Llama 27 - Video (action if wanted)
[ Lightning comes to in luggage with the resigned practise of a control coach veteran. Knees uncomfortably tight against the canvas lining and zip pressing a line against her thigh, it's familiar. Irritating. The disorientation, the sudden switch from Kamakan to carriage--
She rises. Stumbles to the ICP, the roster appearing the moment she jabs her ticket into the slot. The list of names... isn't that different. The month's the same. She exhales, jaw untensing, and scrolls back up with a flick of her fingers. No dead. Good.
While she's still logged in, she taps Video and then everywhere. A choice she visibly regrets the moment she does it, but no helping it now. Ahem. ]
Twenty-seventh, huh... How're we doing?
[ It's more awkward than she remembers. A glance off-screen-- ] Looks like the gates are up. What else'd I miss? What happened in Kamakan?

[Aaand now he's out of breathe. Huffffff--]
"After. We went somewhere else! With fish! They had caves. And the people. They wanted to teach us. How to-- To face. The illusion stuff better! There were crystals."
[...Anyone want to translate?]

[ Video ]
I was worried you were going to zombie-walk off the train.
[ Winced ] I mean. We're fine? More or less? You missed some training thing.

I'm in the room if you need anything. ... Thanatos and I took over for keeping an eye out for the team.

So how are you?
[He's in his quarters so it's just audio, but there's the sounds of him being crafty in the background.]

Yes, I came back by way of the Luggage Car. I was so mad that I punched a hole in the lid of the trunk with my fist and kicked another hole with my foot. I really don't think being in a suitcase or a trunk is the most dignified way to return. [ He rolls his eyes. ]
I was glad to be back, though.
I missed everything before the last mission, on the illusion planet. It was a terribly modern world with a four-tiered city. I only saw the top tier tier, though, and except for the recurring visions, my assigned task was boring. Orange Team was supposed to map the top tier, and that was all laboratories and other not-very-interesting facilities. And I helped a local by the name of Anan to place some electronic devices around the city. I didn't really understand their purpose, but I was glad to volunteer. However, the only really interesting part of the mission was the frequent intrusion of those illusions. And when we left the city, we ended up leaving the area by way of concentric circles of territory, and each of these circles had increasingly dire and convincing illusions. I got to confront a dragon I remember from my world and from the wars me and my brothers fought there. And then when we came out of the last circle, there was an enornous creature that was colorful and monstrous. It made a speech about how it was the author of the illusions, and it wasn't finished with us. It expected to meet us again, somewhere. I yelled at it, and my language was not exactly polite!
And then we went to a planet that had a temple full of monks who were teaching meditation and martial arts classes. And then they sent us to a set of caves that contained illusions that the monks had either created or invoked our brains' ability to create. Or both. The idea was that we were supposed to learn how to distinguish the illusions from reality, or to mitigate their destructive effects. I somehow think that the train took us to that place because it fully expects that we will encounter that illusion-making creature again, and the train wants us to know how to counter the illusions.

After you left, the illusions expanded beyond the fighters in the ring. Then the illusions grew to cover the entire city. The local population were lead out into the fog. There, we were met with a labyrinth of powerful, individualized illusions based on desires and fears. Meanwhile, people were suffocating from the lack of good air. In the middle of the illusions was a bright rainbow light similar to the Void. They spoke loud and dramatically. It appears we will cross paths again once they find a home as we made an enemy of them.
Anan--[ Mort squeaks. ]--and Chiff are going to investigate further about any entity like what we met and contact us if they discover anything helpful. A non-Void active world called Diagad was mentioned by the illusionist, but records do not seem to match what was said by them. I don't know much about that, better to ask someone else for more details.
To help protect us, the train brought us to a world near a Void Nexus to build our defenses against illusions, both through trials and creation of a pendant. Some of us earned a few extra crystals, used to make the pendant, in hopes of helping those who couldn't complete the trials or arrived after. Won't work as well, but it's something to help against someone who fights will illusions.
We got more Reds, and the double booth in the quiet car has been converted to a lab. The transgates have been linked up across the train for ease of access, and as Otoha already said, he and I offered ourselves as points of contact for Red while you were away.
[ He leafs through the pages in his notebook again, looking for anything he might have missed. ]
I think that covers most of it.
video;
[ Look, Inigo did realise Lightning was missing. It was hard not to notice, especially since people were talking about it. But he was really thinking that maybe she reappeared already at some point and just didn't make some big scene out of it - that'd be just like her, after all.
He knows others are already giving her the laydown on the mission, so-- ]
Are you sure you're feeling alright? That was an awfully long time.

[ There's an awkward - if happy, very very happy - face that appears on the screen, a wide smile and a look of relief around it. Shifting some, as sincerity gets replaced by a feigned chide: ]
Tryna make us worry there? ...it's good to see you!
[ ...a very shortlived chide. ]

Probably not, they all know what they're doing. ] Good. How was it? Uh, the training, I mean.

.. Right. Good work. [ There's a lot to unpack here. ] Anan, was that the pilot from the last world?

[ She almost manages to keep her voice careless, but the missing time has unsettled her. ] ... Hey. You doing alright?
no subject
What about you? You- hungry? You need a drink? I'm in the kitchen right now, me and Madoka - [ if Light even knows her. But she probably does, right!? ]
We're cooking. We'll whip you something up if you wanna come on down. You like fish?

We stopped by some planet and some people got pretty pendants to help protect from the illusions. I'm still relying on myself but if you ask nicely I'm sure someone has some spares.
Whoever it is did aim pretty below the belt with their attacks.
no subject
Well.. I'm glad to see you return.
[ If not just because he's not entirely convinced the people who walk through the gates on the platforms are actually going home. He doesn't like the idea of her being caught up in Naga-knows-what. ]
And glad that you're fine, though I'm not so sure whether you made the right decision by asking practically the entire train to dump way too much information straight onto you. [ Too much happened on Kamakan!! ] You're going to be stuck at that terminal forever now.
no subject
Or at least he doesn't. ]
She is, and Chiff is her robot friend.
no subject
At least this way they're not trying to hug me. How're you doing?
no subject
[ Barely a glance at the door, then-- right. ] There a gate in the kitchen?
no subject
Arms folding, she assesses. ] So... all these illusions are from one entity. Makes it simpler, one target. How're the new reds doing? [ Since he's been the point of contact, it's worth asking directly. ]
no subject
I mean I got stabbed, but I'm used to that.

[ Lord Hades might be fine with holding performance reviews and reprimands in the Great Hall in view of everyone, even if he only has a little to actually say on it. ]

[ The most nothing-saying answer possible. Thanks, Inigo, for being as open about your mental and emotional state as ever. But there's currently so much he's surpressing that this is the only thing he can bear to say. ]
Mostly wishing they'd pick a sweeter ingredient of the month rather than all this seaweed. I miss the honey from a few months ago so much. Maybe you could've shown back up to a better ingredient if you would've been gone for a few days longer. [ Unless Lightning likes the seaweed..?
She doesn't seem like she'd be super picky about food. Maybe. ]
no subject
Come right over. You can snack while I fry something up!
[ Doing a fry up wasn't exactly in the books, but for Light? There's an almost giddiness for it, like inviting over a friend for food. All that time spent overcooking finally having a chance to be aptly used. ]
no subject
[ Even so, ] Thanks, for looking out for everyone.

Let's. Pick a car, I'll meet you there.

[Not that he actually cares, but-]
Thanatos and Otoha decided to help in your absence. They deserve brownie points and their name on the blackboard.

Talking about food it is. ] Eat anything for a month straight, it'll get old. Wonder if anyone's asked nicely for a new menu yet.
no subject
The standard car? One of the gates has been set up there.
no subject
[And violence is the only answer that thing was going to give him.]
Not a problem. ... Don't mind standing guard, you know that.
no subject
Although it's just poutiness, rather than any actual upset or hurt. ]
It'll probably just put it on the poll.
[ Since that seems to be the train's hobby lately!! ]
Seriously, I miss the days when it would just give us a carriage without making us vote for it. It feels like we're never going to get some things because of how slow the poll makes it go. [ Especially now dance is on it!! That's never going to win!! ]
no subject
Which, well. [ Trailed off, frowning slightly, feeling awkward. ] Um. Does the train ever done repeats? For people who, er, show up later, or ... miss out?
