind of lame.

Printing... press? What is the print being pressed on? And how?

On paper! It's a way of mass producing books. I think in the early days, it stamped it on instead of everything having to be written by hand.

I can imagine! Maybe there's info on it somewhere in the library here. Then when you go home, maybe you can build one?
