[ della has a slightly serious look on her face... but for those who know her, there's definite playfulness in her eyes. ]
This is one of those "I can't believe I have to say this" kind of deals, so buckle up, folks.
Guys? I know I'm really amazing, very cool, and all around unbelievable. I'm so many things, it's hard to list them all. But one thing I'm not?
A deity. Yes, I am in fact, 100%, absolutely and truly not a goddess. And no, I'm not a demi-goddess either. Not a single trace of divinity in me. I won't name names, but this has happened about three or four times now. Just thought I'd mention it in case there's anyone else out there with this assumption.
... Y'know what? It's a new month, and that means we're getting newbies. Maybe now's a good time for everyone to sweep any other misunderstandings under the rug. So, if there's anything you wanna clear up about yourself, your world, your species, whatever, go for it.
((ooc: feel free to use the above as an excuse to tag others in this post!))

putters back into this late sORRY
[It's mostly spoken at a remove enough to pass for academic, but whatever those societal views are, Asch isn't particular fond of them.]
(gently threadjacks
[Forgive the intrusion, Jade has thoughts, and Asch is literally just sitting here where Jade can overhear.]
But then again I suppose it mostly depends on who you're asking. [...his face suggests he's not a fan of the societal views, either.]
AND THEN THERE WERE THREE
... that's just more potential variety to the answers! Multiple opinions simply gave a more whole view of a situation!]
I suppose I would be asking the both of you, now. Hello. Please tell me if my questions are unwelcome in any way. But if you would be willing to indulge me..?
the minute he brings up amnesia both blades are just like ooh relatable
[Don't mind Asch scooting slightly so that Jade is a little less loomingly out of frame.]
Neither of us is particularly shy about telling someone to fuck off if they go too far, so.
LMAO
We aren't. And I certainly don't mind indulging a few questions.
no subject
[About being told off, or being indulged? There's no knowing, but he seems pleased!]
As magical constructs, are you more durable than would be expected of flesh and blood? Does such a base nature mean you are unusually skilled with sorcery, compared to a mundane being? Or in turn, given 'blades', better at melee?
no subject
[Plus the whole core crystal regeneration thing.]
In our world, humans aren't capable of anything you'd call 'magic' unless they're in a link with a blade. I've never actually had a human driver, though, so Jade knows more about that one than me.
no subject
When humans are linked to a blade, they use themselves as a conduit to channel their blade's ether, which they generally still need the blade's help for. Ultimately it depends on the human, though. Experienced drivers can borrow their blade's ether without any help at all.
[Or their consent, for that matter, but Jade buries that thought in the ground, where it belongs.]
no subject
[He doesn't look or sound like he's suddenly going to go get a knife and go blade hunting, so there's that much. The explanation of magic and how it's used draws a nod; it sounded clumsy to him.]
I admit that doesn't sound terribly efficient, crippling your combat partner for your own power simply means you're at one and a half strength at best instead of two--
[Wait no that's getting sidetracted, he waves it off hopefully before that can be pursued.]
Should we on the train be especially aware of any effects that might cause undue harm to you, given your natures? I have dabbled with magic-nullification fields in the past as containment for rogue spells, I would prefer not to accidentally unravel either of you if one is put up, as an example.
no subject
[And a few other things, but. That's Jade's to disclose if he wants.]
Null magic fields... Wouldn't unravel us, but a lack of ether in the area isn't exactly pleasant.
no subject
[He will not be disclosing them at the moment - maybe in person. Maybe.]
It isn't terribly efficient, no. But as far as I can tell, blade-driver dynamics were not built with equality in mind, on or off the battlefield.
[Whoops, that's a little bitter.]
no subject
[Unpleasant is bad enough, why inflict it on nominal fellow train allies?]
... I admit given the bare sketch of your natures and how the average person would surely react to such a possibility, I have wondered if in your world, you are considered second class citizens or worse. Do you at least have the ability to choose who you partner with? Or can you, with each other, and skip the human element?
no subject
Only for about the last three years.
[It's an answer to both of the last two questions, really, one that answers the first without really answering it. No, blades didn't have that choice. Yes, that led to some incredibly shitty things.]
no subject
His tone is wry, though, humor a method of dislodging the fury that would consume him whole, otherwise.]
Before that, our only options out of the system usually involved someone dying. And/or questionable magical rituals.
[...which certainly is A Way of putting "performing surgery on yourself to cram a human heart in your chest". Perks: leaves Xehanort room to make assumptions, and gets across the vibe without having to go into the specifics.]
no subject
[While he's certainly curious about these rituals or sudden deaths, there were other things to pursue first.
One saves such questions for the second encounter, never the first..!]
I assume then, with three years' experience, you both work well together. In the inevitable deployment of all of us into mayhem on some foreign world, do you two fight best side by side, or do you prefer having a healer and someone wearing heavy armor along with you?
no subject
[A small glance at Jade - their 'working together' is more based in common priorities than combat experience, but given what they've seen so far on the train, there's plenty of time to fix that.]
And I'm a healer myself - the only one on Blue, actually, as far as I know.
[Not that they always run with Blue - far from it, considering the last mission - but hey, in theory at least Blue has a healer now?]
no subject
We certainly do. And we can both handle combat on our own, if we must - but the two of us alone are certainly more than sufficient for most things.
[So... no need to waste resources on them that would be better spent elsewhere, in Jade's opinion.]
