This is one of those "I can't believe I have to say this" kind of deals, so buckle up, folks.

Guys? I know I'm really amazing, very cool, and all around unbelievable. I'm so many things, it's hard to list them all. But one thing I'm not?

A deity. Yes, I am in fact, 100%, absolutely and truly not a goddess. And no, I'm not a demi-goddess either. Not a single trace of divinity in me. I won't name names, but this has happened about three or four times now. Just thought I'd mention it in case there's anyone else out there with this assumption.

... Y'know what? It's a new month, and that means we're getting newbies. Maybe now's a good time for everyone to sweep any other misunderstandings under the rug. So, if there's anything you wanna clear up about yourself, your world, your species, whatever, go for it.

((ooc: feel free to use the above as an excuse to tag others in this post!))

Is too much fish unhealthy for him, beyond the ... usual side effects of over indulging?

Probably not. But he's pretty much shameless where fish is involved, and it's best not to let him think he can get away with tricks like this.

Can he be effectively put to work with fish as his payment and not coin? Nothing excessive of course, being a small creature.. but then he may have exactly as much as he wishes, so long as the effort is made first.

Have you ever tried to get a cat- even a sentient one- to do something they didn't want to do?

Yes! While admittedly not every cat was tested, it's just a matter of finding the right motivation. If this one is indeed desperate for a nice fresh trout or some such, then that is all the motivation required. No action, no trout. ...Though we'd used sliced turkey or cheese cubes for our tests, not fish, it was remarkable what we could get a cat to do.

...You know, that was meant as a rhetorical question, but I'm actually a bit interested in hearing about that cat training business now. Given that he is sentient, I doubt that Spark will be quite that easy to motivate, though it might come in handy to know for the various pets on the train.

Spark might be easier to motivate, he assuredly understands the concept of future rewards for action now better than any ordinary feline, and you know exactly what motivates him! I'd be happy to share my papers if I can reproduce them from memory, though my co-author is not present I'm certain he won't mind at all.

Oh I'm sure he does. The problem is, he also understands when he's being bribed better than any normal cat too. So it's more a question of whether desire for fish or desire to be lazy would win out.

There's only one way to find out, I suppose!

I suppose there is. We'll have to see if we can arrange something.
