[ Lightning comes to in luggage with the resigned practise of a control coach veteran. Knees uncomfortably tight against the canvas lining and zip pressing a line against her thigh, it's familiar. Irritating. The disorientation, the sudden switch from Kamakan to carriage--

She rises. Stumbles to the ICP, the roster appearing the moment she jabs her ticket into the slot. The list of names... isn't that different. The month's the same. She exhales, jaw untensing, and scrolls back up with a flick of her fingers. No dead. Good.

While she's still logged in, she taps Video and then everywhere. A choice she visibly regrets the moment she does it, but no helping it now. Ahem. ]

Twenty-seventh, huh... How're we doing?

[ It's more awkward than she remembers. A glance off-screen-- ] Looks like the gates are up. What else'd I miss? What happened in Kamakan?

Light! Hey!

[ There's an awkward - if happy, very very happy - face that appears on the screen, a wide smile and a look of relief around it. Shifting some, as sincerity gets replaced by a feigned chide: ]

Tryna make us worry there? ...it's good to see you!

[ ...a very shortlived chide. ]

Thought I'd keep you on your toes.

[ She almost manages to keep her voice careless, but the missing time has unsettled her. ] ... Hey. You doing alright?

[blitzcheer]

Me? Never better! [ Nothing to worry about there. ]

What about you? You- hungry? You need a drink? I'm in the kitchen right now, me and Madoka - [ if Light even knows her. But she probably does, right!? ]

We're cooking. We'll whip you something up if you wanna come on down. You like fish?

[enthunder]

[ She considers for a bare moment, before she nods. There's no way the air of Kamakan can really be lingering in her throat after weeks away from it, but tell that to the back of her mouth. ] I could eat.

[ Barely a glance at the door, then-- right. ] There a gate in the kitchen?

[blitzcheer]

Over in the stores. [ He jabs a thumb in direction. At least, in direction for him. ]

Come right over. You can snack while I fry something up!

[ Doing a fry up wasn't exactly in the books, but for Light? There's an almost giddiness for it, like inviting over a friend for food. All that time spent overcooking finally having a chance to be aptly used. ]
